I picked up the call and it was some firm trying to help out on a collections issue...but i dont know if its a scam or not because the call was unknown....

left a message claiming it was regarding an urgent matter.  left a reference number and persons name.  called them back and they are monsters.  told them the person they were looking for did not live here.  man started yelling on the phone all crazylike.  very abusive.  claims it was regarding a legal matter, and not a solicitor.  sounds like credit collector.  said they are calling from the "office of CRA" whatever that crap is.  But when you ask them what their company is, they won't tell you.

Got calls and messages from this number, returned call to let them know person does not like here, people can not take any abuse they will lose it in a second, will not tell you who they are other than cra, will not give you a contact address to serve them with harassment. They will google earth you to tell you were you live to intemidate you. They are just trying to do there job, but not good at it.

Pretty much the same as the other posts.  Asking that a relative of mine that doesn't live here call back immediately.  Stated a case number.  Claimed they were from the CRA (???)  Assuming this is just some sort of debt collector.  Certainly NOT calling back!

It's my guess that C.R.A. is one of those bottom feeder organizations that purchase "bad debts" and then try and intimidate the "debtors" into paying them extortion money to which they actually have no legal claim. I haven't called the cracker-a**ed b*tch (Mrs. Campbell) yet but I'm about to.
I've only got one thing to say to her "You can't get blood out of a turnip!"

Received a call from a Las Vegas land line (looked it up) looking for a person that is related to my ex-husband's ex-wife!.I was told I was listed as a contact person, they didn't even have this person's mother's name. They asked me to respond to the 877-360-1616 number giving me a case # to refer to and that it was a "timely" matter. I called this number because I was curious to get info on who had my name and phone number in relation to this peron who I only know remotely (and it was over 20 years ago)  The person who answered only told me CRA and that they would take my name and number off the list so I wouldn't be bothered with anymore calls.  I contacted the person and they are unaware of anyone looking  for them.  Gave them the info I was given, but now I am wondering if this is some kind of scam????

It's a complete and total scam. Not sure of the details or what they are trying to accomplish, but don't fall for it.

I just received a voicemail from this number...they were looking for my ex, who I haven't seen or heard from in 12 years, who also never had my phone number.  The message said it was very urgent and he needed to call them today.  They said that they had his paperwork and that they didn't think he had any idea what was going on.  I called them back and they were very rude and told me that if I couldn't tell them how to get ahold of him, then I shouldn't be returning their call.  And, if I had any way to get him a message, to have him or his attorney call them right away.

Got a call last night for my sister-in-law.  I knew immediately it was a scam because the first time she had ever called this house was the day before I received the phone call.  I got the same message as everyone else.  I haven't called them nor will I, but it seems like they are getting sloppy.

A Mr. So and so called and I asked who he was.  He was vague and would only identify their company as CRA.  I insisted on more information - he called me and I wanted to know who I was talking to.  He hung up on me.  I called back and demanded to know who they were and wanted to know why I was being harassed!  That person hung up on me.  I called back and again demanded to know why I was being harassed - they told me not to call back.  I insisted they called me and they had to tell me who they were - they hung up again.  I called back and demanded to know who they were and why they were harassing me.  This next person accused me of harassing them!  I said I was reporting their harassment to the police and hung up.

Received a call for my ex, who never had my telephone number.  Left a message for me to return an urgent call and reference a number.  Called back today.  Ms. Wells was the one that called from CRA.  She said she found my number by googling the address.  Informed her I didn't know where he was and didn't care.  Claimed not a collection agency, but I went back into my files from about 6 years ago and they were a collection agency at that time.  I kept their message and number from then.  Guess all knows why this is my ex now!  Asked them to never call me again.

Received a call that there is tax paper work and left a file number.  The man said he is from CRA from Virginia Beach, Virginia.  This is a debt collector.  Do not ever give them any information.  If they continue to call either record the call or write down everything and file a formal report to your states General Attorney.  Let's stop these people from abusing others.

They called this morning asking for my mother and said that she gave them my number as a contact number. I then wrote down the reference number and she said her name was Miss Flynn with CRA and when I tried to ask what the company was she hung up on me.  so I have been doing some research and this company is using many different numbers to scam people. I recieved a message from my mother in law in regards to a very important call she received. She claims the call was from ms.kitchen with CR associates and it was very urgent that I call 877-334-2942 in regards to a file had ms.kitchen had received. She refused to discuss anything with her and just told her to pass the message along because it was urgent she speaks with me. So when i get the call at work from my mother in law..i naturally just call the number, and very nice man answered the phone..he was kind of vague.. and asked if i had a file or case number. So i gave it to him, he confirmed my identity and told me of a debt i had from 1999-2000 (which i did..but didnt admit it yet) i listened to what he had to say..i just happened to be at work near a computer, so as he is telling me things i’m trying to google it. he was telling me of a 1099C that was going to the IRS..looked it up and sure enough thats true. It can actually be filed against you even though the debt is out of the “statute and limitatiions”..which differs in each state. the IRS considers it “unreported income’..which is true..i guess.. i KNEW that i owed that debt..lol..i got a credit card when i was in college and was young and dumb..maxed it out and didnt pay it back. i thought i got away with not paying it off. yeah right!
.. they offered me a very nice settlement but financially i couldnt take advantage of it..they were somewhat understanding about my current situation and even worked out a payment plan with me..it was a little more than i could really afford..but its way better than dealing with the IRS. and its going to help my credit score. sucks all of you had such a bad situation..they acutally helped me! and thank god she didnt tell my mother in law anything..that would have been so embarassing!!!!

A message was left from a Ms. Seigle from the Offices Of CRA leaving an urgent message for a Julia Carter/Williams. When I called to let them know that no one lived at my home by that name, a unkind man tried to talk circles around me and changed his story because I wouldnt give him any information he then said the message was for my husband and that he needed to forward some urgent information and to call the office with the file #765627.

I got a message of a call from this number.  They didn't call me, but someone that knows me.  Have now idea how, or why they called them. The caller claimed it was an urgent call and they needed to speak to me or my representative.  This could be another, more advanced, scam call from those, scammings innocent people for money.  Like the scam e-mails, and other scam calls.  Else they use the same tacktics.

I got a message Tuesday Nov. 18 from a Mr. Miller from CRA for my ex-husband for 18 years who has never lived at this number or even been to my address. He stated he wanted a statment for a file # 556564. I'm glad I didn't call the number back, after reading all the posts on how it is a scam. I don't even know where my ex-husband lives or his number.

We received a phone call today. Representative was extremely rude and my father hung up on him after he became hostile and aggresive. He did write down the number and I researched it because I knew it wasn't legit. They stated that the company was CRS. I called the number and asked for the company name; I then hung up. The rep phoned me back and yelled at me for calling his office and then hanging up. He proceeded to get verbally aggressive with me as well. I hung up again, he called my house back again and threatned me with action. What a joke. These folks have no business acumen whatsoever. Its 100% fraud and they know it. Information is at your fingertips these days so dont give this [***] a penny or the time of day
