We keep getting calls from 877-552-1820 from the same voice (a lady) saying she is from GMAC.   They leave a message to call them.  I called the 1st time & they wanted my account number.   We do not have any business dealings with GMAC & I told the lady this.   She then asked for my social security number which I do not give over the phone.   She asked for our name & address which I gave since at first I thought it was a mistaken identity since our names are common.   The person seemed very unprofessional & had an asian accent & had me repeat the spelling of our names several times.  She then asked if we were co-signers which we are not.  I called GMAC who said they would always leave a name & extension number to have a person call them back.   I suspect this is a bogus number & they are trying to get senior citizens social security numbers.

I have been getting calls from this number for about two weeks. They are always early in the morning, either when I am sleeping or already at work. I have answered two times and told the operator both times that I am not the person they are calling for. Two other times, I have spoken with "supervisors". Neither of which are forthcoming with any kind of information about the company and simply tell me I won't be called again. I am, however, still receiving calls. I have already filed complaints with both the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission.

They have called me repeatedly, initially from unavailable numbers, then from 1-877-552-1820.  A female, I think asian voice, leaves a cut-off message (unprofessional) about office hours... no mention of company or contact info.

I called them back today out of curiousity. The man that answered the phone had a slight accent and explained that the call could be monitored for quality control.  I asked why they were calling me.  He then spewed some supposed company information really fast and asked for my social security number.  This sounds like blatant fraud to me.

Same here. A very fast message with no other information except phone number and hors to call. Asian accent on the lady calling. Sounds like a hoax to me.

hi i work for GMAC Collections Dept as a process associates. this number isnt a fraud were actually located in ASIA so that explains the asian accent. and im locate din the philippines. we actually needed your social ID cos we need to pull up your account.. sooo yeah! were not a fraud the thign is,, if cust cant give out their GMAC Account# then we ask for the social id, cos the social id's registered along with the GMAC Account.

It is GMAC's collections department. I'm not sure if its across all GMAC dpartments, or just the Automobile. It is a legit number and if you speak with them, they are helpful is solving whatever issues you may be having.

They have called me repeatedly in the past week.  Cut off message so all i get is the office hours, no phone number other than what shows when the call comes in.  I haven't called it back.  Already been in contact with GMAC with a different number.  How do we get them to quit calling? Tired of them calling 3 to 4 times a day..

I have not purchased any type of transportation from any where So I have no ideal why they are calling me and I wish they would chill . They have the wrong person this company needs to double check there contacts before they start bothering people .

That is harrassment and I plan to file a complaint with the BBB because that is rediculous and your trying to defend the company that you work for shame on you .What you need to do is apologize to everyone who is being harrassed and bothered unnessaryily by your money hungary company  your company dont care that they have the wrong people they just want the money no matter where it comes from yall are blood sucker and you make my ass want a dip of snuff . I hope that the government regulates this type of trickery in the near future .

yo so like i got a call three times today i flipped out on the poor lady but they say different things every time they even wanted my ssn like im that retarted! it wont end even when they tell me it will. i hate these jerks i am not this person. how is this harassment legal? can i call the police what can i do i cant change my num again.

person calling from another country can"t even speak english talking about i am 3months behind.on what?gmac need too get them some people in usa to talk.

Any bill collector or telemarketer that calls me gets an extremely loud blast from an AIR HORN in their ear. I have an old Western Electric phone with the old type microphone on it that puts off an amazing amount of volume.
Enjoy the deafness and ringing ear you worthless scum.

Needless to say telemeters and bill collectors never call more than once, and those are now very few and far between.

They started calling for a "Sean" yesterday, which I have received collection calls from before (he apparently previously rented from the same unit I did, so occassionaly I get calls for him).

I picked up yesterday when they called the 5th time and told them no one by the name of Sean is at this number. The girl never introduced herself, identified the company she was with. She apologized and hung up. Guess who called at 8 AM this morning? Yup. They just hung up when they heard my voice.

By law this is harrassment as Collection Agencies aren't suppose to continue calling you if you tell them you don't know the person.

how about learn how to compose a simple english sentence first? it doesnt mean that your from usa you can write and talk english correctly right? so better think twice before you write something like this your not perfect so they are...
