- SharonF| 1 replyA caller with an Indian accent called claiming to be from the Department of Health and Human Services. This is the third call we've received from a source claiming this. I told them to never call again and that if they did, I would report them to the FBI. They started to protest, and I stated that these calls were scams and that they could go to jail. I asked if they understood. They said yes, but asked if they could call me back in 10 minutes. I said no and hung up.

- Cassandra M. JonesThis number calls my home EVERYDAY starting at 930am and racks up about 6-10 calls per day!!!! They never say anything when I answer and they hang up on my voicemail! PLEASE STOP!!!!

- ChrisRec'd a call this morning from someone who said he was from HHS and need to verify some information. I called the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services hotline (same number that appeared on my caller id). HHS Hotline representative said call was from someone using HHS's phone number and that HHS does not make these kind of phone calls.
- Caller: "HHS"
- Jon M.| 8 repliesJust got a call from 'this number' - I could hear the chatter in the background so I knew it was from a call center. It was obviously a scam by the questions they were asking, and apparently they are providing an actual HHS caller ID number... very deceptive--hope someone can track these people down & arrest them for fraud.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Patricia Pellecchia| 1 replyThe calls started yesterday asking me what prescription drugs I had taken. Today the caller stated that I will be killed tonight. The caller had a filipino accent. How do I stop or block these calls??
- Call type: Prank
- Susanne| 1 replyThe caller ID read: "DHHS INFO GOV 877-696-6775" and hearing the caller, I knew this was a scam.
They are becoming a bit more daring trying to impersonate government workers. I believe this is a CRIME.
Here's the call: Philipino voice said, "Hello Ma'am, I'm calling from the Dept. of Health and Human Services. How are you today?" After a pause, I said, "I'm busy. You need to take our number off your call list." to which he replied, cheerfully, "I will call you back. Bye!"
I will now block this call with our Comcast call filtering service which seems to be working well.- Caller: Scam artist
- Unhappy recipient| 1 replyI received a call from this number yesterday. I answered because of the name that appeared on
caller ID: DHHS Info Gov.The man with an accent said he was calling from DHHS and said their records showed I'd taken Lipitor. I said I had not. Then he asked if I'd used an IUD. At that I hung up.- Call type: Prank
- ConcernedI just got a call from this number, I have received several calls from this number recently. It apparently is some kind of a fraud, it would have to be a crime to represent yourself as representing a government agency. It was from a call center and the person had a strong Indian accent. When I asked for clarification of what organization they were from they simply hung up. My guess is that they are looking for elderly p

- pmmw/PatAdd me to the list.....this darn number keeps calling my house 5-6 times a day. Give it up already. I don't answer phone calls without knowing who it is. How does this happen ??? And don't tell me to go on the no calling list, it doesn't work. And yesterday I even got a phone number that started like this....2-389- ### What the heck is that ??? Seriously is that a over seas number, I have no idea. What makes me mad is that if someone has a sick person in the house, a elderly person they have to hear the phone ring all darn day. It's a shame and how the government is allowing this is beyond me. And don't get me started on the cell phones. They don't want you talking or answer the cell phone when your driving then don't allow these people to call cell phones either. I use mine for emergency purposes only and I am appauled how the whole United States is allowing these calls to go threw. And how the heck do you get a number that doesn't show who you are? I'd like to know that one too. Well I can go on and on....my best was I answered the phone one night just as we were sitting down to eat dinner. I answered the phone and asked the person if they could hold on a minute until I finished something, they said sure I can do that.....with that I laid the phone inside my untensil drawer, we ate dinner and when after I cleaned up the dishes off of the table, the darn fool was still holding one, roflmao.......on other time, someone called at dinner, I said Excuse me, can I have your number so that I can call you at your home during the dinner hour, lol, they hung up on me. I love the fact that we can communicate with people all over the world if we want by phone, but allowing these nut wackers to call us is just down right wrong.

- Brigitte replies to Unhappy recipientI got this same exact call
- Ticked offWhenever someone with a heavy Indian accent by the name of Steve, Ben, Sam or whoever answers, my suspicions rise off the charts. I have recv'd two calls in three days. It happens again and some federal agency is getting a call.
- Caller: HHS?
- Miffed!I received this call today, about 9:30am. It was the same number that called yesterday evening, regarding a 2015 tax-credit for Obama Care - Affordable Health Insurance. Her name of Maria - said she was trying to verify information for the 2015 tax-credit for my husband and I. I gave her no information and hung up.
- Caller: Dept. of Health and Human Services
- JudyMultiple calls from this number over the past several weeks. There is never a response when I answer the call. So annoying and frustrating.
- Caller: "US Government"

- Mo KWeird. Came home, there was a message from someone in a slight European accent saying "Hello? Hello? Is someone there?" Then hung up. I called the number back and it's a legit one for HHS Hotline and they mention the website healthcare.gov. Still don't know why they called me. Does sound like the number was "hijacked" or something. Anyway, this is the first time I've rec'd a call from this number so I'll find out soon enough if it was a fluke or persistent.
- Caller: HHS Hotline
- JKI received the calls also. Caller ID identified as: DHHS Info Gov and a person with an Indian accent identified himself as being with the Dept. of Health and Human Services. There was a lot of noise and talking by many people in the background. When asked who he was calling he identified me by name. When asked why he was calling he stated 'your free compensation'. He began asking numerous questions related to personal health history. I said 'No thank you I leave any of this to my doctors'. I have an unlisted landline and no idea where they got my name and number.
- Caller: DHHS Info Gov
- DottieBEWARE...THIS IS AN INCOMING ONLY "HOT LINE" NUMBER FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES. ACCORDING TO THE DHHS, THEY DO NOT MAKE OUTGOING CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER. IF YOU SEE THIS NUMBER ON YOUR CALLER ID, IT IS A FRAUDULENT CALL.

- L from DenverI received a call from this number today. A man with a heavy indian(India) accent claimed he was from Health and Human Services. I could tell he was in a call center and there was no way he was working for HHS. I told him flat out that I knew this was a scam and he just wanted to get my personal information. I told him I was going to report this number as a phishing scam. He wanted to know what 'scam' meant. I said it means you want to try to steal from me. He said he didn't want any personal information and then went on to ask if I'd had surgery long ago in the past. That they had 'Medical Money Reimbursement' for me. I laughed and said 'Right'. I said well if you aren't after my money or information, tell me who you think you are talking to. He repeated that he didn't want to steal anything. Then went on to ask if anyone in our home had surgery go wrong. I'm thinking he can barely speak English, how can he possibly be working for a government organization in a role dependent on good communication? I told him 'No' to everything, so he quickly hung up.
- Caller: Health and Human Services (NOT!)
- pmmw/PatWhat I can't understand is how this is happening. If you and I were to ask for a phone that could call out only and not receive calls in, they'd have someone checking us out in a heart beat, to see what we were up to that wasn't on the up and up. Seriously. They don't want you talking on the cell phone, well do something about it, make it so that once you get into a vehicle calls, texting can't be made, simple as that. This do not call list is a huge joke. I had a friend that went on it and got more calls then before when she wasn't on it. I've been getting a call from different parties because it's election time. I don't let anyone know what party I am voting for and believe that should be a private thing. Well, they sure don't take no for a answer either, they keep calling and calling and WHO are these people? You never heard of John Dow until it's election time and then I get a pre-recorded message from him telling me what the other party is doing wrong, but never tell you what they are going to do. I swear if I didn't need a phone for emergency purposes I wouldn't even have one. Shame that we have to deal with crank calls from organizations. And as far as caller ID, what good is it, you never know if someone is trying to get in touch with you for a emergency from somewhere else. So, what do you do.....answer the phone...........and they wonder why the US is tops in high blood pressure.
Well thanks for listening, sometimes I just need to vent about this crap.
