the number is linked to "Advanced Call Center Technologies"  -- they are a debt recovery organization.  I don't know about the claim that they are working for Capital One but they have two numbers that I am aware of:

Be leery of strange companies demanding you to provide personal information over the phone or don't answer their calls.  Some phone companies allow you to block specific numbers calling your phone...check with your phone carrier to see if this is an option for you.

can the debt collectors harras anyone at work, and can they be stopped

They call me 16 or more times a day.  They are Advanced Call Center Technologies.   Here are two numbers they use.........

They have been harassing us all hours of the day and night about a claim we do not have.

I received a message for me to call this number but when I called I was told that they did not have any information on me

These people call me at least 4 times a day every single day. I spoke to a manager and I told them to stop calling me because they are already harrassing me. All he can say well ma'm since you dont answer that is why we call . I already have programmed it on my cell and dont answer . They are so annoying and they also call my home number

877-597-1385 continues to call my house. When you answer it, no one responds. It is like an automatted prank call and I want it to stop.

I recieve 4-5 times a day calls from this phone number and a similar one
877-597-1386. I just don't answer but really bothers. I wish there is a way to block calls from them
or any other alike.

I filed bankruptcy almost 2 weeks ago and my attorney tells me it is illegal for creditors to continue to make harassing calls once the papers have been filed.  Yet, I am still getting calls from this number and others.  If possible I would like to sue if they continue this week.

These people call all hrs of the day refuse to talk to anyone, then when you tell them they have the wrong number they continue to call back

GE Money Bank, according to other listings - a debt collector - calls and leaves no message multiple times each day.

Comes up as unavailable on my cell. Finally answered but I did not confirm I was the one they were calling for. All he would say is that it was a personal business matter that he could only talk to me about. I told him to leave a voice mail and that if she (being me) wanted to she would return the call. If he did not want to leave a voice mail stop calling. He got a snotty and said that I could take his info and give it to her (being me). He said his name was Dillon and that he was calling from Advance Call Center Technologies and the # he gave me was 1-877-597-1385. I Googled the company. Here's the website  http://www.acttoday.com/

calls couple times a day, never leaves message...friend said it could be scam or telemarket, but since no no messages  I blocked

Elan Financial - a card issuer outsourced by small credit unions. They charge high rates and hide behind the Credit Union's good name . They have no flexibility and outright lie in their written communications promising payment "plans", so they are not worth talking to. This is their actual response to a request to avoid a default -  "We do not have the ability to defer payments on your account. Additionally, we are unable to prevent a Late Payment Fee from billing to your account, should payments be missed. Each month you must pay at least the total new minimum payment due on or before the payment due date displayed on your monthly billing statement, Additionally, we cannot lower the minimum payment on your account."

They called, didn't wait for answer, no VM. I called back after reading posts here. The woman answered and stated the call was being recorded for quality, etc. I informed her I was also recording, why did they call. She sauce she did not give permission to be recorded and I told her I did not give permission either. Checked my number, said no one called. We had a few words, I ended huge call.

Called my cell number multiple times  I did not answer. I checked # on line and decided to call them. I was informed that call will be recorded but they could not find my number in their records and that it was a miss dial.  When I asked how they missed dialed over 9 times they hung up.

They call several times per day.  Do not leave a message.  I do not have any accounts they should be calling me about.  Calls are intended for someone else but they call   my number.

Get the daily calls...one of the employees a woman who must be assigned to my case, is pretty easily annoyed . Most of the agents with the collection agencies are very focused and robotic like and they don't get rattled easily especially the Indian ones, but this one woman is going to mess up and she has already crossed the line with me (yelled) but hasn't actually cursed but it's only a matter of time before she does and gets these people in trouble. ACT is a very unprofessional group.
