yes, they said i was a person of interest in a civil law suit.....her closing was GOOD LUCK!?

It is Jacobson and associates aka marval and associates. they are a junk debt collector and they like to resort to shady collection practices such as, acting like police, acting like lawyers and threatening with lawsuits. They violate the Fair debt collection act constantly and to even threaten like that without stating they are a debt collector is a violation. They also like to leave messages on other peoples answering machines and at work which is also a violation and is also defamation of character.

How can you make them STOP calling your place of business? they also called my sister and left a message saying they are the Harris County district office - which scared her - but anyway - how do you stop their harassing calls TO MY JOB??

I just got a call from this same number 877-397-9471, and the person stated she was Investigator Vian Banks who was calling from the Hidago County Sheriff Department - can't believe two different counties have the same number.  Funny thing I just called my sister in law who is Deputy with the Hidalgo Sheriff Department and apparently this person does not exist...... wonder if there is something I can do for a person inpersonating a public servant like a County Investigator in our area.

They are supposed to stop calling your place of work if your employer forbids such calls for all employees as policy and you inform the collector but abusive collectors may not honor it.

They called my work aswell and the guy said he was Max Powers with some attorneys offfice and to avoid and civil suit i need to make a payment to them asap.  He said the original balance was $685 but they would take $300to end it or if i couldn't do that they would accept 3 payments of $150?  Since i found out who they were I called them up asked them why i get calls saying they are from an attorneys office.  The guy said he couldn't answer that and asked if it was an indian sounding guy. Told him no. He put me on hold when I told him to stop calling my work, trying to transfer me to the the Attorney who keeps calling me....  What a scum of a company with probably illegal collection practices.  You need to report them everytime they call your work.  They are at the bottom of the collection barrell.. Tell them to sue you and to stop calling..  Document everytime they call back.  Lets also document online their names and where they say they are from..
mine was Max Powers from some? attorneys office re: a civil suit..  Max! bite me.

You can stop being a dead beat peace of [***] and pay your bills. Then they wont need to call you!

This number calls my phone at all hours of the day and night and most of the time doesn't leave a message.  The one time they left a voice mail, saying I was in a civil suit and needed to contact them immediately, I returned their call immediately and was placed on hold while they would transfer me to the person that called and left the message.  I was on hold for 50 minutes.  I hung up and called back, the same thing happened.  The same thing happens every time.  How am I supposed to find out what it is about if no one will talk to me, or they keep placing me on hold??

I just got a call and the caller id said Hope Calladah but the lady said her name was investigator Coles from my local county . Is this legit ???

i just rechecked my caller id and the name was Coldallah,Hope i tried to call back and ask for her but was put on hold for like 20 minutes is this a scam or a collection agency or some kind of law enforcement i would be grateful for any help anyone could give me

I received a call from them today. They left a voicemail, a lady stating she was Ms. Perry and was a mediator for Jacobson & Associates and she received legal documentation with my name and SSN on it. She said she needed a Deposition of Intent on my behalf before the civil claim was made in Thurston County (the county I live in). She contintued on with a reference number and stated that I had been notified as of 1600 EST

Is this legit? Is it really a "medator" or someone possing as one, how would you be able to tell?

my sister got a call today from a man saying to be matthew davis from jacobson and associates. He says that she is a person of interest and her statement is imperative before the claim can be formalized against me.. ive had debt collectors call before but none like this is it a bogus scam the number was 877-397-9471 ext 121

I agree, if you all didn't have unpaid debt then bill collectors like these people wouldn't have to call you at all. And contrary to popular belief it is not illegal to contact a debtor at their job. If you put your request in writing then it must be honored. Per law FDCPA section 10 title VIII

Got one today from Don Vertelli (sp) Jacobson & Assoc. 877-397-9471 but he called me from 877-423-6009.  Said they had my name and social and if I didn't respond in 48 hours there was going to be legal action filed thru Dallas County

Received several calls from same number- from a Matt Davis who claimed he needed a call back ASAP pertaining to a civil lawsuit and also mentioned the county we live in. SCAMMERS!!!
