This number is for ERG.  They are a collections agency.  If you have had a payday loan or any type of loan and defaulted on it, they have the right to call and they can and will give you offers to be able to pay down or pay off the loan.  The lady I talked to was really nice.  Yes, I will admit, I defaulted on a loan, but they worked with me and were able to clear it for less than the settlement offer.  If you talk to anyone, talk to Jenna.  She's really helpful.

This man Jim called saying he was from the county courthouse and he had papers to serve me.  I asked what county courthouse and he would not give me an answer.  He said he wanted me to contact this number and reference this case number.  I asked him again where he was from and he said are you going to take down this number?  I said "no".  He said he did not want to come out and serve me at my employer or home.  I instructed him since he could not identify himself not to call me at work.  This guy was threatening me at my place of employment.  Never identify himself and just about a 5 minutes later a woman by the name of Kelly Sanders called and explained her colleague talked to me and their was a problem.  She also told me that she was from the York County Courthouse, Legal Services Dept.  She said I needed to call Empire Recovery Group at 877-528-5852.  She told my clerk that I was an ASS.

someone who caught on to the crooks, replies to WickidButterfly
Oh man, hasn't anyone else caught on to this employee of ERG?  Lets face it, yes there are people out there who have taken out loans and just sluffed off paying them.  You will eventually get caught, so in other words, pay your bills.  At the least, call your debtor and negotiate with them.  Any legitimate debt collector will work with there clients to get there money.  A litttle sugar goes a long way!!!  Now, this place and Mr. Frank Michael!  Wow, talk about a lawsuit walking!  You call a phone number, you tell the  person on the other line your calling from the Los Angeles Superior Court office amd you want information about someone that your going to serve papers to in 24hrs!  Give me a breat, first people, get a little bit of education.  If your going to be served you certainly are not going to get a phone call to warn you, second, if you have an address, send the person with whom you are trying to get in contact with a certified letter to there home, that way you know they got it.  Third, make sure you are talking to the right person, you are giving information to a total stranger and that is against the law!  Bottom feeders comes to mind!  Listen people, do not give anyone any money until you first, validate the debt, "only after you get something in the mail".  Legal companies must notify you by mail, not over the phone. And if they threaten you, hang up, there not allowed to do that.  Mr. Frank Michaels, be very careful who your calling, you just might get an attorney that is sue happy and just might have to come after you with an enormous amount of resources.

They do not have the right to harass your workplace after being told coworkers are not allowed to accept personal calls, repeatadly! They also do not have the right of misrespresentation. They, ERG, keep calling my work saying they are from the county court office. The receptionist who happens to have the same first name as me is constantly, rudely harrassed by them. They mind you had almost 2years to contact me by phone, did not, by email, did not after the one phone call made to me that i returned where i requested they send the loan agreement to my email. Never received it. Oh they were nice until I asked for proof they were the original lender. My original is no where to be found, I have searched.

If this place will not leave you alone all you have to do and send them a Cease and Desist letter that you could find online and it tells them that they can not contact you at all and if they do they could get fined if you bring them to court. They will Stop..Believe me they tried telling me that they worked for the District Court and I called the Court to find out if i was on the Docket and they stated I wasn't. Well they can't have Court sealed documents if there is nothing on Docket. Try it out

They are a collection agency.  Do your homework.  Payday loans are civil, not criminal.  You do NOT have to pay them and it is illegal VERY ILLEGAL to harass and threaten you.  If you did infact take a payday loan and ERG is contacting you ask for validation of the debt or better yet....call the payday loan company directly that you received the funds from!

I received a call from these jerks who were looking for a family member because they had some legal documents that needed to be served.  I told them that I did know this person, but was confused as to how they got my number because the family member did not have my number, as we are not close like that..  I then asked them to remove my name from the account.  The lady proceeded to tell me that since I was named as a reference, they could also serve me with the legal documents as well.  When I told her that I knew that this was not true, she told me to I was ridiculous, and hung up on me.  Well, not to be outdone, I called back and spoke with someone different.  This lady started out nice, when I asked her to remove my number from this person's account, she said that she would, then asked me for my phone number.  I would not give it to her again, because she had already told me that she was looking at my number.  Anyway, the niceness left.  She, too told me that since they have not heard from the person regarding a fraudulent check, they would just serve me since I was a responsible party.  Once you start to tell these people that you know that they cannot do what they are saying, they become belligerent, and start the threats.  They are a scam.........................

This company is an absoulte joke ! I received a call from them this morning around 10:00 , KELLY SANDERS was stupid enough to leave me a message on my voicemail to return their call with a " case number" and to avoid an " embarassing sitution" at my workplace that would entail me being served with "legal documents" that my response was imperative. She ended the message with " GOOD LUCK".
I called back as for KELLY SANDERS by name was told to hold then I was transferred , the woman who answered the phone didnt identify herself and question why I was asking her name. I told her I was returning KELLY SANDERS call when she informed me her name was LINDA JONES and she would be assisting me. I informed her that i received the message and asked for their physical adress and the full name of the company, she became so enraged that she asked me if I wanted proof of the debt emailed to me . It was at that point i asked her to mail it to me so that there was a paper trail , i pushed her even further by asking if I should wait outside of work to be served or if they would prefer if I met them at the courthouse where my supposed " docket " was assigned. After some back and forth banter and realizing that i spent a good ten minutes of my time schooling LINDA JONES , i hung up and went back to work .oh i should also mention that during this conversation she mentioned that KELLY SANDERS was out in the field serving papers and would be at my place of employment at the drop off a hat. I received a call back from a woman identifying herself as CARRIE the manager at Empire Recovery who asked that I call back at her extension 303 as she overheard her associatee and I becoming very loud and vulgar and that if i needed further clarification regarding the situation to please call her back. I have to say for debt collectors they are not only terrible but have no confidence in their tone of voice when trying to assume authority or take control of situations . They may want to take lessons from some seasoned debt collectors to further get their point across .

I don't understand how this company if legit would expect anyone to give them their banking information over the phone when ERG can't even tell you what the debt is for!!!! I will contact the police if they continue to call because this is a huge scam. They are nice until you question them then They threaten you and say they are going to serve you papers. I asked if I were to get served papers would it tell me on those what the hell they are trying to collect on. Don't!!! I repeat Dont give this company any of your information do not even verify information!

I have been receiving calls from ERG about a past payday loan?  I was first contacted by a Gregory Jones, and then have had many phone calls from a colin someone at my work regarding a case number and whatever else.

I called today to get a physical address of where there office is and Mr. Jones could not produce.  Suddenly his supervisor grabbed the phone out of his hands and said what is the problem?  I said I needed the physical address and also a letter sent to me through the US mail.  I guess it was too hard of a request as she hung up on me and said ,
    See you in court?"

Shortly after the hostile phone call on ERG's part, I received 3 more calls at my work.  I am now reporting them.

I received what appeared to be a call from a local phone number.  However the message was from a Shawn at ERG.  He stated that he needed to take my statement in regards to multiple civil complaints against me.  Failure on my part to return the call would result in a guilty ruling.

I have not been contacted by mail about any type of civil complaint.  Never heard of ERG ever.

I have been contacted by these people also and have been told they are taking me to court unless I make a settlement with a loan they supposedly bought from Am Web  Payday Loan online. The address they gave me was PO Box 74, Bowmansville, NY 14206. Phone: 877-577-4902. I'm looking into the matter.
