automated call; press #1 to speak w/ someone.  guy who answered said he was from JDH & Associates in New Jersey, but their attorneys are in Scottsdale, AZ.  They are a debt elimination/reduction firm.  He said I must have called them first.  He said he'd remove my name from his call list.  When I asked him if he even knew who I was, he hung up.

My sister was in the same boat.  $1400.00 so far.  What did you do to
recap the funds?  Is this place a scam?  Please let me know as I am terrified about this situation.    Thanks.

I believe it.  This company promised to help us and they have made things way worse than they originally were.  Am trying to get out of their program but they refuse to return 5K of the 7K we have paid them over the past year.......

I've been sending money to Jay Hass Associates for 18 months @$450 per.  I've been sued in Court on two of the cards and probably will settle for more than I originally owed them when I signed power of attorney with JHA.  I've paid probablly $6500 or so (I haven't been able to come up with the 450 every month), they've paid out two thousand, and there is only about 1200 left in the escrow account that was set up.  They are not giving me satisfactory ansere when I ask where the rest of my funds are.  According to their sales pitch, they aren't supposed to take any fees until they settle an account, and then only 15% of the original debt.  I am going to have a lawyer look at my agreement with them.  I would suggest that anyone interested in doing business with this gang should read eveything very carefully and have someone knowledgeable in these kinds of things check it out before signing anything or sending them any money.  I got into this because I lost my job and had to take another that paid much less.  I wasn't trying to get over on my credit card companies; I thought it would work out best for both of us.  It looks like it may only work out for Jay Hass, et al.

I used to work for this company. JDH & Associates is a reputable company.Unfortunately you can not make everyone happy. I worked for them for over 2 years. In that time I was in there customer service dept and tried our best to do a good job and keep all clients happy. I have done a lot of research on other companies and yes they do business, let's say unethically but JDH is one of those companies that you can trust. I am not working there anymore beacause I had my first child but would work for them at anytime again.

This scares me! My husband disappeared on my 9 months ago with mortgage, bills, everything in my name...financially destroyed! i have 2 children from a previous marriage to support. The customer service reps now tell me that after 8 months of this, they won't be settling til 2010 to get my debt settlement @ 40% which is what they promised. The calls come more and more frequently from collection agencies now. I took the money out of my 401k which I'm paying back out of my paycheck. They have 6000 plus the 380 they're withdrawing from my bank account monthly. I have 4 cards I'm dealing with. I'm scared half to death!

Be very careful and Im mean careful with these people, they will tell you anything to get money from you, put it into a escrow you recieve no interest but they do and have the cacungas to charge you for the money you are sending. They say if you send money up front that this will for for the negotiations but immediatly take there 15% fee out and then charge you a high amount per month up to two years. I have been in the program for 7 months and answered my phone one night and it was the creditor saying they haven't yet heard from JDH in 6 months and now I am 8 months late on my credit report.
They are there for the money you are second on the list, I have heard FTC are investigating them both in Arizona and Florida. Might make a great class action suit for unethics and dishonesty. Look into it carefully

Then why do ,they ntakem the negotiation money and take out first the n15% and let calls go for more than 6 months before they contact the ncreditor. This coulod have been ndone by me and at probably a better rate as they promise alot but do not preform while you late charges from the credit company go's on and theyn keep sayinh even after sending a monthly check to send more money in. I have been nat only a differance in na settlement of 500.00 for m5 months but they arean't working to hard. I feel it is a cash cow for them and not one that benifits the customer in nanyway

JDH&ASSOCIATES IN ARIZONA are crooks, they want you monthly money along with ant other money you can send in and then wait at least 6 months before they start negotiations, I was called by my Bank and they would asetlle for less that JDH associates were going for a higher amount that the bank was going to settle for. I called and told them and they didn't call the Bank and therefore the amount the bank offered was 10% higher than the previous offer. I have already paid $10,000 and they won't either send my money back or work anything out with me, that is larceny. If you have a sales person call them, they can put pressure on the Arizona Branch and hopefullu nit will help all. I mam contacting the Arizona Attorney General hopefully for some relief or get them shut down, they are as mentioned crooks, the only good thing is there associates in sales are very helpful

Dunno how recent this changed, but 877-553-3328 number now goes to National Referral Service in Trinton Falls, NJ, aka Stratton & Feinstein of Miami, FL.  It the same scam, though.  Get out of debt by defaulting on all your cards and ruining your credit.

I received a call from them and have been paying for 12 months.  What they explained makes since. They negotiate after you have built up your escrow account to the point where you have enough money to pay the negotiation of an account.  They have to be able to pay it, once they negotiate it.  They can't pay it if you do not have it in your escrow account.  So, they don't negotiate until you have a certain amount in your escrow account.  The problem that I see is you stopped paying on your credit card.  You should have continued to pay 5 or 10 dollars on each account each month.  This would have prevented the account from going into collection and prevented ruining your credit.  As long as you are paying something each month, they won't hassle you.  They may call you and try to pay the minimum payment, or something more on your account, but if you just stick to your guns and say you can't pay more and they will not hassle you.  They may call you periodically and ask you pay more, but no constant harassment.  You can afford 5$ a month per account to keep from ruining your credit.  Another thing that will help to keep your credit score high is limit the number of times your credit gets checked.  Every time you apply for a credit card or a loan, your credit gets checked.  Every time your credit is checked, an entry is made on your credit.  Every credit check for a card or loan, affects your credit score negatively.

Even after you put a stop on the withdraws?? How stupid are you? I would question your bank if you chose to stop payment on something and they allowed the withdraw to occur... maybe you want to accuse your bank of fraudulent activity. Grand larceny? Really?! The people who should be charged with outrages claims or charges are idiots like you who are looking for a quick fix to a problem you created for yourself, get into something that you OBVIOUSLY don't understand, and then blame other people. Take responsibility for your mistakes, read options to what you get into... if not your credit card application (so you know the crazy fees in the beginning)  at least the applications you sign and provide your banking information to (like your damn settlement contract)!!
