Just curious who this might be, just says Toll Free Call on the ID...

This number just called my DNC listed land line today at 1158 hours.  It only rang once.  If, as other people are reporting, this is a debt collector, then they have the wrong number or they are trying to find one of my in-laws.

This call 8774343831 came on my landline but luckily it was distorted and caller could not complete his message. Guess they were the ones spammed.

This number called my DNC listed land line again today at 1001 hours.  As I had already blacklisted the number as a potential scam/spam or a debt collector looking for someone who doesn't live here, the call was automatically disconnected by my device.  This time, I called them back to find out who it is and found out it is Charter Communication.  I told the man that I had told them previously to stop calling.  He allegedly put my number on their internal DNC list - again.

Just got the same call from 877-434-3831.  It was Charter Communications trying to get me to upgrade my cable TV package into something even more overpriced.

These flaming idiots called me again today at 1304 hours!  I just told them a couple of days ago to stop calling and I told them previously not to call.  Grrr!  It's unfortunate that Charter has our entire town in the stranglehold of a monopoly or I'd gladly chuck their crappy, overpriced service.  (Amazing how monopolies aren't supposed to be legal in the United States and yet cable companies regularly engage in them and are allowed to do so.  I have to wonder how many politicians have had their palms liberally greased to allow that travesty of justice.)

I already have Charter Cable, and don't need anything more from them - pain in the xxx they've become with these sales calls...

Y'all just do what I do - if you don't already have Caller ID on your landline get it. And when a number shows up on the display that you don't recognize - simply don't answer the phone. And by all means, if you can block unwanted numbers, then do so - add the number to your ~Reject~ list. I do that on my cell phone, but can't on my landline...

The thing to do is get a landline phone that allows you to block unwanted numbers...

Brain-dead Charter calling me yet again on 09/08/14 @ 1926 hours.  This was the second call for that day and after they were previously told quite adamantly to STOP calling.  I'm sure they'll try to use the "it takes 30 days for your number to be removed from our list" excuse but to call the same number repeatedly two days after reminding them that I had previously told them to stop calling takes things to a whole 'nother level of obnoxiousness.

Getting numerous calls from this number.  Thanks to previous posts for letting me know who it is that calls (my last call came at 08:15am today)...my TN is supposed to be on the DNC list; however, they keep calling AND they don't leave a message.  

I'm getting anywhere from 2 to as many as 5 calls a day from this number. I called the number back and got a recording which said "You have called after hours, please call again" and that's all the recording said...

So is this really Charter Cable? I say that because if it was legit (Charter Cable) sales call, you'd think they would identify themselves as Charter Cable in the recording I got...

Has anyone else got the same or similar recording when they have called back?

Plus, when I have got calls from Charter it indicates Charter Cable in the Caller ID display on my landline...

I'm treating this as I would any Unknown Caller type calls - ignore it...

Is is a scam? Very likely it is, and should be treated as such...

Who reaally knows if it's Charter Cable calling - treat it as a scam call - likely that's just what it is...

I get calls to my cell phone, from this number a couple times a day. The first couple times I answered it but no one ever says a word. I have finally just quit answering!

rang twice then hung up on cell...IF, as the others have posted, it is Charter..then when u called back u would get the typical Charter recording of "press 2...press1..".  So i would say this was a SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!..plus, Charters number is 888-GET-CHARTER.

This number calls at least once a day.  From other comments on hereI see it is Charter, they need to check their own service map and realize that we are not in the service area and stop calling.

Charter Cable called to offer a deal on Internet

877-434-3831 called our cell phone which is listed on the National Do Not Call Registry.  The man said he was from Charter.  It was a sales pitch call.

Keeps calling my cell phone.  I do not answer as I do not know who the entity is.  Does anyone know what the company name or entity is?

Says it is Charter, wondering if I will set up an account with them after closing my previous account. Told them I moved out of state and not handling my household's cable/internet. They have called three times now. Blocking.
