I dont know this number. Is callingme but I keep ignoring.

This number showed up as a missed call today.  I called the number back and the auto message said it was Con Edison looking to set up outage notifications via phone or text message.

It's supposedly a texting/SMS opt-in service from Con Edison, in the event of a major storm they let you opt in for text updates if there are service outages in your area.

Automated msg said it was con edison. Blizzard supposedly approaching in NYC so could be true. I hung up since I never have received a call like that from con ed. Many cons out there so I hung up quickly.

I did receive this missed call as well, but I remember before Sandy getting warning calls from ConEd so it's possible.

We just the same call. Didn't answer. They didn't leave a message. Good to know it was Con Ed. Storm is suppose to be bad. Stay safe.

Had two calls from this number Jan 26, 2015. Nobody on line when I pick up. I called back and got a recorded message

It is actually coned calling to warn people. About the storm and to be prepared for any outages.

same here - got a call at 7.55pm but no one was on the line when I picked up!  

Same thing here too.  They called 2 minutes ago; I picked up but, no one was on the other end and they hung up.  If it is/was ConEd, I'd love some actual information!

Got a call from this number twice. No one is on the line. Very annoying. How can it be blocked?

It is ConEd, they left me a message offering text emergency information. I called back and opted in, this is a good service :-)

It was a missed call but it went to my voice mail and was just Con Edison preparing us for storm. This happen to me also during hurricane Sandy.
