Ocwen is the name of the "company." They are apparently a "servicer" of mortgages. They keep calling and calling with automated messages with no option to get a human. I've tried calling them, but without an account number, you can't get through to a human. (I don't have an account number with them, they have the WRONG number!!!) You can't email them without an account number either. I went to their website and found an alternative number, talked to some guy in India who wasn't in the dept to handle stupidity, transferred me somewhere else...and I have been on hold forever! They are horrible to deal with. I can't imagine what they'd be like if I actually HAD an acct with them!

Same as above.  Never heard of these pepole before they started calling.  I have been called everyday for the last six weeks. How do you get rid of these people?

I, not unlike the others on this site have had the same problem with Ocwen Collection Agency. This woman "Jennifer" is relentless when calling to collect money owed by WHOEVER had my phone number before... I contacted the "Fair Trade" department and they told me that not enought people have complained about the harrassing phone calls from "Ocwen" for them to do anything about it. Which I HIGHLY doubt is the case but whatever. If you feel like logging your complaint so that we can all stop recieving phone calls from Ocwen call: 1-877-382-4357 and log your complaint. Maybe if enough of us call and complain they will do something about it. Good luck to all who are in OCWEN HELL....

I keep getting this same automated call from 877-596-8580 and the best I could do was to set a silenced mp3 as ringer for this specific number in my cell phone so it doesn't bug me. But they of course keep leaving voicemails... I have also been researching and there are some types of scams where an automated service will call and leave a message or just let ring once and hang up. Then we get curious and call back... bottom line, the number is a premium number and you are paying them when you call back and they'll try to keep you connected as much time as they can.

This ocwen calls me all the time, and i don't even have an account. When you get someone, they are indian or maybe the company is from india. they just don't stop so I did what the person above did with the mp3 thing. thanks that helps.

Yeh, I actually have an account with them but the auto-system keeps calling me and hanging up when I answer. If I don't answer it will leave me a partial voicemail. For lack of a better way to say it: Ocwen sucks.

I got through to a person by pressing the * key when I called the number back and actually got a person despite not having an account number...We'll see if this stops them from calling me everyday!

Try getting a call from them when the offices are not even open.

Ocwen called me stating I somehow owed close to $4000.  My husband was in a terrible car crash and has been hospitalized over 7 months.  The car had a loan on it through Capital One.  I had all the insurances including gap insurance on it.  Capital One received the refund for the paint warrantee, the refund for the insurance for life and accident, the refund on the insurance for the warrantee, the refund for the remaining gap insurance, my insurances payment, and then the gap insurance paid the difference between all those refunds and the total amount owed.  By the way, there was not one cent credit for the 3 1/2 years interest that was not used by them being paid off 3 1/2 years early.  Now, 2 months later they come up with me owing nearly $4000 because they didn't get the entire amount.  They turned it into Ocwen who has no English speaking people working there.  They call me at work and then ask for a "good" phone number.  Fortunately for me they're calling on a line that for some reason only they have and I don't answer most of the time nor will I give them any other phone numbers.  They want this money and they want it yesterday.  Well, they're not getting it.  I don't have a clue what Capital One has shown them telling them I owe more money and no one at Capital One or Ocwen can tell me anything about how there could be money owed when if I add up everything it comes to OVER what my total payments left would have ended up being.  Both the people at Capital One and the people at Ocwen have been rude and just not helpful.  Back when the accident first happened my insurance company called me to have me listen while they 3 way called Capital One.  They refused to give the insurance company any information including the pay off amount.  The girl from the insurance company could not believe it, that's why she wanted me to hear.  This Ocwen keeps calling though and insist I pay them $4000.  I have all my paperwork ready to go to court if it goes that far.

I also have been receiving a number of calls from 877-596-8580 with the automated message to call regarding a loan they were trying to collect.  The company's name on the message sounded like "Ackland" but from this phone number search on the Internet I discovered the name is Ocwen.  I called them back and explained that I have never had a loan with their company and that they had the wrong number.  They told me they would remove my phone number from their computer system.  Over the past 6 months, I have made this same request 3 times and I'm sure today's request won't be my last.  If anyone knows of a way to have them stop calling wrong numbers, please post it for all of us who have been receiving these annoying calls!

Ocwen is a collection agency.  To get them off your back file a complaint with your state Do Not Call Agency if you have one.  It work for me.  I no longer recieve phone calls from these people.

We get calls constantly from this number as well as 800-310-9229, they say they are from OWCEN calling for a personal business manner, we do have a mortgage with them, we have never been late and our standing is excellent with the credit bureaus. When they call they have asked for us by name, and then in order to tell us what it is about they say they need us to verify the last 4 digits of our SS #, and I tell them if that they called us, they should have all that information. I WILL NOT GIVE OUT #SS'S OR VERIFY OUR ADDRESS AT ALL !!!......I really do think it is a SCAM. They have also called from another number 800-746-2936, with the same crap, but with this number they sound like they are from India. This morning when they called, they asked for us by name, I told them they had the wrong number, the guy sounded really mad........oh well !!!......So much for the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY.......IT'S A REAL JOKE !!!.....Another thing is they are really stupid if they think people don't have caller ID, well I DO !!........HA HA HA

As reported by Ocwen: "Ocwen does charge a $10.00 fee to produce a payoff statement and a $20.00 one-time fax fee if the customer requests this delivery method. Ocwen does not charge any fees for early payoff of a customer's loan except as provided for in the terms and conditions of their Note and Mortgage". As of April 19, 2004, received copy of Notice from Office of Thrift Supervision United States Department of the Treasury. In part the notice advised of a Supervisory Agreement between Ocwen Federal Banks and Office of Thrift Supervision. The company agrees to take steps to: Improve its mortgage loan servicing practices, including its dealings with consumers whose loans are serviced by the Bank and to enhance its compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Further, the company will develop, adopt and implement an acceptable plan to improve the manner and reduce the time in which it appropriately resolves consumer complaints/disputes. This company comes under the direct supervision of the Office of Thrift Supervision, Northeast Regional Office, 10 Exchange Place, Jersey City, NJ 07302. According to a spokesperson from that agency, the company is allowed to charge these fees. They call everyday between 11:15am and 12:00pm, 1:00pm and 5:00pm. I pick up and they hangup after I saw Hello. Never here a voice and never get a answer, so I won't answer the phone. It started after signing up with att(but we never had phone service here until a month ago). The get my name relatively close with a person of an entirely diferent last name.

I've got 3 calls from these people and I haven't even had this phone number in service for more than 4 days!!!  I pressed * and actually got a representative.  He asked for my account number (which I don't have with them) and then my SSN??  I told him to look it up by the phone number they are calling me.  He asked me my name and told me since I'm not authorized on the "account", I cannot make any changes.  I guess the idiot didn't understand when I told him I'm not the person they are looking for.  He said they needed to talk to the "authorized person"  on the account to verify NOT to call my phone number????  I told him no matter how many times they call my new number, they are not going to get the person they are looking for and to DELETE my number!!  Hopefully this does the trick, but I have a feeling they will continue to call.  I guess I'll have to do the silenced ringtone if they keep up.

i had to keep hitting * key a bunch of times but did get transfered to a real person... talked to him sounded like he was another one from india... he took my number and said he would put me on a do not call list... we will see how that works.. ( i dont have much faith in it ) will report back in a few days whether it worked or not...
