These people are Debt Collectors, specifically Asset Recovery Solutions LLC 2200 E. Devon Ave Ste 200 Des Plaines, IL. Don't know how they got my phone number; but, it wasn't my debt.  They initially did not believe me and I challenged them to do a telephone look-up of my telephone number. I warned them that I viewed their telephone calls as harrassment and advised them that I was on the DNC directory. After a second telephone call they have apparently stopped calling.

They called my office about a card from 10 years ago-Never had this card.  They are
Debt collectors, researched the number and it is on a list of suspicious 800 numbers.

The call my house daily.  Their caller ID is spoofed.  It reads "Wireless Caller" (315) 505-1255 They are called Asset Recovery Soulutions LLC.  What they are doing is illegal.

Truth in Caller ID Act 2010

   In April 2010, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill titled the "Truth in Caller ID Act of 2010," amending the Communications Bill of 1934 to band all Caller ID spoofing in the United States. The bill would make it illegal to "... transmit misleading or inaccurate caller ID information, with the intent to defraud or deceive." The Senate unanimously passed a similar bill in February 2010 simply called the "Truth In Caller ID Act of 2009." That bill would apply to both landlines and voice-over-IP (VoIP) networks, and any "real time voice communications service, regardless of the technology or network utilized."

This company continues to call my parents home number.  Leaving messages every other day.  I have not lived home in 25 years and have not used that number in just as long of a period of time.  The number left on the ans machine was 877-518-8333.  I have no outstanding debts but also do not want to waste my time calling them.  What should I direct my parents to do.  Any ideas, please e-mail them to [removed] .  Thank You!

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:

* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.   ["Written" means snailmailed ... not emailed or texted]

So, if that caller wants you to pay NOW, before you get the written validation notice, or if the caller wants payment via green dot, Western Union, or similar untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.

Most all the GOVERNORS of Illinois have been, are in, or deserved to be in prison, so we must be watchful of businesses that operate from there also!

These people are bottom feeders. Trying to collect on debts people never even had. They're switching phone numbers and going way past the statute of limitations on trying to collect amounts that are exhorbant for accounts people never even had.  Direct Merchants Bank is no longer in existence you fools!

More than likely they're the ones that pulled a bomb on those buildings in Nevada.

This idiots are calling me about a credit card I never had. The bank went out of business in 2008. I would have been 12 years old. No bank issued an unsecured credit card for $4762 to a 12 year old. They are scammers of the WORST kind.
