Got home listened to message left on phone in EXTREMELY POOR English.  Had to listen to it three times just to get the return number, let alone the rest of the message.  Called back after blocking my number and they answered that it was the IRS.  I asked a couple of questions and they hung up on me.

Fake IRS call. He left me a voicemail claiming that the there is a federal investigation on my residence and I owe the IRS 3000$. I have received similar calls in the past same scam. It always appear that the caller has some heavy accent with an American name. Do not respond to this and do not answer, if the IRS want something they will send mail and never call you.

They are scammers out of South Asia,   India/Pakistan area.   They usually spoof the 202 area code to make it look like Washington DC.   Low life sewer rats....

Same thing here - pretending to be the IRS.  Indian(-like) accent pre-recorded message.  This spam smells like curry and B.O.

Got similar call from this guy. I blocked my number and called back. He said do there is criminal case against me. Do I have lawyer. I said you are fake people stop harrasing people. He said cops are on their way to arrest me, if I dont respond. I said you can do anything you want to do. IRS do not call. They send letters.

He definitely did not sound like Indian or Pakistan. I think its middle eastern accent.

Got another call from them again today.  Recognizing the number I decided to pick up and mess with them.  I told them that I was who they were calling for and the same person with terrible English transferred me to someone else who spoke less terrible English.  As he began asking me questions, I cut him off and asked him what my SSN was.  He said, "Get lost" and hung up on me. Scammers.

Got the call! Same story "Calling from IRS there is a law suit against you...will transfer to my Senior, here's your case number".....big tim scammers! Please be aware! I am reporting this number to the police.

Same here. A message on my answering machine from man with a heavy accent, who said his name was Valim Dawtum from the Internal Revenue Service Tax Audit Department. I had to listen to the message several times to decipher that. He said that I needed to call back within two hours or face the consequences of the "criminal investigation." The IRS never calls --- they will send a letter to correspond with the taxpayer.

I spoke with my CPA. He says "IRS will NEVER call you. They would send written notifications if necessary". Don't lose your sleep over this! I called them back and told them I am reporting them - they seemed pretty nonchalant - they perhaps know that they cannot be traced??

I answered the phone and was transferred to this Valim guy - he threatened me of consequences if I hung up or interrupted him when he is speaking...the accent was a give away for me and I just hung up! Later I called them back and told them I would report them - they were nonchalant!

This number called my wife at work, so i called them back.  I knew it was a B/S call from the get go, and it makes it better that I am an Investigator at my local sheriff's office.  Long story short, i gave them hell.  I called them back to back relentlessly from the county office landline (just incase they called back, it would be a direct line to a sheriff's office) to the point where they begged me to stop calling.  I'm gonna keep it up for the next few days, until the phone gets disconnected.

That man sound Typical Indian( as i am from that region too)Its is totally SCAM. Then today i got call from 202 506 9967 saying that i am calling from IRS call me back. Totally SCAM, coz IRS does not call and top of that On "SATURDAY".

Lol Got the same call on my house phone today 7-28-2014. Was in fact an Indian man claiming he was calling from the internal revenue service and continued on to stay that there was a law suit in my name and that my house address was under federal investigation. I never received a letter or anything so it was without a doubt a huge SCAM. And I would of feel for it if it wasn't for all these posts. Thank you ladies and gentleman for your input.
