This call was made to my niece's cell phone on more than one occasion - no idea how they got that number. It is from a company called CCA, likely in association with AT&T because of a $60 charge I've disputed with them and refused to pay. What I don't understand is how they got my niece's cell phone number, and then only after she was married and her last name changed. She says she has never used my name as a reference or anything like that so this is a total mystery.

Called for the fifth time in three days. A message was left for
someone with my same last name. When I tried to call back to tell
them they have the wrong number, the phone just rang and rang.
What a lousy organization; why do they leave messages if they
are not going to answer the phone? How do I get these calls
to quit filling up my answering machine?

Asks for Ebony Underwood I dont know or have ever heard of her. I have had these messages for better than 3 years now!! I even called a couple times and explained I dont know this lady!!! They were to take me off what ever list my numer is on with her name. Now I am getting these calls again for the same girl. code #9929644. My number is also on the do not call list!!! Can someone help!!! Isnt this Harrassment!

Computer recorded message with no options to let them know that they have the wrong person/number.  Extremely difficult to get a hold of and get removed from their call list

Have received three messages in past two months.  I do not answer toll free calls.  They asked for a person who does not live here, is a sister-in-law and lives 300 miles away in another state.  I do not know how they would connect the two of use, but we have the same last name.  The last time they said it was related to a debt collection.  Accout #10384920

They call with a computer generated message and tell you to call back or if you are not the party not to listen.  However, they continue to call.  They identify themselves on you caller id with either a number and unknown or private

If you do not recognize a number, do not answer your phone. If nobody ever answers these calls, they will stop. Do not call them back or become upset. These calls are a ploy by the cell phone providers, propogated by the sale of our phone numbers to anybody willing to pay for them, to increase usage, and therefore increase charges and provide them justification for more bandwidth allocation. If nobody ever answers these calls, then the calls will not generate the desired effect. The calls will then become an expensive liability to the callers, and they will be forced to stop.

If somebody calls you from a number you do not recognize, and it is important, they will leave an important message. Then, you can call them back.

Blackie,  WTF did you get this information from??  Maybe you should check you facts.  This is a collection agency and not some conspiracy theory ploy to run up your cell phone bill.  Give me a break!!!

got a call from 877 528 3499 and it was a collection call for sundra franklin. no one by that name lives here. please stop calling.

They have been calling here for months now. We dont answer toll free calls. Last night was the first time they left a recorded message. It said it was about an unpaid debt owed by my husband. We have no such debt. They can just keep calling and we will continue not answering.

I just got a call from these folks. I haven't bothered to answer but can suggest how some folks get on their list. Old use phone numbers.  We have an "unlisted" phone number. But our rural phone company doesn't keep a batch of dedicated numbers. The last folks to have this phone number were named Sanchez. They apparently don't pay their bills.  The heck of it is that their name comes up on caller ID when we call out.
It's a PITA.

When I answer it is an automated voice recording looking for a name I cannot understand. They have started to call me every couple days. Now I know not to answer. Thanks : )

Started getting calls from this number a few months ago, it seems that an ex-boyfriend used me as a contact for his SBC/AT&T phone.. and now he is in collections for about $500. I have told this company repeatedly that I no longer see/talk/associate with this person, and actually gave them his last known address since he obviously doesn't have a phone. They state that they have taken my multiple numbers (including my private office number) off their database, and to date, they still call. And it isn't even my bill! Gah.

I've gotten a call from this number about 3 times now. They ask for a person that I have never heard of. I hang up after they say "If you stay on the line you acknowledge you are *person's name*".
I wonder if I should stay on the line but then I read these messages and it doesn't seem like it'll do anything.

Automated lady's voice with an English accent called and left message on my work number thinking it was Ella Brook's number and there's no such person that works for AT&T in the St.Louis Area, just delete and forget.

Caller left a message to the effect that personal business requiring immediate personal attention was required. Repeated the phone # 3 times, but never identified the company / caller / who they were trying to speak to.

We have previously recieved calls directed a "Betty Angelou" (sp?), and I have time and time again stated to the caller that there was no one at my address by that name, and to please update records. We have had the phone number for 3 years now.

These folks left a message on our business line...I called them back (they answered honestly with the company name CCA) with the ref number and spoke to a very polite young man. He apologized for the error and said that they would take the number off of their list. He said that they must manually remove the phone numbers after they have been entered. I have had calls for this same B. Keller in the past from different collectors who have been much more rude. I hope my request stops the calls because they are plugging up my machine and my business duties!
