- oz replies to lj| 1 replySo is it a scam or what? Same thing happened to me.
- Brad replies to ozWas it Mr Fraim?
- Maggie replies to lj| 1 replyI got a call too it was from a different number though, I think he said his last name was Fraiser and that he had a summons to serve me for bad checks. He said if I had questions to call 8774427988. I called and says its a place called Titan. They were closed so I left a message. My sister in law says a guy named ed johnson called her and told her I was being investigated for bad checks as well. I am like "what the heck is all this about" not sure if its a scam or what! Plus I thought debt collectors couldn't disclose that kind of information to third parties.
- MaddogI write one check a month and it is to my landlord. It has never bounced. I do not write bad checks and my bank would have notified me if there had been bad checks written against my account. This is very creepy. Thomas Frasier is the name he is using but mentions no affiliation. Most likely a scam of some kind.

- BettMeMoreI just received a call from a soft-spoken man asking for my daughter, and when I said she was not available, he asked if he could leave me with a message. I started writing as he was saying he needed her to call 877-442-7988, and that it was referring to a particular claim number. Then, I barely read the claim number and phone number back to confirm when he began offering up that he was "asked to serve her a summons tomorrow for the client to take her to court and that he assumes she would rather not have to do that. BUT... that if she called that number and gave them the claim number she could most likely work out a settlement...". Then when I asked him the name of the person(s) prosecuting, he said "The name of the claimant is The Titan Group and that if she speaks with them before the day is over she should be able to avoid the court proceedings and hassles..."
I know she does not have anything like that hanging over her, and several months ago another group (female, different names and phone numbers) pulled a similar stunt on her, plus I have dealt with similar calls in the past so I decided to Google the name and phone number. It just seemed fishy that he would volunteer so much details when it is illegal and violates privacy laws. And right away I landed on this page. I just want to add our call to the list and warn others to stay clear-headed when calls like this come in. This scamming sharks rely on the fear factor and assume if they get at least 2-3 "live ones" a day, they can collect more money tax-free than any of us make in an honest day of work.- Caller: Unsure, but claimed was for The Titan Group

- CarolinagirlOn 8/9/10, My mother-in-law got a call from this number (877-442-7988) stating they were looking for my daughter to serve a summons for collection of a debt. My daughter was to call Thomas Frazier at the above number and mention the docket number. My mother-in-law gave me the information and I called, pretending to be my daughter. I knew my daughter did not have any past due debt. The person that answered the phone said "Titan Group". I asked to speak with Thomas Frazier and he said no one was there by that name. This person would not give his name or any other information. He transferred me to Mr. Maricelli. He said let me get some information from you and asked for my (her) SSN. I said you called me, tell me what you have and who are you representing. He said are the last digits of your SSN 2220. I said no and preceding to tell him I do not owe anyone, remove any numbers pertaining to me from his records and don't call me or anyone else looking for me. He said, we obviously have the wrong person since this is not your SSN. We will remove your name from the list. This is not the end. On 8/13/10, my niece got a call (voice message) from a Mr. Mahoney at 877-568-8296 and told to call to avoid being served court papers. When she called, no one was there by that name but she was transferred to Mr. Ed Marinelli with FRS. It was basically the same stuff as with my daughter. ALL OF THIS IS A SCAM AND A SEARCH TO OBTAIN AS MUCH INFORMATION ABOUT YOU AS THEY CAN. Please beware.

- Dem0niI just got back from my mother's house after she played a message from Brad Johns claiming he'd been looking to find me to serve me papers for a summons to court. the claim notice he gave me was 520103 and said that it was about writing bad checks. Of course, soon as I got home i fired up Google and found this page, MUCH to my relief! I haven't had a checking account in over 3 years, nor have I ever had my name on any paper checks, it's always been money order or nothing. I've already notified my friends on Facebook about this, just in case any are less wise and believe everything they're told.

- mad mommaI got this phone call from a company they said is Allstate litigation. they claim to be a small law firm located in phoenix Arizona and said that my husband needed to call them back before 2pm or she was going to have to come to my house with the police and serve a summons. She said good luck and that he could avoid going to jail if he made arraignments to take care of this debt. So i told my husband and he called them back right and they told him that they were willing to settle out of court and he could make payments every two weeks. my husband owed a bill years ago and he believed that this was a real company that was going to put him in prison if he did not pay. so he agreed and gave them my credit card number. Then a week later my husband gets another call from a man with a strong Indian accent he told my husband that he had a warrant for my husband for a pay day they that he received online, the man said that the loan was added to our bank account. the name that he gave for our bank was the name of a bank that we had a prepaid visa through. We never used that prepaid- visa ever. the man started to yell and said that he was coming to our house with the police. my husband then called the bank and verified that there had never been any transactions on that card. the man called back 30 mins later. my husband told him that he spoke with the bank and that he believed that it was a fraudulent call the man because cursing and then hung up. the name of his company he said he work for was American law division. after that phone call i got curious and started looking into Allstate litigation I ended up here they are a scam do not trust them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 i have cancelled my credit card and this morning they actually called me and they wanted more money. so asked her to give me some kind of proof. She quickly became angry and then hung up that phone

- dlcGot a phone call at work this morning regarding court papers. Was told to call 877-568-8296 After reading these posts I am going to call and tell them I am reporting them. Thanks for all the posts.
- ?????I have received a call from these people. Allstate Litigation. The first call was a message from a lady saying someone was suing me and my case number was yada yada yada. I called the number she gave me and a lady (Courtney Miles) got on the phone who was kinda pushy. I told her I had been burned before and was "gun shy" about this whole thing. She told me she understood and began to try and talk to me like we were friends for years. I told her I would call her back when I got home. I indeed called her back asking again where they were located. She told me Phoenix Arizona. After telling her I wanted something e-mailed to me she put me on hold only to come back and tell me she couldn't send me anything until I had paid in full. She then put me on hold and a man named Mike Davis got on the phone and told me was the manager and could he help me. I told him the same things I told her and he said he didn't understand why she told me that and he would check with the attorneys to see what he could do. I asked for a website address and he giggled saying he didn't know it but would ask IT what it was. I told him that being a police officer I know its law for them to send me something in writing within 5 days. He put me on hold to talk to the attorneys. He came back and told me they would put a hold on the litigations and said the attorney wanted my badge number to put in my file. I told him I was not going to give out that information. Strange thing is, he never asked what department I work for so my badge number wouldn't do him any good anyway. He said they would call me on Monday. Guess we will wait and see!
I FEEL WHOLE HEARTEDLY THAT THIS IS A SCAM!!!!- Caller: Allstate Litigation
