- paypal_hosedI suspect this is a scumbag collection agency, given some of the commentary here. "Sarah" claimed to be from PayPal's security office and asked for a callback to 877-966-1127, which is always busy (or dis-connected).

- DeborahCalled my personal cell phone stating I was past due on my Lowe's account over $1000 and did I want to take care of that today by phone on credit card. I told her I had no idea what she was talking about, I didn't have an account and my business account is paid in full every month. Told her I was on vacation and to call my Assistant Manager. No one ever called.
- Andy replies to CowboyThis is from GE Money. They are a credit card company owned by General Electric. They manage several different kinds of credit cards, including several department store cards. GE Money's call center is located in North Canton, Ohio in the Belden Village area about a block behind the US post office. I know someone who works there and this phone number shows up on my caller ID when they call me.
- MichaelReceived call. Long pause then ask for head of household. Told them me and want to know if I want their WalMart Discover card. Told them no. Thought it was a scam then I realized it was a true call. Then they try to bribe you into other calls and want your other credit cards you own creditor names. Told them to cancel my application and remove from calling list. Friendly though I have to say!!

- Phineas T. McDouchebag| 1 replyGot a call from them Sat morning about 11 a.m. It was from GE Money. They're a credit card co. owned by General Electric, which also owns NBC. I had applied for a credit card online at ShopNBC.com. They were just calling to ask questions about/verify my application.
They ask 3 or 4 questions that are multiple-choice and are based on public records... but things that fraudsters wouldn't know. For instance, they ask "In what county is 123 Main Street?" (which would have been a previous address of yours).
When you apply, it says you'll be considered for the ShopNBC MasterCard (or was it Visa?) and if you're not approved for it then you'll be considered for the ShopNBC credit card, which can only be used for their stuff they sell on their ShopNBC TV channel. The response I got back after I submitted my app online was that I'd be notified by mail of their decision, which I thought meant I was denied for both cards. But after they asked their questions over the phone, they said "Congratulations, you're approved".- Caller: GEMB / GE Money Bank

Oh, and my phone is on the National Do Not Call Registry - has been for 3 years. What the hell is the point of the DNC registry, if these money grabbing scumbags can just call you at ANY hour (6am for me) of the day and hassle you? Where is the justice???? - Do Not Call MeFunny we went to the ATT store a few says ago. Now we get this call and the number has been on the no call list. So I figure ATT sold the information or this is tied to them some how. The girl said she was from GE and just started asking questions. We have zero policey at my home. No information goes out from the phone and the people that walk up to the house are just as bad. What kind of place do we live that we are scared to answer our phones. I want money back from the no call lists that sue these people. I don't do business with GE and never will.
- Caller: GE
- Do Not Call Me| 3 repliesThey just called again. From GE Money. They have a special offer we hung up on them. I bet this is a friend of A T T type business that thinks they can bypass the DNC list. I will do yet another file to the Federal DNC list. We will NEVER buy anything that has the name GE on it. God bless this country. We can't even get this right. Thanks for this page.
- Caller: GE Money
- mad| 6 repliescalling and calling and no message ever left on machine
- AnnoyedThey've called 6 times in a row and it's 8 am. Finally, called back and heard their from a GE company so I hung up... a minute later they're calling back asking for a person with my same last name and when I say there's no one here they ask me for my name... Yeah good luck with that. I told them to stop harassing me or else I would call the police. She apologize and I hung up. We'll see how long that last.

- conference caller| 1 replyHere's what I do to get them off my back - since they seem to never totally go away. I was first bothered by these folks about 9 months ago and ignored it for a while. Then I did the normal harassing calls back at them by dialing back and taking up their time. (Typing on the keypad when they ask for your account number is always a good way to keep them on and pass on a little of the frustration.) A couple weeks ago I started getting them again. This time I meant business - it is easy to conference call with the iphone so I'd call them, call them again, merge, call them again, merge, call them again, merge, call them again, merge, and then sit back and listen to the confusion as 5 people try and figure out what's going on. It only took a couple times of doing that before my phone went quiet. Ahhh peace. For those who can be deadpan about it - I've always wanted to play along as being from their IT department and tell them to fix the problem they need to turn off their computers for 5-10 minutes. So much fun for me, and the way I look at it, it is probably fun for them too. (I bet it wouldn't take too many people doing this to totally swamp their system.)
