- JayceeReceived call from 877-591-7020 (John Brady) instructing us to call him as soon as possible regardidng a file on his desk. I decided to check out names & numbers as we had also received a call from a lady who had the same message on a file, and stated that we needed to call a Ron Kennedy at another number, as soon as possible. I am not into making phone calls to unknown persons or numbers. Our message sounded like a well thought out scam. Don't call me; I'll call you!

- ElectricGot the same call at my new workplace. About some important file and decision that need to be made and I must consult with him first, or oh no, he'll make the decision without me. Wasn't planning on calling back and seeing all these other hits, this message goes right into the trash.
- wishbone jonesAll of you are correct. This 'John Brady' runs a 'collection clearing house' (my own definition). He actually buys very old debt from creditors who are willing to accept as little as $1 for such a list. This is debt the creditor has written off as an expense. I've run into these businesses before and they are extremely underhanded. The business takes the lists and does some rudimentary skip tracing and then attempts to make free money off debts long since expired (usually 7+ years with no activity) using offers of reduced settlements, payment plans and in some cases the threat of wage garnishment. (provided they can actually prove employment) Depending on the state in which you reside and the ties that the particular business has there, it can be very easy for these guys to enact a wage garnishment, sometimes without you even knowing it until you see your paycheck at a severely reduced amount. My main advice is to obtain your most current credit report and check to ensure accuracy. Any debt that shows up without recent activity (again, about 7 years) should be disputed, but only 1 dispute at a time as the bureau will not investigate more than 1 at a time. These guys buy so many names that they most certainly do make money so don't think that they don't. Most people are intimidated by these collectors and end up paying money for nothing except the 'promise to notify the respective credit bureaus when the debt is satisfied'. They don't provide any written proof this has even been done or attempted. Buy 1000 names and hey if 1% actually pays, free money in the bank. Now imagine a scale 20X or greater. Lists of old debt for a $1 just like the ad in the classifieds..'make money from home'. Locate the name, find the nearest local court, file the paperwork at little or no cost and sit back and wait for your judgment to allow for the garnishment of wages. I've been through this from beginning to end, having to endure the garnishment and then fighting back in court and winning, recovering my lost wages and eliminating the 'false debt'. Unfortunately most people do nothing and thus these people continue to flourish. Good luck all. Oh, call the number John Brady leaves and without revealing your name tell them they have the wrong #. It shows up on their caller id anyways, so you just say I don't know who you're looking for, stop calling and they have to, by law.

- dezzertroseI just got a message from Mr. Brady today, and I have never had an account with bank of America. I personally think that his phone number should be written on the bathroom wall of every truck stop between here and Texas, and on a personals site for free phone sex on Craigs List.

- InmiamiI've been getting these calls for months. I got the same call today from this so called Brady person. I have tried to call back and the line always drops. I have even had other friends call for me to see what happens and the call just drops also. All the messages I get from these calls are similar but my caller I'd always says the number is unavailable. I really don't know what this is about but I'm reporting it to the FCC.
