- Josh| 3 repliesI received a call from this number this morning. The message claims that it is the "city of Houston Ambulance billing dept" and they asked me to return their call to discuss my "outstanding balance." I have never used an ambulance in my life and I have never lived in Houston. I did live in a surrounding county 5yrs ago. This is obviously a complete scam. I did try to call back because I wanted to find out how they got my number and there was no answer. Only an amateur/low quality recording for me to leave my name, number, and billing account number so they can call me back.
- Jane replies to Josh| 2 repliesI've had two calls from this number saying the same thing. My warning bells went off as I've never set foot in Houston. Whenever I get a call claiming I owe money or have won something, I do a google search because there are so many of these scam artists trying tricks like this now. It's a shame people have resorted to scamming innocent people to make a few bucks. They don't realize it, but it will hit them back one day, big time.
- Sandra replies to JaneSame thing, calls telling me to call them and then when you do it is an automated system saying to leave a message. No invoice number or details about what they are calling about...I never lived in Houston and haven't been there in 40 years.
- PeterJust got the same call today, Jan 10, 2014, and the same answering machine. I do live in Houston so I call the City info number, 311, and filed a complaint with them.

- UnearthlyDustI missed a call from them. I was recently in an ambulance here in Houston. The medic apparently did not take down my medical card correctly.. They are sending me a letter for me to fill out. No big deal.

- RiderI give out an eVoice number for businesses an the like. The message arrives by e-mail. I haven't taken the time to retrieve and listen to it, but it is probably legitimate. I did have a ride in a City of Houston ambulance which got lost on its way to the hospital. Fortunately, I didn't have anything major going on, or I might have died en route. They even took a toll road which completely bypasses the hospital area, had to turn around and return to where we should have been about 30 minutes earlier via surface streets. My wife, waiting at the hospital, had really started worrying.
So, yeah. It's probably a legitimate call. Unless you've never been to Houston, of course. I wonder if folks who do not intend to pay simply give out random numbers so they can't easily be tracked down.- Caller: City of Houston Ambulance Billing

- MikeMissed call. Must be legit if it's City of Houston Ambulance Services as I was in one two weeks ago. Not sure I know what they want though as I provided all insurance info. Will find out soon I'm sure.
- Agwhen I answered, it was a recording telling me a number to call back. If it were legit, it wouldn't have been so vague. Also, I have never been in an ambulance IN MY ENTIRE LIFE or hospitalized so it's obviously a scam. Stupid people these days.
- dianeI just got a call, and have never received service from them! Definitely a scam,
- JonThis is actually the number for Houston City ambulance. If you received a call it was probably because someone gave them a bogus number. Here is the website in case:
