Ligit? How so? They call me. I have no bizz with them.

Yep, this is USAA.  I do have business with them and they called the day after my birthday so I'll bet their calling about my term life insurance.

USAA Life Insurance Dept- Legit! I've never received an unwanted sales call from them.

I recently increased my life insurance and they were calling me back.

I just got a call from the number while on another call. They did not leave a message but thank you to those who said it was USAA.  I was looking at Life Insurance earlier this week and probably saved a quote or two, so I'm sure that is why they were calling.  Just to follow up. Thanks again and have a great Holiday!

they may have a wrong person when they call.. but they are legit and it is usaa insurance. I think the life insurance portion.

They are NOT allowed to call you if you don't do bizz with 'm (and you're on the NC list)!

That's actually not true at all.  The Do Not Call list only covers telemarketing - so if they are actively going to try and sell you something on THAT call.  If they are trying to get something else from you - like a committment to speak with a financial advisor or meet with a life insurance agent, they can call anyone.

Let's not play around with words here. In seeking "a committment to speak with a financial advisor or meet with a life insurance agent," USAA is COLD-CALLING and SOLICITING an interview with the callee, therefore DONOTCALL rules do apply because a sale may be in the offing. The only callers excepted from DONOTCALL rules are polictians, surveys, charities and scammers; for everyone else, including for-profit USAA, DONOTCALL rules apply, like it or not.

If it is USAA that makes sense to me, as I just got a call I ignored, and a voicemail that only recorded the last half of.  But we are members, and have been looking into increasing our coverage.  I believe with the Do-not-call list, if you have any business with any of their services, they can call you about their other services.  So if you bank with them, but don't have insurance, they can still call you.  But I have to say, I don't recall ever getting a cold sales call from USAA in the 10 years I've been a member.  Lots of mail with offers yes, but no sales calls.  Also, it is possible that a person who previously had your phone number was a member.  Unless you live in Texas, everything is done by phone or internet, it is easy to forget to update everything when you are military and move so much.  Just last year we discovered that while all my husband's info had been updated for each move, mine still listed the first house we lived in as a married couple!  I'm sure if you pick up once and tell them they've got the wrong number, they will leave you alone.

OK They said they were USAA but they were rude and demaned my mothers maiden name and password.  That does NOT sound ligit to me at all!!!  The guy was rude and it scared me and I hung up.

I just got a call from this number today,... I do all my business with USAA, but wasn't expecting them to call.

They called today, LEGIT! its USAA life.

By the way, if they call you and you are not a member chances are it is by mistake either on their part in what number they have on file, or a mixup. USAA does not place cold calls to anyone. USAA is not a service that is available to just anyone, you must be military or direct family of military in order to qualify. They would be wasting alot of money placing cold calls to random folks.

Just got a call on our main line at work.  When I answered, the robo-dialed started to ring me through to someone so I hung up.
