Debt Collector

After giving my phone number to the National Do Not Call Registry, I'm getting more daily calls from the above number and 503, and others of the same ilk.

they asked for my ss number and bank info and when i wouldnt give it they asked to speak to my roomate an told him that they needed his ss number to see if there was a legal suit pending against him and when he would not give that they said they could verify him by his bank info!!!!!!!! scammmmm need i say more cause neither of us have ever had anything to require legal action

They tried to collect on some gym membership, crazy how much they knew about me...funny how the supervisor was to scared to come online with me...wait you'll settle a debt of "$600" for only $96...really

Mean caller being very aggressive with a foreign accent.

Same thing with us!! They called and wouldn't speak to me at first because they asked for my husband and said it was regarding a "personal business matter" but I called back after I looked up the number. These same people were harassing us about 3 years ago about a Bally's gym membership from more than 10 years ago?! When they called us 3 years ago, I was working at a law firm and one of the paralegals had written a letter for us telling this company the statute of limitations in regards to collecting this debt...IDIOTS

Called our small non-profit office.  Told them to remove the number.  We are reporting and blocking all such numbers like this.

OMG, I am sooo glad I happened to google this number!!! Sad to see I'm not the only person it's happened to; they called me out of the blue for a $2000+ balance owed from 25+ years ago; I have never received any prior written or phone correspondence from Bally's or anyone else regarding any balance owed, not to mention the fact that I cancelled my monthly membership successfully with them all those years ago- $0 balance, end of subject. So, it appears we have a scammer if they are indeed asking for socials and bank info and what not. I will be contacting Bally's directly to report this matter to them so further action can be taken to get this matter resolved for all of us.

Same as above.  Why can't these people be shut down?

I have never even had a gym membership!!....didn't speak with them but called the number back and a recording told me they were debt collectors and tried to get you to leave personal information on the voicemail. I hung up....hope someone can make this stop!

Caller said only that he was calling from "a business". I told him until he identified himself and his business, I would not answer any questions. He persisted in asking questions so I told him this call was over, I was hanging up.

I'm beggining to wonder if the do not call registry has been hacked...or maybe they have budget issues and are selling phone numbers.   Anyway it does seem to have becaome a useless entity.

Just received a call from 877-482-3965 and he rattled off an address and asked if it was my current address and I said no. Then asked if it was an old address and i said simply yup. he then "so politely" hung up in ear! this is the 2nd call today from the same lame group. Caller's accent very thick and hard to understand.....I WANT THESE CALLS TO END!

Just got a call from these wretches - 7pm on a Saturday.  ID "Unavailable".  Talked to someone called Ahmed Singh, told him if he calls me again I will sue him.

Just got a call from these guys, they hung up when I picked up. Number was not blocked so I called them back and found out that they are calling me about a gym membership (Ballys) that I dropped 13 years ago. I know the law does not allow them to pursue this debt. This is a scam, don't give any info to these guys.

whats up with these people, same guy called me and said the same as everyone else. BALLYS. he said from a membership 24 years ago. I told him he was a scam and if he called back I will sue. then he said he would document it. then he hung up on me. scam scam scam.  are times that bad that people will do anything to get $$$$$$$$   SAD

The person asked for someone by the name of Jason Smith.  I told him he had the wrong number (which is true) and then he started saying the call was being recorded for quality control purposes and I hung up.  I have no idea what they wanted.  I just blocked them through my cell phone carrier.

Just got a call at 10:30PM from 877-482-3965.  After reading the above comments I have no idea what they might want as I've never had a gym membership from Bally's.  I get it that they're debt collectors and by calling me this late at night they are probably in violation of collection laws, I believe, unless those laws have been changed lately.  From the comments here, my guess is that they're operating from outside of the US, thinking they don't have to respect our laws.  Somebody should shut these weasels down!
