They call themselves CRA but no CRA can be found on internet look up. Caller ID said Vonage - Charlie.  Very suspicious.

Got the same call from CRA looking for my deadbeat brother..  Caller's name was Lindsay and she said she was handling some information but couldn't disclose..

received a call from this # and the voice mail was from a Mrs. Frawley. She gave some account number ans said it was urgent. I've never received a call fron them before! Be careful!!!!

I just recieved a call from this number.  BE CAREFUL!!! They are now using local numbers to trick you into answering their phone calls.
They caller claimed to be associated with the IRS.  After informing the caller of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, he immediately hung up the phone.
Please, let them know that they cannot, BY LAW, make false claims using government agencies or companies.

IRS doen't make phone calls they send letters.  Be ware!!!

This is Capital Recovery Associates, a Pennsylvania outfit, a typical collector of old debts, probably no longer valid even if they were even legitimate years ago.  Just whirling auto calls on stuff they bought for perhaps a dime on the dollar, hoping to collect something every now and then, with intimidation on those foolish enough to get drawn into dialogue with one of their weasel employees.  Every once in awhile I get a call, stemming from a 9-year-old minor business matter, where my attorney took care of everything, but a former associate has a couple of long-standing items which may have cross-referenced to me.  Strangely, with today's internet technology, outfits like this can see your name on some old record, and now get phone number where they couldn't have years back.  These bottom-feeders auto dial thousands of calls, and can make money if just a very small % yield them something.  Just ignore, as there's no legal basis for them to do anything on 99% of their activities.

Neglected to add in previous comments that my voicemail gave me a local # with its standard alert, and the woman who left message, from CRA, gave the 877 #.  I tried the local #, which began with their standard auto greeting, but this went to standard "number not in service" indication.  So thay are using local #'s, obviously to try to trick recipients into perhaps being fearful some local entity is after them.  Just another smarmy trick.

Charleston, SC. 16 year old debt that I paid off late. These are the bottom of the barrel credit collectors. What scam artists!

I keep getting calls from 843-278-0375and the name is listed as the phone number. I never answer. But now I got a message from an irate woman name Miss Hoskins from CRA referring to a 6 digit account number, so I assume because on her message she just says she's calling about ###-### and it is URGENT that I call her back at 877-311-7543. Toll free of course. She goes on to say at this point, she MUST speak to either me or my representitive and then she hangs up. Sounds like BS to me.....

Just got a call from these jokers about some old card under my wifes maiden name...account has been closed and taken care of for YEARS and there is nothing legitimate about their claim.  Bottom feeder collection scam artists - just check with the originating party and ignore them...not to mention they called my cell phone which is on the national do not call list - highly illegal and suspect.  The guys' name was Reg and said I had till 9pm to call back and pay before "legal action" - hahaha, idiot.

They are a hard noise bully of a dept collector. They make illegal threats. Threaten IRS action against you as well as court and jail time.Tell them you are recording the call and they will hang up instantly.The legal way to handle there call is ask for written proof of dept be sent to you and all future contact be made through the USPS(Mail)and no further phone calls be made to you personally by them. By law they must do as you asked or be open to a law suit themselves, a legal one at that. Do Not give in to there bullying and demand written proof and Never give them Any personal information

I received a call from CRA looking for my daughter, the person  from the 843-278-0375 number said it was important that they speak with my daughter and have her call, wouldn't tell me what it was about.  When my daughter called the number it came back "not in service".  However, I also received a message on my home phone, again how important that she or her representative call and left a five digit account number and  877-311-7543 to return the call to.

they used a 510 area code, same as my cell. "it is very important that you or your representative contact me immediately". a callback to the 510 number did go to a standard greeting, "please wait for the next available agent".

got a call on a cc from 2000 that is no longer on my cc bill they advised they were turning me in to the irs and would be sending me a 1099c and also fwd my recored phone call to the irs mest thing to do with these guys is is call them and harrass them ask for the bottom of the barrell credit collectors...they have there phones where it semi discused there voice and amplifies it they get pissed when you can them multiple times
