- lisaabc123| 3 repliesI am receiving daily recorded calls where there is no option to request to be put on their Do Not Call list. Finally, got a live person stating they were with Consumer Services in Orlando, Fl. with a phone number of 877-696-1474 (ext. 220, Latoya). Stated that they worked for my existing Mastercard and Visa credit card banks, & that they could lower my credit card interest rates if they were in good standing. Wanted my personal information and all of my credit card numbers and information. This has to be a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR INFO TO THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- ber| 6 repliesI received a call about lowering my credit card interest rates. I stayed on the line and spoke to someone who said he couldn't give out his number but he gave me the corporate number, which was 877-696-1474. The woman there said they were a financial agency and they do not do solicitations. She said the someone gave me that number to brush me off but basically, it came out that they contract agencies to do their solicitations for them and she asked me for my name and number. Please, am I an idiot?
- Vikki replies to ber| 2 repliesi just wanted to say that i got my interest rates lowered through this company and saved atleast $7342 in saving my interest rates ran from 30% to now a cool 7.9% fix rate i am very pleased with this company and i would recommend any one who has high interest rates to at least consisdered this as an option.
- rickmed| 2 repliesVikki, they called me too with the same promises. Guranteed a savings of at least $2500 within 60 days and lowering my APR from high rate to a single digit percent. So do you know if they acted in a bankrupcy type method to reduce your rates with your credit card company? Meaning did your credit score decrease as a result in working with these folks?

- Mary| 2 repliesI received calls from this number for several times. Today I decided to hit option #1, as I wanted to understand what company was that & where they were calling from. I spoke with Paula (Cust. Service Rep.) who gave me the 1-877-696-1474 & told me the name "Consumer Serivces". I told her I need to do a research before I trust them, as I didn't want to become an Fraud Victim. She asked me for my Phone# & called me back in 2 minutes (probably thought I gave her a wqrong #). Then I told her I'm on Internet & researching the phone # she gave me. She kind of got surprised but wasn't able to say anything productive. I told her I needed to doublecheck with my boss before contacting them back. Please, let me know if anyone has found out about this "suspecious company". I asked if they were a Private Bank or what. She told me they are working with different banks. Anyway, I thought it didn't worth giving away more than my phone # to them.

- Chris replies to Mary| 1 replyI rec'd a call from them today and decided to press #1. I played along with the gal and got her to tell me her Customer Service number. Then I told her I was on the DNC Registry, and she then gave me a bogus number to call to remove me from their list. I tried back the 877-696-1474 number and asked for a manager. A nice girl named Lea answered, and I told her that she would need to remove my number or I would need to contact the Feds. She took my number down and gave assurances that she would take care of it. She sounded sincere, but I'm not counting on it.
- shelly| 2 repliesrecived a call from these people they said they would help reduce my APR on my credit card. They charge $997. to your credit card. I called them to tell them I didn't want thier services, sent all thier paperwork back to them not filled out and they will not refund the money. They have to go through negotiating procedures... I will never talk to people like this again! They are horrible people

- jan18375 replies to Vikki| 1 replyDid they charge your credit card for this service? My phone conversation indicated that they would not, it would be paid by MC/VISA
- Frances| 4 repliesRefer to entry above. Despite the fact that I called American Express quickly on 3/14 and asked them not to put through that charge they went ahead and did it. I found that out today when I called to ask them to change my account number. AMEX told me today that they cannot refuse to put through any charge sent to them. For them to look into it can take up to 6 to 8 weeks. They said that the $997 charge is listed on my account as "Mail Order" from GRA Mercy Park (that may be Gramercy Park).
- chris| 1 replyclaimed to be taking info to reduce my credit card debt, said he took info then passed it to non-profit called consumer law group who actually did the re-structuring,but couldn't give me their 501-(3)(c)# soI asked for call back # and here I am

- TERI replies to shellyShelly, I also talked to these people. You need to call your credit card companies and have them change your card numbers and void out your old numbers. I did this with 2 of my Visa accounts immediately after the call and I did a fraud alert with Equifax and contacted the main fraud line with Visa with all the information so they will be investigating it. These people misrepresented themselves as working for Visa and Mastercard when they called me. I was told by Visa that I would not be responsible for any charges because I reported it immediately and they have a fraud protection. If your card was a Visa, contact their card division at 1-800-847-2911 and Equifax.com to put a fraud alert on your credit report. I hope this helps anyone else.
- Jeph| 1 replyI'd never heard of any of this before, but I got The Call this morning. From what I can tell after doing some online research, my call followed the usual pattern: I press 1 to lower my credit card interest rates, they take all my credit card info, they promise to lower my rates and save me at least $2500, and then they make me agree to a $799 processing fee while recording me.
I don't know why, but I did all this. They then gave me a callback number of 877-696-1474, and told me that someone would be calling me shortly to continue the process. While I waited, I googled that number, found this site, and read up on this scheme. When I got my follow-up call, I declined their offer. I later called the 877 number back to make sure that my cancellation was on-record, and was assured that it was.
However, since the recorded bit stated that the $799 was "non-refundable", I doubt they'll honor my cancellation. (There was some weird promise that the $799 would be refunded if they failed to save me at least $2500 in credit card interest fees ... but I don't trust it, to be honest.)
So -- I cancelled my credit card. :-) LET them try to charge it now, we'll see what happens. I'm sort of wondering if they're going to try to sue me because I promised on tape to pay them $799.
(Has anyone else done this? What were the results?)
In any event, I'm posting this because I think I have a new phone number to add to your lists -- I *69'ed the guy who called me back for the follow-up call. His name was Rich, he had a thick British accent of some kind, and he was calling me from 407-812-7042 -- a Florida number that, according to reverse-lookups, is for "Fcl Pc Repair", a computer repair company.
So ... yeah. Just adding whatever small bits of info I can, to try to help out. They scheduled a "follow-up call" with me for May 22, so I'm wondering if that's when they get angry that I blocked their attempt to charge me $799. We'll see ... and if they do call back, I'll try to get more names/numbers/info.
Wish me luck ... and do what you will with Rich and his computer-repair number...

I am very interested in your situation. have you made any progress? please provide me with an update. i'd be happy exchange information and hopefully help each other out if you are willing. --JMG - TuseJeph, The fee is now up to $999. I just got my callback to confirm the account. They mentioned the fee and I told them that that card has been canceled. I'm pretty sure that the recording and all the legalities are a ruse. If they are crooks you won't have to worry about them taking you to court for breach of contract. My call came for Porto Rico. The first two calls showed up as 0 on my caller ID. I didn't answer the second one, but the third was 787-652-1499. I told the lady they have been getting alot of complaints and she said that she can't believe that. I said that I am reading them right now. She then had the gall to try to get me to give her another credit card number. She said that the were working with some consumer agency but I hung up before I wrote the name down. That is probably some sham company too. I did request a list of happy customers so I could find out id they were legitimate or not, and she said that there was no way that they would do that. What legitimate company won't want to give you a list of happy customers? These people on the phone don't sound that intelligent to be financial professionals either. I'd like to hear from Deb that said she saved alot of money on lower interest a few months back, now that she has had a few months to experience the benefits. Hopefully, she is not the victim of fraud. And why all the caller id's to seamingly unrelated businesses?

I answered the phone (062-223-8900) and a lady Gail talked to me... I thought OMG my answer. See I have a couple cards that I want to pay off so badly. Then she transfered me to Erik Eastling ID#2826...very nice guy and he told me so many great things and I gave him info for two credit cards and then he transfered me to Lisa ID#9802 Resoltion (?) Corp. Licence #3052 (not very polite) and she told me it was only $699 to save over $4000. she gave me a confirmation number and had recorded part of the conversation. The contact number they gave me to cancel or if I had questions was 1-877-696-1474. She then set me up a time for a finacial counsler to call me. Then it was done. I came on here right after hanging up and called the 877 number to cancel ... after over 20 mintues on hold I called my credit card company and she told me that yes it is a scam and that #1 reason is that if you want your interest rate lowered you contact the credit card...NO ONE will ever contact you!!! So I cancelled both the cards. My visa company told me that I will probably not hear from them in regards to giving them authorization. Just in case I am going to shoot my lawyer a fax! I feel so stupid! My visa person told me not too cause these people are professional scammers and they are convensing... They worked on my emotions...I have two infants at home and can not afford to be taking by these people... so I had to do something. Know I just worry cause they have my address! Thanks again for posting your story!! I hope I can help someone too! Take Care - susanI to had a call from this company. At first i was a bit scared but i went through with it because i was guaranteed to save at least 2500 dollars. That whole night i kept thinking about it . The next day i woke up and the first thing i did was call the number that was given 1-877-696-1474. i spoke with paul he told me that they would drop the interest rates immediately. supprisingly enough they did. my rate on my chase dropped from 29.9% to 7.5% my discover went from 24.9 to 9.9. so i have nothing bad to say except i didnt like the charge but the ammount i saved more than made up for it.
- FritzThese guys a crooks. They called and made the same promises to me about lowering my credit card. That very same day they were unable to do so even though I have good standing with my credit card. The next thing I know they charged my credit card $799.00 for services they never were able to perform. I have called them several times and asked them to take the charge off. They say they will, but never do. It has been 70 days now and the charge is still on my card. I talked to them today and they told me that the company DIA is closed and that they Cororated offices just povide services for them and are unable to do anything about my refund.Don't do anything with these people. You can get your credit card interest rate lowered yourself simply by calling your credit card company and asking them to lower it.

$1,499 current rate interest may be lowered to 6.99% no time limit on refund policy if at least $2,500 is not saved through their intervention. Asked what they were doing that we could not do ourselves and she explain that contact the Senior Credit Analysist at the banks were we would not have access to someone that high up by calling customer service. She also explained they work in conjuction with Visa to keep customers using their charge cards instead of paying off and cancelling. An appointment was also made for 7/17/08 8pm to let us know what they were able to arrange for interest for us. I also have a Mailing Address do not know how true it is:

- Vivian| 1 replyoriginal call above came into my cell phone while on my lunch break no time to check out their claims. When I got home I called my credit card company and they suggested I speak to their fraud dept. were they agreed I should cancel the number given which I did. They also said that it did not matter who was called interest rate negotiations would not be done with an outside source unless they were paying off the card and then I would be paying the loan back to them. By the way they specifically said that is not what they do that the cards would remain in use and I would continue to make payments same as before only the interest rate would be reduced. Could it be that the two entries to this site who claimed they were helped by this service actually work for the service and are a plant?
