Calls every evening.  I do not answer.

It's a company called SME trying to sell me a local newspaper.  If you want to be taken off of their call list, call their number, you will get a recording and in that recording they will tell you to press '1' and follow the instructions to be removed from the call list.  I just did so I don't know if it works or not.

I answered and it said "please wait for an important phone call" after a few seconds it disconnected and I got the dial tone. I tried what mikiedoit said. Lets hope it works.

I get a call everyday from this number around mid morning. There is no response at all on the line when I answer and they never leave a message if let go to voicemail.

I get a call about once a week from them but they always hang up.  Isn't there some way to complain about this and get them fined?
I tried to call them back and get removed from their list but I still get calls from them about once or twice a week.

Got my first call from 877-718-4934 today. Sounds like I'll be getting more.

Calls all the time. If I pick up I will get either a message asking me to hold on the line for an important call and then they hang up. I have talked to a person occasionally and told them to remove my number, but they hang up as fast as then can while I'm talking.  I wish I could block them..
I think they are a telemarketing group that works for whomever hires them.

caller said they wanted to offer me a subscription since I recently placed an ad in the paper. I asked who they were calling for. She said the Sacramento Bee. I told her I already had a subscription. She said "Oh you do?" thanked me and hung up. If she was really from the Bee she should known I have a subscription. Probably a scam...

Tried calling, as other suggested, and just as described, I prompted for an opportunity to take name off call list.  Will report back if I continue to get calls.

I got a recording from SME and I followed the instruction to be removed from their list.  I hope it works.

I have received at least 6 calls form 877-718-4934.  Also calls from similar 877-718 numbers.  I have answered twice and told them to stop calling - the only response I get is a person saying "Hello" and the noise of a room full of people that sound like they are calling other people.  They never leave a message on my answer machine.  I have made reports to donotcall.gov with no results.  I thought there were laws that 877 and 888 numbers had to have a name that shows up on answer machine and also a way to trace and stop these supposed solicitation calls.  Whoever is using this service in Texas - possibly San Antonio Express News - STOP IT

The Daily Oregonian is now using this as well, I cancelled my subscription since the newspaper has become so terrible, and now I get regular calls from this number. I followed the prompts, wish me luck!

I now get a call once a week from this number - on my cell phone!

They hang up as soon as I answer. No idea how they got my cell number.

I'm going to call my carrier and see if I can block their number.

just tried the above ... we've been getting calls from this number for the last couple weeks.  One evening last week the phone range every 10 minutes for 3 hours.  I don't answer the phone if I don't know who is calling (sometimes even when I do know who's calling but don't feel like getting up) ...

hopefully the removal process works.  If for no other reason than these calls I will never subscibe to the San Antonio Express again!!

I get this on my cell phone about once every 4-5 days. I have not answered and they never leave a message.

Thot they were not supposed to make telemarketing calls to cell phones...hmmm

I got a couple from this number too. There was no response when I answered.
