Cellular phone while driving, no mention of company name, no information about the purpose of the call, threatening and rude.

Got a call from this number on voice mail.  Call was from Nancy at the Offices of CRA.  Will not call back it is a collection company that buys old debt that has past the statute of limitations.  Since I don't have any bad debt, there is no reason to call.  

They have called before asking for some person that I don't even know.  If they call again I'll report them to the FTC, and the BBB.

Hi Dina.  What state do you live in?  When did you receive the call?  I too believe that this is a bunch of "debt collectors" who are trying to scare people into paying charged off accounts.  Idiots.

tried to call this number back to threaten them and it told me the number cannot be completed as dialed and if i feel i am in recording error to contact the operator. i wanted to call them and make a few threats of my own. they want legal repercussions i have some time to spend with them in court. i need a paycheck and a harassment civil suit sounds just like my kind of fun....oh the trauma...i feel the punitive damages and emotional duress stacking up.

Just received a very threatening message from a woman named Stephanie (who sounded like a man) who said that she just wanted to inform me of a grave situation. The number that came through however was a 757 number.

Got a call from Lisa Cambell 877-704-9454 CR and associates. Said it was serious..mentioed a name I do not know.. scammers.

Also got a very menacing sounding call from someone named Mrs. Berman.  Wouldn't give me the company's name or anything.  Said she needed to talk to my husband.

Got a call from a Miss Sawyer at CRA.  She sounded ominous.  Said she needed to talk to me or my representative (read lawyer, implied legal action) right away. Did not identify herself a a debt collector or explain the purpose of the call.

I recieved a call claiming to be grave situation.  It was a debt collector looking for the wrong person.  They were rude and threatening me and I wasn't the person they were looking for.

1-877-704-9454 called my cell phone asking for my husband and said they needed to talk to him concerning a "situation he was unaware of"....these people are MORONS!!!

Got a voice mail message, left at 8:30 a.m. this morning by a man, "Mr. Gosnell," with southern accent, and effecting a very "friendly" tone.  He used my first name and said there was an "important" situation of of which I was unaware, and he needed to "bring me up to speed."  This outfit obviously uses "surnames" rather than first names, and although others indicate discourteous messages, his was almost like somebody who wanted to deliver some good news.  He also identified as "CRA," but only as that.  As others here have noted, this is one of those firms which buys old debt packages, long past statute of limitations, for ¢'s on the $'s.  These people autodial many numbers, sometimes leaving voice messages (as here), sometimes not.  A friend, far more informed than I tells me that often, live reps. will observe and pick-up live the first call they note as having been answered by someone "live" on other end - then try to coax or threaten some sort of payment from that person.  Other calls, even answered, will go unaddressed or may leave message.  In my case, I was divorced several years ago, and there were no major or past-due debts, and I had a lawyer take care of everything.  Nobody could be contacting me for anything current, and if my attorney let something "fall between the cracks," it would be minor and FAR beyond any period of collectability.  These weasels are just the same old collection types who now use telephonic technology to make 1000's of calls, just hoping to collect a few bucks on a small %age - and at price they pay, this small proportion is profitable.  Ignore them, and never get into deep communication, which I'm told CAN result in a debt's being restored to collectible status.             .

Yep, I just got a message today too. They are pretty good at the drama. I wonder if they hire struggling actresses. She said CRA was handling an important situation and she wasn't sure if I was aware of what a grave situation I was in.  I was so stressed out about something else, I panicked, luckily I came here and am now like yeah, I don't have any old outstanding matters either. Thanks everyone.

Just got a message from CRA and said it was important she talk to me or my representation. The call came from Anderson, S C from a 864 area code.The number she left on answering machine was 877 number.

I also got a call from stephanie that sounded like a man sometime today.  Said that there was a situation that they weren't sure that I was aware of and she wanted to help me resolve it.  I never heard of this place before.  Im pretty srue that if it is real that I should be getting a letter from them within the next week or two.

I got a call from these people yesterday looking for my brother that lives in a totally different state then me, whom i have not even spoken to since 2004, wth is wrong with these people. I don't even know if my brother lives in the same state as he did. I told the girl I assume it was a debt collection and she replied with no, it is in effort of getting a statement from him. yeah right, so now they have called MY home, harassing ME and LIED about the purpose of the call to boot. My Dad said they have been calling him as well. My question is WHY they called ME. NOT very happy.

Larry called and indicated he was from CRA.  He said he had some important information concerning a file, that he needed relay to me.   Thanks for the information included here concerning these scammers.

I got the same call, looks like they've been trying to make a few bucks the last couple of days.  I spoke to a Mr. Scott who after I called an a*#hole decided to hang up, I guess being ruder than them scares them off!

I just got a message on my cell phone from a Stephanie who said she was calling from CRA and she just wanted to give me a heads up about whats going on around there that she was sure I didn't know about.  She said the situation was grim, ans then she hung up.

These people just started calling my cell phone about a week ago, out of the blue.  They call a couple times a day.  I never answer800 numbers on my cell phone.  They don't identify themselves as debt collectors.  I think they need to be turned in.
