Alan4 Oct 2008- I've been getting several calls a day from 877-740-3335. It shows up on my caller ID as "800 Service". The *69 thing got me the actual number. When I answer it, there is silence for about 5 seconds, followed by some clicking and then a fast busy signal. When I try to call them back, it rings a few times and then I get the same fast busy signal. Cox says they can block the number, but it will cost $5 a month! What a rip off!

- b meadows8 Oct 2008Called saying they were with wells fargo and were offering insurance but needed more personal information before they could send a packet of information. When wells fargo was contacted they said they didnt have the kind of insurance that was offered, nor did they recognize the specific 877 number.
- If you are a WF customer, you would have received our privacy policy which clearly states that your information is not shared or sold to third party companies. If the company is an actual affliate of WF as in owned by Wells Fargo and Company, then yes you could receive a phone call. I am not familiar with this company and would suggest not giving out any information and to let your local branch know about these calls so that they can escalate it to the proper people. I myself received two calls today from this number and they obviously didn't understand the voicemail in saying please leave a message because they would speak in to asking for me. Also, with the bank I do not have my home phone listed as a contact number so I'm not sure how this company got it. I am employee and as prior posts have mentioned, am not aware of this company or these calls being made.

- Cherise15 Oct 20081-877-740-3335 Called several times and asked for my husband saying they were from Wells Fargo. We are Wells Fargo customers, and talked to Wells Fargo,AND they did not make the calls. Would not talk to me, but wanted to talk to husband. Other times, no answer.

FYI wells fargo customer service reps would be unaware of these calls as Well Fargo simply sells the names to a 3rd party company. This is completely legal and gets them around the DNC registry as you are if you are a current customer of wells fargo or have done business with them within 6 months.
You can write wells fargo(and any other credit cards or lenders you have) and tell the that you wish to opt out of all solicitations or offers, and wish to be removed from the database, and do not wish to be contacted further regarding any products.
This should be done in writing, not to a customer service rep.

I've gotten dozens of these calls over the past year from the same number and they're always trying to sell insurance. Told them again to put me on their internal DNC list. It never works. I've now stopped answering any calls that I don't know who they are. Called Wells Fargo and they don't know who they are either.
