Someone called me from an unknown number saying to call this number. Claimed to be federal involved.

This is a SCAM. Got a call from "Sean" He said he was performing an Asset Verification and was officially notifying me that the process has begun. "My name is Sean with the Asset Verification Department" He'd need my Name, Social Security Number and Date of Birth. If I wanted to contest this i could contact him at 877.630.6491. He kept saying really official sounding things but would pause over words as though to give the impression it was a govt agency without actually saying it I'm with the Federal unclear Investigatory Division. He referenced a file number, said I could possibly avoid an adverse ruling which was "Permanent and could lead to other adverse actions" if I called within the next 24-48 hours. At the end he says (In what sounds like a Clint Eastwood Imitation "You've been officially notified") It's definitely a scam, the govt doesn't operate like this or use corny ambiguous language. Also, the caller ID showed "Unknown Number" and searching for it led to nothing but other fraud reports.”

I had the same call today. It came up Unavailable with no number which is odd. a number usually shows when an unavailable call comes through.  And the message Sean left called me by my maiden name. I have been married for 6 years! I have had a few calls from similar numbers saying they are Asset Verification Inc so I blocked them. So I think that is why they are coming up with no number.

A guy named Sean called from unknown number acted like he was Federally connected. Total scam call.

I just the same call from Sean regarding my Husband the number came up 000-000-0000 what a scam. He has to reply within 48 hours, he wanted my address and work address to supposely serve him. Wow what a scam. They legally can['t call you or demand your addresses.

this organization trying to scam PII information, making it sound like they from the Federal govt.

This person has been calling repeatedly for a week now. I have asked to be taken off of their "list", and told them that there was no one by my name at this number. It's crazy. These calls come in unknown on my phone. I did get a voicemail a few days ago after not answering, and they left a reference number and a number to call back. I refuse to, as I believe it is yet another scam. Every time it is made to sound like a threat.......
