caler introduced herself as "investigator ocean"

this number was given to a neighbor who received a call from a person identifying themself as Investigator Jody Ocean. my neighbor was told that if he saw me or my vehicle outside to call. am I wrong, or does this border on defamation because they implied that they were going to repo my truck? they never stated who they were with, or what company they were working for.

this lady calls my house sounding like a man.telling me that my friend has stolen a car and if i see them to call them..so i call the number in the lady jody has no idea that she even callled me.she says she calls alot of ppl everyday and needs my number.im like well how did u get my number in the frist place??then i tell her im calling the police on you and reporting you to the b.b.b and she is like have a good day.if anyone has problems with this number plz write comments so we can get then out of business.

We got a message from a neighbor with this number, from someone named "Josie Ocean", and saying that she was looking for a relative of mine. I know my relative has not stolen a car, and I left a message saying that if they EVER called another neighbor, or me, I would make her life a LIVING HELL.

My elderly mother got a voicemail from someone at this number identifying herself as investigator Josie Ocean from the Bank Fraud Department, and wanting to talk to her about her house.

I have been receiving calls from this number for quite some time.  I primarily use my cell phone for all my calls but got a landline through our cable service because of a promotion.  I recently set up the voicemail feature and received a message from "Special Investigator Jodie/Josie Ocean" from  1-877-449-2674.  She indicated her extension was x214484.  She was looking for a particular individual who does not live at my address.  I can only assume the number I was assigned by the cable company belonged to this individual at some time.  

I suspect Ms. Ocean is working up an investigation on failed car payments.  I have also been getting calls from BMW Finance asking for the same person.  So, clearly, this number is a collections agency.  

Despite repeated statements by myself and significant other that the individual they are looking for is no longer at our telephone number they continue to call.  I have now started a log and if they persists I am going to pursue criminal and/or civil prosecution.  It's fine that they call once or twice.  But once they were notified that their person can no longer be reached at my number they are obligated to stop calling.  

Clearly this "special investigator" is not very good at her job.  If she knew what she was doing she could easily find out that I am the owner of my telephone number and am registered as such.

I also called Ms. Ocean back.  When you call the number they introduce themselves as a Special Investigations Unit investigation fraud, etc.  They do not identify themselves.  You are asked to enter an extension, which I did.  You are then asked to identify yourself so your call can be announced.  I introduced myself as "Norm calling regarding Mr. XYZ."  I was directed to voicemail and left a message telling them that if they continue with these calls the only investigation they will be subject to is one by the district attorney.

I have rec'd 2 calls on my cell so far. I don't answer since I don't recognize the number. They have not left any messages. I was tempted to call from my work phone but that would porbably lead to them calling me here. I am going to see if my cell provider can block the number.

Got a voicemail today froma josie ocean in regards to bank fraud i find it kind of funny that they would be calling cause today is presidents day and banks are closed...not to mention that any major companies that are not a scam have their number available on your caller ID. If you ask me i think these people are fraud themselves and i would not suggest giving out any personal info. Oh and i called the number back like three times and they dont have the nerve to answer probably cause i left a message asking why the hell they were calling me. Hey if they call back, I will give a piece of my mind. Hope all of you reading did not fall prey. goodluck

I received a message on my cell phone from "Investigator Josie Ocean with Special Investigations" who stated she was calling me because I was "a point of contact regarding a complaint that had been filed in their office"...no information beyond that, just the callback number and extension: 877-449-2674, ext. 2482478.  Caller ID came up as 'Unknown Number' and that rarely happens.  Not sure yet where these people are but I saw one person mentioned Florida...I'm in Arizona.

I thought this sounded rather suspicious so decided to try and find some info on the Internet before I called back...I'm so glad you all posted and I'd love to know more! Anybody find out anything else about these people?

This freakin number keeps calling my house and leaving voicemails on my answering machine... Whoever the heck Josie Ocean is needs to stop calling my house!! Isnt there a way to pursue this to find out who these scammers are?? and maybe block the number/press charges. My wife answers tongiht and hung up on her 2 times, and she now tells us that we are "part of the investigation for hanging up" LOL what a joke!! I wish we could get this number blocked or something!!

I am in California, and just received a voicemail message from someone identifying herself as Josie Ocean from the "unit of special investigations, fraud and concealment division."  She said my name had "come up" in connection with an investigation and told me to call her at 877-449-2647 ext. 260424.  I tried calling back, but I get another voicemail message saying the "investigator" is unavailable and asking me to leave my name and telephone number.  I was suspicious when my wife told me that the caller made it sound as though she was with law enforcement, but did not identify the police department or federal agency she was with.  This sounds like some kind of collection agency or a scam to get personal information.  If anyone finds out more, please let me know.

I got one too, wanting me to check on a neighbor !! What's is going on ??

Wanted to me check on a neighbor's plate on her truck, saying she had embezzled money. gave me the neighbor's name, plate number and Josie , was the caller.

Not a collection agency people!  Listen to the information you are provided with!
