- tim"the campaign of" called this evening, unsolicited call, when answered, the presumed gentleman asked for another party not of this address, when i said no, i asked who they were, they said "a charity" and left the rest "as assumed", when asked to provide more information, they hung up.
i phoned the number back and was asked to be added to their "internal do not call list" as if this preceded the "national do not call list" asking for "me" to leave a name, and number, from this i then hung up,
as part of a registered party on the do not call list, i beleive that this "registered telemarketer" is using the available access they have by having to register on the do not call list to call "this" household as it is so registered, by using the do not call list in reverse of its intent is a lack of cognitive behaviour on their part- Caller: the campaign of
- KevinCalled the number back and left message to have my number added to do not call - we'll see what happens.

- penquinbumThese scum bags phone almost daily, usually at lunch or dinner. They are selling tickets to old timer's hockey games, flea circuses....whatever. Some of the money raised may go to a worthy cause. These are not registered charities and therefore ARE covered by the DNC list.I have already filed 2 complaints with the CRTC....do they ever go after these weasels?
FYI: I have a Panasonic cordless phone system at home and if you have call display you can program it to block up to 30 numbers. These turds are on it. The phone rings once and then cuts off with the message "Call blocked". It is so nice to see it work. If you have a fairly recent home phone see if yours has the same feature.....a good reason to peruse the manual.- Caller: the campaign office

- Mrs AngryI get a lot of calls from these people. Made the mistake of responding once. They really try to make you feel bad if you say no. Now I have almost got the kids trained NOT to pick up if they see "The Campaign Of" on the caller display. I say "almost," a call got through the junior defence line the other day and I had to say No repeatedly, they were all polite and upbeat until they realized I meant it. I am growing increasingly resentful of the licence given to charities to fundraise in this obnoxious manner.

- T& KHe called with a very friendly voice, hinting that we were old friends, but... none of my friends have an 1-877 number
He asked for K- then proceeded to tell K that he was returning a call from a previous conversation about "old timers" hockey and charity shows for kids. K was trying to interrupt him to stop but the guy kept going- so K hung up.
This guy has the audacity to call back and agressively ask K " why did you hang up?" Whe K responded with I was trying to interrupt you and explain something, he then asked "what did you want to say" he K started to explain that we were not able to support this charity at the present time- thy guy launched into another rant about the good of the charity. K hung up again. The guy called back but we would not answer. (they must use off duty collectors for loan sharks to do the calling. We have a note by each phone with the number 877-389-9712 with DO NOT ANSWER next to it.- Caller: old timers hockey" & charity shows for kids

- AJust got a call from this number and ignored it because I figured it was just a telemarketer, it left an annoying beep on my machine. I called it back, some woman answered saying "campaign office". I said I was just calling to see who had called me and she said ran something off about it being for a police retiree campaign...when I said oh okay, she tried to continue and then realized I didn't want to hear it, said to have a good day and hung up.
- P. StephensonI was out, no message left from this caller. Number was on CID display today, May 2, 2012. No information found using call reverse lookup online. I am registered with National Do Not Call List.

I requested something sent by mail and recieived a fancy letter and envelop from them requesting the money I had promised on the phone. I checked them out on the web and they are NOT a registered charity. This phone number appears on their letter but I do not have call display and do not know if theat was the number used for the initial contact.
- Caller: police retirees of ontario
- CallCynicProfessional fundraisers requesting donations for the Police Retirees of Ontario P.R.O. Hero [Teddy] Bear Campaign. I suspect it's legit, but sometimes the contracts for these "professional" fundraisers lead to their getting almost all of the money. One example (see 416-238-1249) reports retaining $1.5M of $1.7M collected. I requested to be removed from their call list, which will be good for the next 3 years. I overlooked requesting to be stricken from ALL of their call lists, because they can still call for other clients.
- Caller: Professional fundraisers
- Cindy MowatCalled 9:16 PM Police retirees? I hung up.
