Left a vague message on my voice mail telling me to call.

This number has called me multiple times a day for the past couple weeks. They have also called my parents and random people I work with. STOP calling me this is ridiculous and so is your fake company.

Received several messages from the following: 877-699-2157.
It is ONLY a recorded message and a Woman's voice reads the following message:
Your failure to respond to our previous communication has prompted our legal requirement for a second notification. Under no circumstances should you under estimate the importance of this call.
Docket information can be obtained at 677-699-2157, again 677-699-2157.
Needless to say: I did NOT return the call. I used another phone and called the number. A male party only identified as: "Steve" answered and said he was only an operator. I did NOT tell him the actual number I had received the above call. He refused to tell me what company, business, or who this number belongs to. He insisted that I provide him with my name and the number the recording was received on. I told him that this "scam" never asked for anyone in particular and I refused to provide him with any other information and hung up.
Advice: Don't call the number and let others know about this information so they can file a complaint with the FTC.

"Brian" called and told me my daughter was going to be prosecuted for some illegal bank dealing. He said he had talked to her ex-husband who confirmed details.

First of all, she is still married and hasn't had any illegal bank dealings.

Not sure what he wanted from me. I hung up

Said the company was IDS, but can't find anything about a company by this name that handles investigations.

Unfortunately for you, I've reported you to the Warren County Sheriff Department in Ohio for suspicious activity. They will follow through on their investigation, since you have given them false information pertaining to a claim your making against me. The organization you've named and are claiming to represent has never heard of you. Good luck to you in your future. Sorry, but you should have known better.

I figure he's trying to scare you and will follow_up with the rest of the scam later in order to steal money from you.  Just assume it's for real and wait for the federal government to get with you about it.  Your daughter will have plenty of time to prepare a response to any real prosecution from the federals.  You can't pay your way out of criminal charges, anyway - that's another crime - bribery!

Meantime, don't fret about the scamming strangers on your phone and just continue your pursuit of happiness.

877-699-2157 belongs to a telephone exchange service.  Multiple businesses can rout their outgoing calls through this switchboard, and they will all show as 877-699-2157 on your Caller ID.  I have received calls from this Brian person from IPS.  He states that his name is Brian Elliott and ISP is Interstate Process Service LLC, but it's hard to determine if it's true or not.  Anyway, remember that no matter what they say, or no matter whoever calls you, you are under NO obligation WHATSOEVER to disclose any information over the phone, as the identity of the caller can not be verified.  Even if the caller identifies him/her-self as polic, FBI, IRS, Homeland Security, whatever, you are under no obligation to share any information over the phone.  If it is a Law Enforcement entity, you can always request that they set up a face-to-face meeting.  And no courts serve over the phone, nor are you obligated to share any info with process servers, skip tracers, etc. over the phone.

Received a message on my answering machine to call this number. The female voice states they have been trying to contact someone at my home phone number. I've received many hang up calls regarding this scam but NO real person to talk to. I just delete the call and will NEVER call 877-699-2157.
