- samuel| 1 replyMy wife received a call from Mary of pleasereducemydebt.com. I have spoken with them about both of our debts. They are listed with the BBB, having an A- rating. Mary at first claimed an A rating and membership in the BBB, which was not listed online. She claims they can negotiate off 45% of our cc debt, although there are a few companies she says they can't deal with. If this is true, it's an incredible deal I'd like to take advantage of. Aside from the annoying nature of the calls,in some cases unwanted, does anyone have evidence that they are illegitimate?

- they lie replies to samuelSo what's your question? It sounds too good to be true so is it true? Jeez.
- OVER ITHello Jackie Green, Im curious because I just gave like all my info to Alex from PLEASREDUCEMYDEBT.com, and have an appt tomorrow, as if im going to keep it after all this reading about it, not to mention I also did not find company on BBB site, anyway what more if any do you know about them?? Thanks
OVER IT, - Steven_D| 3 repliesThey called my grandmother repeatedly over the past two weeks. She was going to try it but I told her it was a scam. I suggested she call the Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureu. The BBB said they was not apart of them. But told my grandmother to never give out her SSN. They said they need her ssn to get her credit report so they could lower her debt they had take over from the credit union. If they had taken over her debt then they should have all that info. Please dont fall into this scam.
- SteveAmazingly, I've been called by them also, but they never said they were part of Experian, but they worked in conjunction with them. When I asked what that meant it was very simple; the credit reporting company was giving them info and phone numbers of people who were already in bad trouble on their unsecured debts and they were calling to offer a potential solution. When I called Experian, I was told that they were not part of Experian per se, but they certainly would not be providing them info if they thought they were illegitimate. I looked on the BBB and haven't seen any complaints and as most know you don't have to be a member of the BBB for complaints to show up. Just one other point, why would one be concerned about giving out your ssn # if your credit is that poor; what would someone do with it? They obviously can't open unsecured credit in your name and at that point why would they want your identity etc?

- sam| 2 repliesThis company is legitimate and I know that comments have been made from people who have not done their due diligence, because if they had then the comments would have not been made in the first place!!!

Although they might be annoying/aggresive it is only fair to have all the facts and present solid EVIDENCE before you accuse a company of illegal activity. Why are they a "SCAM" exactly? What actual proof can be presented to back up that claim? So far, I can't find anything and I am curious to know if someone can present some FACTS or evidence to help me make up my mind on whether to use their services. Everything they have told me to this point seems credible and they have been able to back up their claims. Someone please present something other than the claim that they need your SSN as that could be said of most debt relief, cosolidation and counseling services out there. I am not trying to suggest that I disagree with the opinion that this compnay "may" be shady in some way. What I do desire is that someone present the facts to back up a claim as serious as that. - Lisa McCullohI get a call from this number, but don't answer it because all the caller ID says "Unavailable".
- JJ White| 2 repliesSteven I think your an ignorent fella, I signed up for there program and so far it has gone really well they have great customer service.
- telemarketers-r-scum replies to JJ WhiteYou're calling someone ignorant and you CAN'T EVEN SPELL IT. LOL.
You must work with these scammers, your lack of skills clearly qualifies you. Not to mention the ability to make such a convincing fake post. - roxyWe just got called. we don't have caller i.d. Couldn't tell you the number, went round and round with this guy with a strong accent. I know better than to set up an equity account!!! HE too argued that his "affiliate" is Experian and that he had our credit score. (HOw does he have my credit score?) I asked and told him I'm not stupid.... I've applied for credit before and you have to give permission for someone to pull our credit report.
Who's looking out for us?????????????? - Octavio| 2 repliesI got a call from them today saying they can reduce my debt .55cents on the dollar. They also said they got my credit score and a figure of my debt which was not even accurate. They said they would transfer all my savings and checking into an secure ira or something like that. I told them I dont even have a checking or savings account or a job and they just said okay well have a nice day. lol

- Emmett BDunno what to say about you folks that seem to think that this is such a scam company. I checked with the settlement rating system of america and they had a AAA rating. I talked with them and am considering going with them, they sent me a copy of a contract without me even having to give up my SSN or any account information other than the names of the creditors and what I owed. Sounds legit to me so far.
