Jacobson & Associates is a legitimate Collections Firm. Many times, there have been complaints from disgruntled employees. But, the fact is that if you don't follow the rules you lose your job.
    Unfortunately, J&A is bound by the terms of the law and must treat consumers accordingly. People have hard times and can't pay back loans that they took out, that's when a firm steps in. It's never comfortable to have someone call every reference # that you provided when you took out the payday loan. But, that's why you provided the #'s to begin.  
    However, people that take initiative to handle their responsibilities almost never have problems with any collections firm. That is a FACT...

Lose your job over a pay day loan? Your response is ignorant at best and you are obviously an empolyee. This company is a scam and are claiming they are a legal firm when they are clearly a scuzzy collections agency not following rules that they should be by law.

I know it is not legal to use scare tactics, saying they are conducting a criminal investigation. Using a Unit # and a county name.

Called and left a vague message regarding a civil matter in Pierce County. I have not lived in Pierce County for sometime or even in that state. I am thinking this is a scam otherwise when you call back you could speak to a person or access the extention. I work for a collection agency and I know the rules and regulation and the information they should leave.

Apparently they were looking for someone that had a debt outstanding. They were infantile, evasive, and just plain annoying. After answering their questions I returned their calls several times. It was at this time that the higher up on the shift got on the phone and told me he was removing my number from the call list.
I will wait and see how that works out before responding legally and taking them to court for. I have nothing but time, and sometimes enjoy these little distractions. I wouldn't want that job for all the money in the world. Imagine, not being able to say who you represent, what the nature of your call is, and lying about your name and business. They must produce that type of person in a test tube........

I also have just received a vague call regarding an investigation regarding a "Christine First(s)" that is moving to Pierce County wants me to call back but when I have no idea as to who this person is I will not call back.  The investigator that called is a George Cristo from Jacobsen & Assoc.  I can find no information on this Cristo person or the firm.  The call back number in the message was 800-440-2297,  Which is a different from the 877 number that the call came from.

Yeah J&A is a very legitimate company. That's why they call people and accuse them of fraud if there's a problem with their payment. Or, as one guy told me when he couldn't process my payment: "credit card denial across state lines!"  Umm okay, and that's a crime?  This company uses illegal scare tactics that are in violation of the law. That is a FACT...

Actually, I think it's unfortunate that Jacob & Associates is bound by the terms of the law and DOES NOT treat consumers accordingly. They lie, threaten law suits when none exists, accuse people of fraud if their payment doesn't clear, and a host of other scare tactics that they are not permitted by law to engage in.  In addition, they're a bunch of [***] to boot!

They called me had my social security number, my home information and work info and said that they want to work it out before they take it to the courts and I told him that's fine once my lawyer gets this info we will take care of it. The woman said her name was Ms Cole from the Investigation Department about fraud. I had someone steal my identity and it was horrible and this woman thinks I am going to give out my information she is dead wrong... I have filed with the FCC against these people.

This is a harrassment. They keep calling and saying they are the chief of police. I went to city police and they said, they don't call people in debt .

Yep, They keep calling even at work, saying they are case managers, or sheriff. Interrupting our work while eveyone is busy attending to emergencies. This is a harrassment.

Just got a call from this number saying that i was being summoned to appear in court i am being sued that my attorney needs to call back to discuss this matter. Where did these ppl get my phone number???

These people are a collection agency, using whatever threats that they think will work to try to get some money for a debt(usually an unpaid payday loan). Even if thay do follow through with there threats of turning it over to the county courts, it would never be prosecuted by the District Attorney because it was a payday loan and not a hot check. in order for the DA to prosecute for HOT CHECK he has to show that the accused had intention of not paying back the payday loan when it was applied for and recieved. So no worries, threaten all you want. I have a call filter app on my Droid phone and every time you call from a new number i just add it to a list of numbers that my phone automatically hangs up on.

DO NOT give these people any of your information.  This is a complete fraud. I have no debt and they called my phone and used a ploy that someone used a stolen check from ME to pay a debt.  Sorry idiots, I dont have checks, not for about 4 years now.  I'm a police officer so I called them and asked what their address was and the first thing he wanted was my name and social ("to pull up my case") YA RIGHT. Of course I didn't give it to them and asked what their address was? They wouldnt give it to me.  Any LEGITIMATE business will have no problem giving you their address.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO, thats what they are hoping to get OUT OF YOU is your name and social security number so they can use it.  

PS: Called the Fed. Cyber special investigation team in Utah (where I have friends) and reported them.

Called my land line looking for my ex husband; said that he applied for a job with them and # got disconnected; don't have to lie to kick it! Will call back tomorrow and send a cease and desist letter!!

Got a phone call from this number and was told that if I didn't pay 125.00 today that they would send out drug dogs and 2 suited officers to my house!!!!
