Pick up to onhold music.  After 45 seconds call is connected but I didn't wait around to find out who was on the other end.

They called my company and asked for the owner of the company, they said they where from GSA Access Group.....I transferred them to our fake employee!

Fake employee!!! Love that idea - I think I'll make one up too!!! :)

Same outfit, said they were calling about Government Staffing contract business.  I told him we weren't interested and he said the owner of my company would have to make that decision.  I told him I make these decisions for my company and he said "whatever I'll just call back".  Can't wait for his next call, think I'll have some fun with this idiot.

Received call and no one talked

I received a call from 877-436-7161 at 11:59 am today. This is the second call from this group in the last week.  They claim to be GSA Government Contracts. He said his company could get government contracts for our business.

For both calls, when I answered and said, "hello", music began to play, which sounded like a Mexican hat dance, or Flamenco dance number. When I said "hello" the second time, some fellow said he name was Sanjay or Sunjay. He sounded like he was from India. He asked to speak with the owner, and I said that I couldn't understand him, as his accent was strong. He hung up on me.

This number called my cell phone on 8/18.  Left no message.

Thanks for your post!  This puts it all together.  I used to get hangups from this number 2 years ago - but one day I did talk to a person who said they were will "Government Staffing" and wanted to know if I wanted to do business with the government.  I asked, "State or Federal?"  He slowly answered, "Federal" as if he didn't expect the question.  I told him our company already works exclusively with Federal Contracts and asked what he was offering.  He got off the phone quick.

Now, I'm getting the calls back again.  I think the must have purchased a new set of phone numbers.  I appreciate your post with the actual company name - saved me a boat load of time.

Same GSA Government Contract scam. Indian woman this time. I had some fun by asking her which government contract she was calling about. Each time I asked the question she had to go back to the beginning of her script and repeat it again. I'd vary the question by saying things like "can you give me a contract number?" which again sent her back to the beginning of her script.

877-436-7161 these posts don't make sense,,, this number does not work,,, goes to music on hold and no one answers.... this is a non-working number

A guy with an Indian accent called me. My cell shows 011. Looks like an international call. He said he would offer a discount for my gas. He knows my phone and address. He asked for my Washington Gas account number. I felt suspicious and told him I would call back.

Dont take their calls.  They are a rip off.  It's owned by a couple of guys that once did students loans several years ago until B of A stopped buying loans from them do to questionable business practices.  And yes, the calls are from India, then transferred to call center in Florida.  

I worked for them several years ago and found out in short order that it was a border line scam and got out as quickly as I could.  

Do your home work and you will find better options.

I have read some of the comments, now the above number is a power utility company. Sounds like they are calling from India or Asia somewhere.  I trying to explain I do not get a utility bill and don't waste my time, take me off your call list and hung up.

They called the bar I work at, could barely understand her, claimed to be from electric company. Needed another contact number, already know this scam!! Laughed at her said I have caller I.D. and your attempting to scam elderly owners, I will have them call their power company. Who will then call the police and warn everyone locally. Hang up and call your power company from a different phone.

Lady from India (in very broken English) claimed to be from AEP utility company. Wanted payment or power would be shut off at 3PM. She wanted account #. Problem is we don't have AEP as our vendor, never did.

Yup, someone in a foreign accent called 3 times in the last week about our electric bill.  Told him all 3 times not interested and take our name off your list.  As you can see it didn't work.  Next time I will just slam the phone down.

This is hysterical!!! I think I may try that when I accidentally answer a spam call.

Keeps calling in regular intervals.
Switched my main number to magic jack and let it run into voicemail. Never leaves message (As do others)
Since I use the magic jack app, I can check at the end of the day whether it is somebody I know and listen to possible messages from people still dialing my old main business number.
System works flawlessly, although I would like to pick up at times to play with them. Just no time to have fun with these idiots!
