- AnnetteAlso got a call from 877 358-5585. I did not answer, they left no message.
- notahappycamperGot the same call and it is dishnetwork
- R| 1 replyCalled Dish Network (the NATIONAL Dish 800-333-DISH) and asked, because I got a call from 877-358-5585, too, and it was very fishy and the guy on the phone kept asking for a deposit (didn't give him any info, fortunately)...Dish Network does not have any affiliate sales groups with this phone number, so do NOT give your CC info to anyone calling from here. It is most likely a scam.
- DonI just received a call from this number and was also informed it was a Dish Network Sales Department trying to activate my application (which I never did initiate). I asked where they were located and the (foreign sounding) lady said she was in New Jersey. I requested my number to be removed from their system.
- Caller: Dish Network Sales Dept
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Ben JohnsonDish makes sense. Had very unpleasant sales experience yesterday and so calls like this would fit the pattern of verbal harrasment the person used. No one on that end when answering - plus they must have taken my number from caller ID and it is NOT the number I asked them to use.
Bummer on that - they rated really well for service online in reviews, but it is not likely I'll ever contact them again given this continued issue.- Caller: Most likely Dish
- Jim| 3 repliesI've had 8 calls from 877-358-5585 between Apr 27 and May 1. Have not answered any of them as I don't take calls fro 877 numbers. It's starting to annoy me!
- James replies to Jim| 2 repliesI called DISH the other day and ordered service. I requested an install date of May 27, 2010. Then yesterday I got 2 phone calls from 877-358-5585. I did some searches on the web, and found this site (as well as others) where at least two people had concluded that this phone number was DISH. Well, curiosity got the best of me, so today I did a text chat with DISH Network, and gave them my new account number, and explained that I had received 2 calls from this 877 number, described how I had done searches on the web which resulted in me finding people's comments saying this number belonged to DISH. I asked if they needed anything. He came back and said the were simply trying to confirm the order. I do not know if he actually verified the number I gave him or not, but that is what he told me. FYI...
- James replies to James| 1 replyWell, scratch that. It was like an hour ago that I did a text chat with DISH Network, and I just got another call from that same 877 number. Well, this time I answered it. The gal on the phone said she was an account manager, doing a follow up call on my recently expressed interest in getting DISH service. And then she asked me if I had service yet. Well, since I had contacted www.SatelliteSales.com first, before calling DISH Network, but did not like how aggressive they were, I did not get it from them but instead directly from DISH themselves. I reasoned to myself that this must be follow up SALES call, from www.SatelliteSales.com, trying to still sell me the service. I mean, come on, if it was actually DISH Network, they would know that I had an account already set up, even though the installer is not scheduled to come out until next week. So, I revise my above comment: this must be www.SatelliteSales.com.
- EM replies to JamesNot sure about that. I called Dish the other day to INQUIRE about service. One call after that was from a "manager" "following up" on my call and pushing me to activate the service. As soon as he started talking about the $25 a month programming (for one year out of a two year contract), he then told me the FREE DVR's would both add another $12 to the bill and if you wanted other programs (that weren't in the "package" you chose), that would be extra as well. If you have more than one room installed (even if you don't presently have tv's in those rooms), they charge you extra to install, so the up to SIX free rooms is bogus, too.
My cable gives me 60 channels. Most of them I never watch. Dish offers 120 FAVORITE?? channels, nearly 60 of THOSE are music channels. If I want music, I'll turn on the radio. If I pay for 120 TV channels, I want TV on them, and preferrably the channels I like. At least one of my regulars isn't even on the list.
So, I told the guy I wanted to think about it more. He got angry and bellowed that he would just put me back on the $25 a month program ONLY. So be aware that the "FREE" DVR's are only if you take the "RENTAL COST" and if you choose not to continue the service, THEY go back with the rest of the equipment, so they are NOT free after all.
I've since had 3 more calls from that same number, which I did not answer. - abcI have been called twice a day for a week by them! I only called them once to ask a few questions and the lady kept yelling at me asking me why i wont just sign up already...So i just hung up on her. Do not answer their calls or call them or get service from them! They are just very rude people! And they'll never stop bugging you!
- Caller: DISH Network
