- Unbelievable| 1 replyThese people supposedly work for Local Business Services. They offer to update your business listing with their online site, which maximizes internet searches for your website. When you agree to update your listing they will then tell you that w/in 24-48 hrs they will be sending you an email that offers you a 5-page free website. EVEN IF YOU SAY YOU DON'T WANT IT they will still ARGUE with you that it's free and "you are crazy not to take it". If you passify them and say fine (knowing you will delete their offer) they still get you. I got this call (after 20-25 previous calls from them and me telling them "stop calling here") and finally decided to just update the damn listing. Of course they have to have a manager verify everything at which point they try to sell you something AGAIN, even though they are saying that they are not. I hung up. They CALLED ME BACK!!!!! At which point I was so pissed I told them I wanted to talk to a manager, and the damn guy told me to WAIT until I heard what he had to say, and which point he ran through his script as fast as possible. I informed him I heard what he had to say and I wanted a manager. The manager picked up and I began to tell them that they were harassing my establishment, and that they are rude and they will NOT respect my wishes to no longer be contacted.... and it was well into my rant when I realized the f*ing guy hung up on me.
We are absolutely reporting this company to the BBB. Not to mention how hard it is to understand them. Unbelievable.- Caller: Local Business Services

- KGSame as above on 5/31/11 and 6/1/11. Called multiple times wanting me to verify information and answer yes to a 4 question recording. Called ATT and they knew nothing and said they could not help. Will just keep an eye on the bill for a $49.95 charge this bunch may try to post to our bill.

- GSI got a call, he said he was contracted with AT&T so demanded to know their web address, that I don't give out info to whomever calls. When I looked it up, I could not see anything about AT&T, he said only associates have that info, then I looked at the terms of service...30day free then monthly charge. He explained that yes there is a charge...I said NO, take me off your list and don't call back! SCAM!!!

#3. I think that this is a harrassement call and should be stopped, but they keep calling even after you say no and hang up on then.
#4. The beginning of the conversation says nothing about a charge till you ask.
#5. The charge supposedly begins in 30 days after a trial.....I don't thin so.

TALKED TO AT&T AND THIS IS NOT THEM. PHONE NUMBER THEY GAVE TO CALL THEM BACK 877-572-2902 EXT: 5242 - AT & T CALLED THIS NUMBER AND SAID VERTTUAL RECEPTIONIST NOT ABLE TO ANSWER THIS CALL - SAID TO KEEP EYE ON BILL TO MAKE SURE NOT CHARGED IN JULY - MAY NOT BE ABLE TO REVERSE CHARGES.- Caller: NOT AT & T

- KerryRelentless harrassment " we must get this information in Kerry" this is for the phone book registry. , "we must have this as there is a rush for deadline for the phonebook to assure accuracy." I did not want to give anymore information than what they had but the mountain of calls was more that I could believebe. Creeps would keep calling over and over. I am not sure of what parts of my conversation they have recorded but they recorded the conversations each time so be careful as what you say during the time on line with these poeple, they had foriegn accents by the way.....

- Julie A| 2 repliesI was at our local museum working for our curator last Saturday and I received this call. They were extremely hard to understand and I asked them repeatedly to slow down so I could hear what they were saying better. I went through all of it and then they had another person (equally hard to understand) verify the information. I repeatedly told them we were not going to pay anything. I have a confirmation number #11837260 and they gave me this number to call them back. They also said they were going to send me an email at my email account. I would like to know if I can report this to someone. What do they derive from this in a financial way. I have alerted the person who is our treasurer and she will be on the lookout for something funny on any of our bills. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. They said they were the yellow pages for A T & T.

I've found the best way to handle this is as soon as you hear it is a call center [tell-tale delay in caller response to your pickup, background call center noise, and non-English a first language accent] is to confirm which company the caller is calling from and the spelling, and ask for the number of the company. I've found I get that info right off the bat if asked immediately. Then, when they say that they just need to confirm MY company name and details, I ask politely to have them take our name and number off of their list. If they refuse (and this guy surely did today, and very rudely I might add) then I say that I can file a complaint with the FCC if they don't comply with my request. I always google the perpetrator's phone number and/or company name immediately so I can tell them they are a scam right then and there if they are beligerent about it. Then I print the scam info I found on google, record the caller's call time/date and name if I got it, and file it away in case I get yet another call. - Judy SnyderReceived a call from this number asking several times if this was a free listing & being reassured that it was. I told them that our business was not interested in paying for an ad. Verified all the information with the person & even talked to another person who I also told that we were not interested in an ad we would be paying for and was again reassured that it was a free ad & that I was to answer questions 4 & 5 with the words "free user." After listening to the recorded verification, which did not include questions 4 & 5, I was told that the ad would cost $49.99 per month & the recording rapidly rattled off this phone number which I called to cancel the entire communication saying that it was false advertising. The woman, Mallory #209 said she would put our number on the do not call list. We'll see how much garbage calls, faxes, emails, etc. we receive from this false advertiser.

- W BriggsCalled today saying they needed to bother me to "update the company's address." I said I'd be glad to do that for them, but I didn't have time for a cold sales call. They assured me all they needed to do was update the company's address. Then asking a lot more information. Then began trying to sell me an advertisement for $49.00/month. That set me off; I don't do business with liars.
Spoke to a supervisor, and the supervisor's supervisor, and each of those guys tried to calm me down and then sell me the same product. I hung up, then called the number back. - Cortney LeeI want these people to be held accountable for scamming businesses!!!!!!!!! I told the "Ben" that was I was extremely busy and to give me his number and I would return his call. He paused and completely ignored what I said and continued to say he was transfering me for verification. I hung up and he called back within 30 seconds. I finally agreed to do the verification and when the manager "Martin" got on the line and I asked him for a number to return the call and he said it would take a minute and I would avoid them calling me back. Once that machine recording started I hung up again. I'm incredible angry over this and want it to stop!!

- David replies to TOM SPRINGSTONYou must refrain of using all caps..ok? I am living also in the US and I cannot perfectly speak english also because that is not my nationality. Anyway, Every one must know the word "respect" even they are dealing with other races especially on the phone and i didn't see that to most of the americans. I thought English is their main languange but why can't they understand even a simple english from other races. They just prove that they are racist , they always discriminate and they just want to speak with their fellow americans. Sad to say but that's true...
