Left voicemail saying I need to call Johnny Lewis back. Spammer.

Got a call from this number and the message was left on our answering machine.
I kept playing it back and couldn't understand it - short and like it was from someone who was black and using ebonics. Weird! Super weird!

This same company has been calling me for at least a year or so. Many different "877" #'s &
different names to ask for. Some sound like the same guy using a different name.  

I *never* call the # back.  If they know so much about me they need to
put it in writing & send it in the mail.  They never say who they are let alone what they are calling
about.

Today's message was obviously prerecorded & was chopped off. Just part of the phone# &
'it was imperative to return his call'.   Ok I'll getg right on it.   Geesh...

... what a pack of jerks - if they think I'd give any information over the phone they're crazy.

Just got a message from John Lewis.  Said to call him back today.  It's "imperative".  Called back immediately, and was told he was at lunch.  The guy that answered asked for my phone number and I declined to give it.  Told him they just called me, so they have my phone number.  He then asked for my name, and again I declined to give it.  If you don't know who you are calling, then don't call.

I am about to go ballistic on these people.  They have been calling me for over a year now and will not stop.  This is a bogus call b/c they do not identify who they are calling for or where they are calling from.  The name changes every few weeks of who calls, but today it was Johnny Lewis and it is "imperative" I call him back.  I have tried to report this to my state's attorney general several times and have also tried to report it to the FCC - and they claim they can't trace the call, despite the fact that they give a number to call back at.  HOW THE F DO I STOP THIS CALL?????  They are seriously making me crazy.  I hope they all rot in hell.

Just received a call from "Johny Lewis". These IDIOTS keep calling just like stated above "Very important.....Imperative I call them back" always someone with a new name. I never call them back and NEVER will. They clearly are a problem and there must be something to do to stop thier BS!!!! If anyone figures out how to stop these IDIOTS, please post the solution.

My phone says the number 877-494-8744 called me.  Google voice says the call came from 847-960-4120 (an Illinois number.)  The caller was a man and he left a local number to call.

Called me too--just a bill collector that purchased a bill that is about 12 years old. Supposed to be off your credit after 7. Nothing you can do cause if you block the number, they call from another one and it cost to block numbers. Just calm down and laugh it off.

I don't answer and receive missed call. Sometimes it'll go to voicemail and the message is "4948744 It is Imperiative that I hear from you today, it is imperiative that you do so." I've returned the call before and they ask for phone number. I decline and the person gets upset. I ask for their name and the company's name and they get beligerent. The person will tell me "Well!, if you're not going to cooperate then I can't help you"
They hang up the phone.
I made the mistake of answering one day and the person wanted payment immediately for an account they said they bought from another company 9 years ago. I never had credit accounts 9 years ago and paid cash for everything. I told them if they gave me all the information I'd turn it over to my attorney and get back with them.
Then person raised there voice and started saying that I didn't have a right to do that and they were going to sue, etc. to get payment.
I just kept asking for the company's address, fax and email and they kept declining and finally the person on the other end went arghh! and slammed the phone and hung up.

You know, the company that was recently sued by the Colorado Attorney General for collecting without a license, that collects debts that don't exist, that calls people (who don't have debts) and threatens to throw them in jail if they don't give up their money.

Here's how you handle lowlife like this: "Google" Cease and Desist Letters, and you will find plenty of good ones that cite the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act *FDCPA."  Send this letter to them demanding that telephonic contact in an attempt to collect "junk debt" cease immediately. Include a line that says: "You are hereby required to STOP calling "310-555-1212"

Now for fun, you may want to add separate lines that say:

"It is IMPERATIVE that you cease all telephone contact with my household TODAY."

"You MUST cease all telephone contact with my household TODAY."

cc: both your attorney and the Attorney General of the State of Kansas at the bottom of the letter. After the Attorney General's name add - by electronic transmission, since it is likely that the AG website has a link that will allow you to lodge a formal complaint against this Mickey Mouse outfit.

The collection agency can only send one more contact by mail, to advise as to planned litigation, which we all know will never happen. Statutes of Limitation on the majority of debt that is "resold" is 4 years in most states, less in some, six years tops. The longer the time, the less the likelihood of prevailing.  

THEY know this, and now YOU know this.  For the price of a stamp, you can get rid of this nuisance!

BTW - At the bottom left of the envelope, write: Payment In Full Enclosed.  That will get them to open the envelope fast!!

Sounds like this is "Bad Cop" week.

Been getting these from many different toll free numbers since I got this phone. I can only assume they are calling for one of the former users of the phone number -- it is a prepaid plan so turnover is high.

Not gonna call back.

I receive calls daily from this number.  The call is always automated. Most recently the caller is identifying himself as Jason Davis, although he has had dozens of other names in the dozens of other calls he has placed to my number. After researching this number, I see that lots of others are also being harrassed in the same manner. Hope someone can get these morons to stop.
