- valerie| 1 replylabor law poster place. they want u to order posters. i just got a call too
- suspiciousThese guys sent labor law posters to my office without authorization or any prior notice...
Approximately one month later, they sent an invoice saying payment is 30 days past due (addressed to the previous secretary, whom has not worked at this office in over 2 years). I know that no order has been placed with the "Labor Law Poster Service" of 5859 W. Saginaw Hwy #343, Lansing, Michigan 48917 in all the time I have worked here, as I am the only person authorized to write purchase orders for the office.
I toss the 30 day notice, knowing that any legitimate invoice would have the corresponding purchase order number on it, as well as be addressed to the purchasing department liaison at my company.
Every 30 days they send past due notices, which meet the same fate as the first. Phone number on the invoice is 877-321-4144, 888-442-4144 fax. I'd like to see them try to collect.
Do not fall for this. Postings should be available from your state's Department of Industrial Relations for cheaper or even for free. Ex: http://www.dir.ca.gov/wpnodb.html - tired of telemarketersThese labor law people called my office, I wasn't available so they went my voice mail, didn't leave message. Three days later I get an invoice for posters I did not order. When I called about it they said they talked to me on Monday... I never talked to anyone from that office.... the guy acted like he didn't believe me. Without hassle he told me to tear up the invoice but I would receive the posters anyway and that it would be okay for me to keep them. I said I didn't want them. He said not worth sending them back. I guess I should expect to be billed again and again, even though I didn't want them. I think I will reject the shipment.

- Kat| 1 replyThey called and said they were from the Illinois Labor Law Poster Services. He then said his system showed that our company did not have the updated posters for 2011. He asked me to verify the address so he could get the posters out to me. I then asked "will these cost me anything". He said it would cost $59.99. I told him I was not authorized to place the order. I asked for the number to call back and he gave me (877) 321-4144. I told him the president would be the one to give him a call back, and he wouldnt give me his first name or anything and he said anyone could help us out.

- AdminSuperGirlThese folk sure are persistent. Some woman from this company called asking for our president, and per her instruction I stuck her on 'permanent hold'. She's been holding for over an hour.
Washington State has these posters available for free, if you want the non-laminated ones.- Caller: Unknown

- CaliAdminDealt with this company early this year, they sent posters without authorization (to someone who didn't even work here anymore) followed by an invoice. They called this month saying that we had done business with us before, and wanted to make sure of our address so that they could send us the 2011 posters.
According to the US Postal Inspection Service website, it's an act of mail fraud to send someone unsolicited merchandise, and then send them an invoice for it. You can report this company at the following link. I did, and we actually got a phone call about it almost a week later.

Be sure to keep anything these guys send you, because the Postal Inspectors may ask you to send it to them.- Caller: Labor Law Poster Service

- AdminJust got a call from 'Rachel' telling me it was time to update our poster for the new year. After confirming our address, she said it would be $67.25 and asked who the invoice should be addressed to. I couldn't figure out why we would be paying for the posters, so I put her on hold and confirmed with a co-worker that there is no charge for posters from the dept of labor - it even says so right on their website. I told 'Rachel' that we got our posters for free from our regular supplier and did not wish to BUY any from her. I repeated this a couple times before hanging up, and she said she would not send the posters or send an invoice...we'll see.

- FormerEmployeeof LLPS| 2 repliesI used to work for this shady company. I was fired for a lack of sales. Yes, it is true....i have a soul! I hated it anyway. The office that callls you is not the office you get if you call the number back. The 2 are on the same street not even 2 miles apart(fyi) 1 inbound, 1 out. The people working for this company are mostly, but not all, "ghetto ass losers" I worked with an individual that openly talked about dog fighting at break times and others who retreated to their cars(in sight of the office manager) to smoke pot. Those people were still employed last i knew. Also, in my time there, a female co-worker was turned down on a sale and told she was lying by the poor person who answered the call. the female called the person back and cussed them out. LLPS's action? 3 week suspension,(she had top sales record). They are trained to fool you into thinking your company has ordered previously. They have no "records" on your companys labor law status. the reason they push so hard for a credit card is b/c 60% some of the customers don't pay the invoice, And credit card insures the caller gets commision. I sold posters to organizations that i knew did not need them and said thay were not authorized to make purchase decisions. The lists of potential customers that LLPS purchases are horibble. Chain stores and frachises that have a corporate office, and the "mom n pop" buisnesses that cant afford to be mislead. These posters are available from the gov and many other places free. Tell them to remove you from the list. Make a note of the name of the caller. Any Qs about this company feel free to ask by replying to this post.

- Jo AnnI receive a call every day, it's a recording about Maryland Labor Law Posters. I've called twice now and requested that I be removed for their list, they are calling my private mobile phone. The calls continue though I am assured my number is on their do no call list!

- D. Boudreau| 1 replyThey called me this afternoon, Friday, March 18, 2011, on my mobile phone and left no message other
than the following; "for yes, press 1, for no press 2." This is one strange outfit... - Brad[***] keep sending me an automated message. I get these sometimes 3-4 times a day.
- DocThe company is the Labor Law Poster Service and they have been giving me issues for 10 years. When I first opened up, they sent me a very threatening marketing letter saying I could do prison time and have to pay a minimum fine of $10,000 dollars if I didn't have their large version of the Labor Law poster, and they lied to me over the phone that the free version from the Labor Department was not legally binding. My business is just me with no employees, so therefore I have no need for the poster. I have explained this to them numerous times over the last 10 years, but yet they still send me mail and call me incessantly. At one point, they actually sent me the poster and I immediately sent it back, but had to go through six months of calling them and explaining that I didn't need the poster and had no intentions of paying for the one they sent me even though they continued to send past due notices. Even with all that, I think the biggest issue I have with this company is that the mail they send me has very harsh threatening verbiage on the outer envelope that threatens prison time and fines that people that handle my mail or see it sitting on my counter when it's delivered can read. I have called the better business bureau and the Labor Dept. but nothing gets done. Personally, I think these scumbags should be shutdown.

- JRLeft no message other than "press 1 for yes, press 2 for no"
They also call many times a week from different phone numbers. The 877 area code number is the first time I was able to find information on the originators.- Caller: Unknown
- JoeI'm getting calls from the same number. They leave a message stating my zip code, and then it says "for yes, press 1, for no, press 2". My number is unpublished and unlisted, so who gave /sold it to them? More importantly, how can I stop them from continuing to call me. They used to call these "crank calls".
- Caller: same as what the others are discussing?
- paul replies to D. BoudreauI get this one as well. I can't tell who this is from because the message begins before the voice mail starts recording. I always check this site for more info when I get calls like this.
- CathyI just called them and asked to have my number removed from thier list, as I too, am the only 'employee' of my company, I spoke to Eric, he seemed nice, and said he would remove my number. I guess we'll see what happens...
