It's Fido... or a marketing firm working for Fido. I told them that they've been calling me for days and never answer when I pick up the call. They explained they are fixing their systems, so the problem should stop. However I don't believe this answer.
I had called Fido yesterday and asked them if this number is one of their marketing firms... they said no. At any rate I asked Fido to remove me off the calling list. I also told 877 622 2662 to remove me too.
I'm waiting for the iPhone to come to Canada so my Fido contract expired last November/06. I'm just on a month to month contract now. So every few months they start calling me to sign up with a new contract.
I hate it when companies don't listen to you. I've told Fido several times that I want an iPhone... so unless they intend to offer one... don't bug me. That still doesn't stop them from calling.- Caller: Fido

i got a call from them everyday for a week already. they had been calling more than few times a day. i didn't answer, because didn't know who it was, don't want to get charged long distance.
now that i read this post, now i know is Fido. then i guess the reason they call is because my contract is ending and they are offering me some kind of promotion. - jothey just called 5:05 pm. they been calling me once in a while for the last 3-4 months...
they only answered once, and told me they were fixing the problem...it was at least 2 months ago...
montreal, Qc - HacksterReceived a call from this number calling on behalf of Bank of Nova Scotia (ScotiaBank) offering a telephone service (!) called ComparAction. Comparaction is operated on behalf of ScotiaBank by CDTel Inc. (see <http://comparaction.scotiabank.com>). CDTel Inc. seems to offer similar services through Royal Bank, CAA, etc. Found no web site for CDTel Inc. The domain <cdtel.ca> is parked and held by CanadaDirect (see <http://www.canadadirect.ca> or "CanadaDirect Database Marketing Inc." which offers customer retention and telemarketing programs. Domain admin is held by <wb.ca> which is a web development firm that identifies itself as member of the CanadaDirect group of companies. This may or may not be a direct link.

- jsmithGot my first call from this number today at 18:00. My machine picked up and the woman said, "Hello, is this J. Smith?"...and then she hung up when my machine didn't respond. So annoying! - thanks for the previous posts, now I know this is just a telemarketer. I'm also a current Fido customer without a long term contract, so sounds like a good chance it is them.
Vancouver, BC - PamI've been receiving this call for a month, maybe two. They call at least, once a week, never at the same time. I just got the call, 14:19.I only answer to the phone numbers I know, so I never answer when I see this number on my phone. The thing I don't understand is, if it's Fido, why they are so disturbing? I signed a contract with them on july. Not enough?
Laval, Qc - Dan| 2 repliesI've just started to receive the 877-622-2662 calls, they are now calling daily. I have tried to answer their calls but nobody picks-up on their side. Most irritating.
Calgary, AB. - jsmith| 1 replyOk, so they just called again and I figured I'd answer to get the details on what they want (at least I can forward this info to all of you). It is Fido...they are promoting their "new and improved" call display where they display the actual name associated with the number that is calling (if that number is not already in your phone's phonebook). They say the are calling with great news! - for one month I can have this improved feature for free, after which an addition $6/month will be charged to my account. Plus I would be entered to win a Caribbean vacation! Yea, no thanks. It's always such a hassle to actually get things cancelled after the free trial period. Also, I'm not too impressed with the fact that now my full name with all initials is displayed to whoever I'm calling. So I told her that I'm not interested in the "free" upgrade, but that I would like her to change what is displayed when I place outgoing calls. She said that she can not access my account, but that if I call 611 they would be able to do that for me. So...seems to me like this is a telemarketing agency hired by Fido to sign people up for new features. But yea, Pam's got a good point...why harass and annoy your customers, Fido??

- Gjust get a phone call on my work, some noisy on the other side but nobody talk to me. I'm in Alberta with Fido too.
I go to internet and search this number, then I come here, everyone is talking about FIDO!!
I have a very weird thing need to tell everyone too beside the weird phone calls.
That I have received a huge longdistance phone bill from FIDO. The thing is I had never dial any long distance number directlly. Every time when I dial long distance phone calls, I'm always call an indirect number to make my long distance calls, (JUST LIKE TO USE A PHONE CARD)
I've been doing this more than two years.
They charge me on the indrect NO. as local call and then they also charge me the indirect long distance CALLS as direct long distance Call.
When I phone FIDO and tell them I had never make direct phone calls.
THE PHONE BILL SHOWS THAT I MADE TWO CALLS AT SAME MINUTES.
***Fido says: that I had phone the indirect no. then I put my phone on hold to make another direct long distance call. ***
IS THIS MEAN FIDO IS TOO POOR BIG COMPANY AND HAD TO CHEATING GET TO EARN MONEY?? OR THEY THINK PEOPLE ARE STUPID???
WHAT SHOULD I DO????
ANYONE CAN HELP!!!!!
I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO PAY THEM THE HUGE BILL, THAT'S NOT I DID.

Caller: FIDO - lili| 1 replyI have been bothered by this number for months. Sometimes they made two calls a day and call every day the same time. I picked up the phone and no one there. I was so frustrated.

- Michael replies to Anne| 1 replyI have been receiving calls from this number, I called Fido and found out that the 1-877-622-2662 is a marketing campaign by Fido. I asked to be removed from the list, and the Fido representative said that I will not receive anymore of these calls.
- TuniaThis number has called here 4 days last week and today at 11:30am and again at 1:30 pm. I never answered and there was no message left. What a pain - thanks for your info. I am in Quesnel BC and we can't use Fido so it must be another one of those companies.
