I just got a call from Melissa yesterday, x245. I totally bought it at first because I had signed up for a few drawings in the past, and I thought this may have just been a pour-over or something. maybe a drawing for the people who didn't win the original grand prize. She said, I have won either a Lincoln Navigator, $2500, a 32-inch plasma tv, or a trip to vegas. She said that if i CHOSE to take the navigator that they would have the right to publish my name and likeness. (fine with me, i thought!)...
I finally got it out of her that i wasn't guaranteed to win the car, but she kept insisting that i won one of the 4 prizes, and which one I walked away with could only be determined on the actual date of the "celebration". She said there were 12 winners for the contest, and that the celebration tonight would determine what prize each person walked away with. Still, I was sold. a 1-in-12 chance of winning a car? with a consolation prize of $2500 cash or a TV, I was still in.
I only found this site because i tried looking up the company that was sponsoring the prizes. Couldn't find anything, so i then googled the phone number, thinking i could reverse-search for it. I found this site and it saved me a ton of wasted time.
Also, she said you had to be 28 years or older, married or cohabitating, with a joint income of over $60,000. This threw me off a little, but I figured I had accidentally checked a box that I didn't mean to, and it was some loophole they were trying to get through so they didn't have to give away a car.
man was I pissed when i found this out. How can we get back at these people? If they slip up and give false information, can we sue or report them to the BBB or something? there HAS to be something illegal about this.
