yes I got a call from this number and a recording said I was on hold and to wait for first available agent....like hell...I hung up......still have no idea who it is.

tried to get me to do something on my computer...said it was corrupt.....wouldnt take no for an answer.....apparently in florida....said his name was jon williams and had a thick indian accent.

Got a call two nights in a row from this number- very obnoxious. They say I have malicious software in my computer and if I am in front of my computer. Love to get them to stop as they call late and are obviously trying to either phish information or get me to install malware on my computer. Illegal on multiple fronts. Caller ID comes up ad 91797- they gave this 877 # when I said I would call back.

This is a scam they are trying to hack your computer just called Microsoft they said do not do anything they say! the company name they use is one from Quebec Canada that is meant for staffing people.

Told them I was a network administrator and that if my pc had a problem I would know. Also told them my computer screen was malfunctioning as it would not toast the slices of bread I put on the screen. The guys seemed puzzled obviously not smart enough to realize I was joking he , then gave me the 877 number to call back.

i received a call last evening.  the name/number was unknown.  the caller was a woman with an east indian accent.  she asked if i owned a computer.  i said who wants to know.  she said my computer was going to crash and that they've been receiving error messages from my computer for a number of days.  i said, who is they?  i said who are you and what company is this, it's not on my display.  she said that's cause you're phone isn't working.  she said she was calling from what sounded like "techno genie".  she then gave the 877 523-2355 number.  i did not call this number back.  the woman was persistent and rude, insisting my computer was going to crash.  i ended the conversation.  i have since had a chance to google this name and have discovered there is an overseas scam and these people are trying to obtain personal information.

I just received a call from a man with an Indian accent I think (said they were calling from Miami), telling me they were recieving error msgs from my computer and I should go and turn on the computer and they will help me fix it.  I asked them for their phone number they said it was Techno Genie as well.  They must be getting into some peoples computers cause this guy was pushy and firm.

claimed to be "megabye solutions"...very polite... after I asked for call back number they hung up

I am from PEI Canada.  I also received a call from this number 1 877 523 2355.  Same story as the rest of you.  Guy named Andre with a thick Indian accent.  When I questioned the name of the company he said "Ecovision".  He said my computer had been downloading dangerous viruses and said I needed to update the latest version version of Microsoft.  ( I own a mac).  Wanted me to go to my computer.  I asked for a callback number and he gave me the same one that came up on my caller ID.  Something smells fishy.  Does anyone know who to report these sort of things to?

Similar to others - had a call from Miami, a man with an Indian accent. Same story type in a run command. I was pissed off and stopped the process (thank heavens). Ecovision Tech was the company. Don't know what they wanted to sell me - but I wouldn't buy it.

Same call as everyone else.  Sophia with a heavy accent, took me as far as wanting my credit card # to purchase package to clean up the viruses on my computer for about $300 Canadian.  Told her I'd call her back.  I called my internet provider and they said it's a scam and as long as I didn't give mt cc#, I should be alright.  I didn't call back, but 2 different guys called me.  I told the first guy that it was a scam and hung up. The second call, I just hung up as soon as I heard the heavy accent.  Got a call the next day and the day after that; I just hung up.  Hopefully, they'll leave me alone.

Same info as everyone above.  Claimed his name was Robert Williams and tried to initiate a logmein session.  I wasted his time for about 30 minutes, but I was laughing to hard to continue. Also reported it to the local police fraud squad.

ECOVISION TECH call - phone SCAM

They try to trick you into thinking something is wrong with your computer.  Hang up on them immed.

It is all a scam -  can't even block their calls (they call at dinner time) - call display said International Call 91797.

Same call as above, they said I had sent an error report(coincidently, I had) and that they respond to all error reports for ALL operating systems. I stated that they had no way of getting my contact info and that this was a scam. He stated that they got it from my pc when I sent an error report.
He requested that I turn on my pc and follow his instructions to verify my "CLSID-the Computer License Security ID" which would identifiy my pc.
IT DOESN'T VERIFY YOUR PC & CLSID - STANDS FOR CLASS ID.
I refused & asked for his name & what company he was with: Echoteck(even spelled it for me lol)
He repeated his request for me to turn on my pc and follow his instructions. I demanded that he give me any and all info that he had for my pc and his phone # and I would check it and call him back. He gave me his Phone #, and then repeated several times that I need his help to verify the CLSID.
I asked if his company represented Microsoft, he said all OS. I repeated the question. He got flustered and hung up.
I called the # to verify it as real phone number(call display shows Unknown) so I could report it and I was told they are responding to a malicious file request. I asked to speak with someone Canadian or American(this is provided by all large corporations, if the accent is a problem) and he said he is in Miami, I laughed and said "yeh, right" and hung up.
You can hear the many Indian voices on calls in the background. An obvious scam from the get go.
What really made me irate was hearing the many other voices in the room, a scamming call center. REALLY. That's too much. If anyone has other agency #'s to report these guys use them.
I reported this scam to Microsoft(told them they are claiming to respond to the "SEND ERROR REPORT" button) & Telus. I am really irritated by the constant barrage of credit card deals, free cruises and now this. FYI: To block all unknown or private #'s would block many calls that you may want. Telus has two other solutions: subscribe for $1.95/mo to Call Screen: as soon as an unknown or private call has ended that you don't want calling again do the following to block it forever; *60#01#  or subscribe to Anonymous Caller Id for $2.00/mo, if someone is calling from an unknown or private # a message comes on stating "this person does not accept calls from blocked or private #'s, please identify yourself to connect the call" This will allow your friends, family and legitimate calls to identify themselves and get through without the barrage of scams.
Help stop these annoyances and report it to your service provider and any other Company/Gov't etc that may be relevant. By them stating all OS and the SEND ERROR BUTTON, they were implying that they were calling on behalf of Microsoft. This doesn't sit well with Microsoft. The more complaints that are made, the more big guy support(microsoft etc) we can garnish, the sooner they are stopped.

The caller was from Echovision or te4ch., named Sam Watson, very persistant told me my computor was at risk and that hey had had an alert...needing to protect my sofwear and or entire system. I fell for it until money came into the deal he had me click my windos button and r to then type in the following:

Apparently after speaking with Staples and Shaw it is a scam however no evidence on my computor to damage.

Run your anti-virus and anti-spyware programs.  The update them and run them again.  

The caller may have downloaded spyware or software that distributes spam.

I got a similar call.  Claiming to be ecotech.  He said because my warranty had expired my computer would start downloading other versions of my operating system.  I said there is no connection between my warranty and my operating system.  He could not tell me when my warranty had expired.  (Actually, my computer is still under warranty).  He said he knew it was definitely my computer because it was either XP or Vista or Windows 7.  I said, well, that clearly narrows it down doesn't it?  Must be me.....
It was obviously a suspicious call because of the terrible call quality.  I could hear an loud echo, he was likely tape recording me somehow.  Anyhow for anybody who is interested the call display shows his number as 1-253-802-0308.

Picha again.  Actually, I did get 11 viruses on my computer today.  Maybe there is a connection.

Also just received a call from Rick Johnson at Ecovision.  Had a thick Indian accent and was quite rude.  Kept telling me that I could trust him as he was going to help me fix my computer.  Kept telling me he was technical support.  I asked for a number I could reach him back at and was insistant he did not need to give me a number because he called me.  He knew my name, address, and phone number.  Asked to speak to his supervisor.  Supervisor said close to the same thing.  Gave me the number 7096-397-295 (how it was worded to me) and said I could call him anytime as it was his personal number.  Googled it and it is a cell phone.  Told the guy I was googling the company.  Told him I am seeing people say it is a scam.  He tried to tell me that it will also say that on the Microsoft site.  Too funny.

Everyone needs to just mess with these guys and waste their time.  I had one curse and swear at me tonight after I led him on for a bit.  Its clearly a scam...Robert Johnson with a thick indian accent, yeah right.
I feel bad for the idiot who actually buys into it.
