- shelly| 1 replySomeone called leaving this number - however they are calling for a relative who doesn't even have my phone number so I have no idea how they got my number. Says it is imperative that she calls them immediately if she is going to help in a complaint filed against her. Did not leave a company name.

http://phonehelp.2truth.com/ - DLY| 2 repliesThis is from a debt collection agency by the name of Hartford & Associates. They like to practice scare tactics in order to collect a debt. They will continuously call your relatives & harass them saying things like "this is your son, don't you want to help him? Use an overall condescending tone and are very rude. The number they call from is always blocked (I don't think debt collectors are allowed to block their number anymore) and when you call them they answer by only saying "corporate office." If they are calling you keep track of the calls & don't erase the messages. Not sure what the deal is but something isn't right with the practices of this company. Has anyone else had the same experiences?

- Jixer99 replies to Slim| 1 replyEven if you tell them the person doesn't live there and you don't have contact with them, the calls continue. Putting your name on the do not call list now days is a waste of time as well. Any other suggestions to stop the calls?
- Louise| 2 repliesMy client has received numerous calls from this phone number claiming they are going to serve legal papers. They are extremely rude and very abrupt and condescending. I tried to explain to them that my client had filed bankruptcy and that I needed a mailing address to send them notification. They out right refused to give me an address. After going several rounds with this company, I was able to get out of them a "physical address" to mail the notification to. They provided me with P.O. BOX 27068 LA PAZ RD #553 ALSIO VEIJA CA 92656
Upon further research, I realized this is for a UPS Store. The UPS Store

Calling about a credit card we have never had, and they say it was from 7 years ago. They are surprised we have not gotten a summons, as we are "being sued".Offered (and Only because it was Good Friday to settle for 1/2 of the over one thousand dollar "claim". Refuse to send us a letter regarding purported bill.

- Elspeth replies to wackattackThen they can't be too legitimate, if they refuse to comply with the FDCPA! Per that act, you should not pay any caller who refuses to MAIL - do not accept email or fax - proof that you owe a debt and proof that they can legally collect said debt. Refusal to mail this documentation is a violation of the FDCPA. Threatening you with a court summons (if they don't actually serve you) is also a violation of federal law. All in all, the trademarks of a very scummy debt collection agency or an outright scammer.
Please do report them to the FTC, CFPB, and your state's Attorney General.

- Carol replies to Louise| 1 replyI got that same call too so paid my debt- when they emailed me receipt i paid a Foothill Mgmt group but address was to the La Paz Road. Can someone help me figure this out! I think I got scammed
- William replies to CarolYes, you got scammed, but how did you pay them?
If you gave them a credit or debit card number, go to the police and file a report : Theft by Deception.
Then go to your bank with that report and request a chargeback.
Never pay any stranger who calls you on the phone who demands you send them money.
Demand they mail you proof the debt exists - by USPS mail - and that they have a right to collect it.
