A person by the name of Sarah called my son in NC saying she was from Civil Court Records Division and that file number 2013-32410 had been filed in McKinney, TX.  I do not know anything about this.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

•is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
•refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
•asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
•exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

•Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
•Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
•Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
•Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

I got a call today and it was from a Sarah and she said to me if I did not pay the money owed on a cash advance there will be charged brought against me for fraud and worthless check back in 2008, the only problem is that I never remember doing any of this. said her name was Sarah Micheals.

She then told me that I took this check in 2008 and put in my bank account and closed my account. then she would settle with me out of court for 680 dollars. I then asked her a few questions and seeked my attorneys advice, I attorney called her company and she called e no more as I got out of the office and said "you are trying to avoid these charges"

I am confused weather this is real or not, nothing on my credit report shows of this company or me having any dealings with this company, ever!!!!

I got a call from this number 877 588-7426 looking for a relative of mine and stated that they are civil process and will be serving legal paper to my relative tomorrow between 830am and 5pm  that does not live with me and state my number was given as a point of contact I know that not true because my number is a new number and my relative live three hours away, how are they able to get your number This relative does not even no my number so I know that was a scam

got call and case number and said i will be served torrow at my home and if true i will have a civil case where happened which has to be filled with da where I lived at time i calle dand nothing. however the seperate number someone saying I will be served is the same voice just different number 775-309-0125 it is a scam. saying internet payday loan from 2010 never did any and also that i gave my attorney name and number and wouldn;t take saying can't file any payday loans under chapter 13 i don't know what i am dealing with but little does he know that i do. more to the story but these people even hacked my bank account rrecently and had to change banks as stole over 1000.00 be careful.

same thing with me they took money out of my account close to 700dollars had to go to bank, by chance do you remember what the name posted on your account was ? mine was (recovery solutions Fl) I also have the bank looking into this as well as my bankruptcy attorney because I also filed bankruptcy and she said the same thing.

I received a call today from this number 775-309-0126.  Person by the name of Chris asked me stay home tomorrow because of legal documents will be delivered to us.  He mentioned the name of Aron Kaplan and case #13Z24258.  There is no person by such name in our household.  He didn't want to verify address on this case and gave me number to call back for details.  And this is happened to be 1-877-588-7426

Got a call from 877 588-7426 asking for my husband in nursing home. Told him no one would be home to take the papers. Ask for all information. When I got to the physical address he stated that they were all over the counrty. His name was Ron Johnson from Civil Procedures.

My husband got a call from GSA Mgmt, said they were going to serve me some legal court summons for a legal criminal case against me, that i had to call them back a.s.a.p. for a file number 13z29367 at 877-588-7426.  So i called them back, they said I owed some payday loan from 2009, when I asked them who was the payday loan with...they didn't have that information, they had no information about who is filing the lawsuite against me; they had my ss# number, which made me worry; they told me I had two options (1) to pay them (2) to go to court.  Knowing that criminal cases had to come from my district count this was suspicious so I told them I needed to check into it and call them back.  I then called the loan company I did business with back in 2009, they confirmed my account paid off and to be aware of this scam.  I checked on line and no such GSA Management existed.  So I called the phone number 877-588-7426 back and talk to a Holly Firman, asked her why they didn't have a web site...she said cuz they work for many attorneys; when i asked for the attorney name she could give me that either.  I told her this was a scam and I am not paying for  a loan I don't owe and especially pay for a loan that they couldn't even validate what company the loan was for.  Holly told me she was going to send me to court, then hung up.  I then called a consumer protection attorney, who advise me that there is no debters jail; meaning that I can't go to jail to not paying my bill, that in itself is a clue that this was a scam.  But because they had my ss#, I went ahead and put security alerts on my ss#, no telling what these scam jerks will try to do.  There needs to be tougher laws in how to deal with these jerks.  Don't fall for it.

Pay the caller no mind - it's a scammer.  No one gives a heads up about serving someone - the court process server just serves the papers.  Unless they send a debt validation letter proving that your husband owes a debt and that they are licensed to claim and collect debt in your state, they are attempting to scare you into paying a bogus debt.  Report the call to the FTC and your state's Attorney General.  Tell "Mr Johnson" that all calls he makes to you are being recorded and given to your attorney for violations of the FDCPA.

I have been receiving these same calls for about a week now. Several different people called saying they was going to send documents the next day. Finally this morning when someone called I told him I have received several calls about documents to be delivered and if they were going to send something to send them on because I was fed up with the calls. He then transferred me to the office who could explain what this was about. I stayed on hold for a few minutes then I was hung up on. Then within fifteen minutes a lady calls me from 1-855-833-3287 and said she was returning my call. She then told me it was for a 300 payday loan from 2008 and I would receive the summons on Monday if I didnt set up some type of payment arrangement. I am fed up with these calls. The week before these calls started I received calls from a different place about a payday loan from 2008 from cashnet usa. I contacted cashnet usa and they dont even offer loans in my state.

Has anyone actually received documents?

These [***] just called my elderly father and ran the line of BS about "legal papers".  I dont know how they got my fathers name since I have not lived with him for 30 years and have never given anyone outside of our family his phone number.  These are real scum bags who try to scare people into giving them money over the phone.  I dont owe them anything and will continue to ignore the phone calls threatening to "serve me with papers".

They called me at work and said they tried to serve me and I was not available. He said his name was Jason Jones and the number was 877-588-7426 and case #13211473.

Pay NO attention to the scumbags!!!  They are scam artists and what they are doing is illegal.  I don't know why the federal, state, and local authorities can't catch these people and prosecute them but I will NEVER pay them a penny because they can't arrest me or put me in jail for something I did not do.  They never give any pertinent information about the alleged debt but always are fishing for personal information from the party they are calling.  

Don't be afraid - they have NO power!  They are a pain in the butt, but I can be one also and will not give in to their empty threats!

I talked to Holly as well. Tried to tell me I had a payday loan in 2008. I didnt have a payday in 2008 at all, and I advised her even if I did, I filed bankruptcy, chapter 7 Novemeber 2012, and it was discharged February 2013. She attempted to tell me I cant include a bad check in it. I advised her I never wrote a check, and new bankruptcy laws state that in an no asset chapter 7, all debts prior to filing date whether included on petition or not must be discharged. Then she tries to tell me I have a warrant for my arrest. I advised her to find a new scam , cause this one aint working, and never deal my number with this bs again.Definitely scam artists with no knoledge of fair debt pratice or bankruptcy laws.
