What is wrong with this world?!
I had been receiving nonstop calls from this number begining in October 2007.  They very rudely told me I had a debt with Direct Merchant's Bank from six years ago and they were instructed to collect that debt!  I called Direct Merchant's and HSBC and they told me they never had a collections associated with my accounts and that the card "Ellman & Cooper" referenced was actually canceled by them due to inactivity and I had a "0" balance when they canceled!!!

This "Law" office went on to threaten me and said they would settle this fictitious balance for approx. $1,200.  I forwarded the letter from Direct Merchant's and HSBC to the [***] Law Firm confirming there was never a collection against me and they still continue to call. I did leave a message and basically told them to "F-OFF!" Of course they hear that every day and couldn't care less...

    The calls continue...

I am receiving calls from 877-439-8800 for an Albert Ferdinand with a reference number to retrieve a confidential urgent message. I can not get rid of these calls so I called that number and it is a law office. I even spoke with someone there who connected me to a very rude man who hung up on me. I will call the police and file harrassment charges against this office.

They keep calling me (with a recorded message) asking for someone that has the same last name as me.  But I am not related.  I have asked to be removed with no success.  877-439-8800 says they are a debt collector.  I talked to a warm body (miss jane) and they actually had a record of my previous request and they still could not explain why it was still dialing me.  I asked to speak to the "attorney" who was gone for the day (NY) and she tried to connect me with the California office and I was connected with "Moshe" who claimed to be an attorney.  I asked for their address to send a cease and desist letter.  He wouldn't give it to me, stating "that isn't necessary, I will take care of this by tomorrow, top priority."  We'll see.

I didn't receive a call but have had this number show up on my bank statement wanting to take 150.00 out of my checking account.  I have notified the police and cancelled my card.  Waiting for banks to open in morning since they are not open today(Martin Luther King day).  The transaction is still in the pending stage.  BEWARE of your accounts.

I do not answer numbers that I do not reconize. But have googled and found that this is Eltman, Eltman & Cooper, PC claiming to be at 140 Broadway 26th floor, NY,NY 10005-1108. Numbers also 212-660-3100 or toll free 1-866-266-9498. They are collecting on debts that are way charged off and way beyond the statute of limitations. These companies need to be stopped. It is hard enough to servive in these days. I am on the do not call list. It seems that these people are conning people. People know your rights! And stand up to them. Time to fight back! Beware!

I am glad you realize that it is a job, one that you can lose any time. Lets see how you feel when hard times hit you and you can't pay your debts. Don't be so quick to judge people. I am sure that those whom you are harrasing wish that they could pay just to get rid of you. Just in case you haven't heard, harassament is against the FTC rules and I will advise everyone out there to know the Laws of  collection practices and the statue of limitations on debts. File a complaint with the Attorney Generals office of your State and with the State where their office exist if it in fact does. There are a lot of scammers out there and 9 times out 10 that is exactly what it is. If the statue of limitations is up do-not talk to them  about the debt if in fact exisit because a it will re-start the statues over again. They also cannot threaten you or call you names as David is doing. You have rights and you should always exercise them as they can and will be stopped.
