    CONCERNED PERSON
I recieved one message last week with a different name. This week it was from someone name Joshua Walters advising that it was an important matter for me or someone in my household.  He further advised that "it is my intention to verify location information on this matter and undiluted series of conflicting facts that are currently present.  As you may or may not know I can't divulge proprietary information by reasons on voicemail, so it would be best if you call my office at 877-588-0804 by 5:30pm EST so we can walk through this together."  He did not advise the name of the company he works for or name advise the name of the person they needed to speak with or why.  I called the phone number and asked what company I was calling and the woman who answered the phone advised the company name is IMPERIAL.  When i asked what kind of company was I calling she became hostile and advised I already told you the name of the company.  When I asked again the type of company I was calling she hung up on me.  I will be reporting this phone number to the proper entities as I believe there is some type of scam going on.

Same as others' experiences.  Had a voice message from "Joshua Walters" 877-588-0804 with "the intent to verify location information..."  I never answer or return calls from toll free numbers.  Neither my husband, myself, or the two minor children living in our home have outstanding debts or collections.  If he is trying to contact our adult children who do not live with us (and may or may not have debts), he will have to do so through another route.  The line he called on is routed into our home and only serves as a business line.

these guys are getting ridiculous. they also use the number 877-519-6039. it's the same canned message everyone else is repeating... but at this point, i've gotten the "urgent message" from FOUR different guys at this place. they've called my home, my cell and my work. they told my MIL that they are the IRS and needed to speak with my husband. i answered once when i was at work and they asked for someone else, and i told them wrong number and it was a business. she hung up on me so fast when i said "business"... even if they ARE a debt collector, this is a shady way to run business...

i actually called them back about the matter they wanted to talk about. and they were the most rude people i've talked to. they called my aunt's business line and looked for me saying i listed her phone line as a primary contact. the matter was about my bank account and there would be no reason for me to even put my aunt's number as a primary contact. anyway, i'm thinking these people got my name and bank account from the trash and tried to search for my number online but instead got my aunt's number since it's a business line and would be available online. not only that but if anything the bank would be contacting me instead of them. then when i told them i wouldn't pay, they hung up on me! so i know it was a scam for sure. probably dumpster divers or something.

My husband and I have been receiving messages from these people repeatedly over the last month.  I tried once to answer when I saw the number calling, and it was still the recording.  I'm certain this is a scam, but I would like to know how they got around the do not call list that we are on.  How can we get them to stop calling?

This is a SCAM. I called them back and give them a hole bunch of fake information. They told me that my SS number and address match there computer. They went on trying to fish information on who I would owe money too. So I told them that I own a beach house in Florida. They told me if I want to avoid legal action I should settle my account by giving them 15k. At the end of our conversation I burst there bubble by telling them everything I gave them was fake.

I received a call from my father informing me that he had received a call from this phone number. The caller would not give their company name even though he requested it. My father was told that the call was in relation to a debt that I owe. This is the first red flag that this call was probably a scam attempt.  I have been a commercial debt collecter in the past and I can tell you that no reputable company, truly trying to collect a debt, has any reason to hide their company name. As a matter of fact the conversation that my father described violated sections 804(1) and 804(2) of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act governed by the Federal Trade Commission.

I too called the company back and got a recording for a while then when I spoke to someone I would only give them information that I knew they already had which was my name and my father's phone number. Instead of telling me about this supposed debt that I owed all they could do was ask for my personal information like social security number and former addresses. PEOPLE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. THIS IS INFORMATION THAT'S NEEDED TO ASSUME YOUR IDENTITY. Since I was a debt collector previously I know this is a scam attempt because if you owe a debt to a creditor they don't need your personal information from you - they should already have it from when you applied for credit orginally. When you apply for credit you have to give social security and address information. So, a legitimate debt collector should not need to ask you for your social security or prior addresses they sould already have that information in their file.

I encourage everyone to try to verify this company's name if they speak with a representative and to notify the FTC of whats going on. I have added FTC information below.
