This is definately Bank of America. My husband and I are trying for a Home Loan modification and this number is on all the paperwork that we have received from them.  We just sent the paperwork back to them today (even though they gave us until Jun 1st to get it sent it) so I think they are just following up to see how we were doing.  They are not Bill Collectors or scam artists.  They are a valid company calling for a valid reason.

This company is a third party for BOA.  We asked for the modification papers from BOA but decided we did not want to go with the program after reviewing the rules, one of which is you will never be able to change your loan until the loan is over by contract.  Also you cannot combine another equity loan if you have one.  We told them we were not interested, and they have not stopped calling my house.  I had to speak to a manager today and get nasty unfortunately and beg them to stop calling my house.  I really dont understand what they didnt understand by "NO".  I asked them several times before speaking to a manager to stop calling.  Be wary of these people, I do not think they have good intentions.  If it sounds to good to be true, remember it probably is.  I didnt want to be tied to a company I knew nothing about just to make my payments lower.  I dont trust them.

They called me three times in the past few days and I finally answered the call.  They are indeed a third party company for BOA, called 'Project Hope'.  I filed a loan modification wit Bof A and they were following up on the paperwork.  The gentleman I spoke to was extremely helpful and gave me the precise additional information I needed and tips to get my paperwork expedited by BofA's underwriting department.  He also provided me with the fax number to send everything as an alternative to snail mail.  Already informed about this tedious process, I asked many questions in a non confrontational way and expressed my gratitude for the time he spent with me on the phone. I would say this caller went above and beyond in providing me with just what I needed to get through this process.   Remember if you're trying to get a bank to modify your mortgage,  diplomacy is the key.  I know this after working in the banking industry for two decades.

    Its Skank of America alright.

They callled me to tell me a Fed-Ex pacakge is coming to me.

In that phone call I ask them, "does this Fed-Ex have atracking number?"
B of A answer: "either we dont know it, or we wont provide it"

3 business days later, no package.
I call them,  we play phone tage for 30 minutres, Hope sends me to another part of Skan of America.  That part of Skank of America sends me back to Hope... but they stay on the line, to embarras (hopefully) the "hope" part of Skank of America.

Finally, "hope" part of Skank or America, says,
"well, who knows, perhaps no Fed Ex will come, anyway we just want more information."

    hehe,  thats Skank for you.
unfortunately, for Skank, they dont understand, that its a "pattern and practice of fraud" thus a violatiaon the federal fair debt collection practices act and the RICO statues.   The fact that its also a RICO violation, it makes it possible for the bank officers involved to go to jail.

Just becase the goverment (purchased by Skank of America) wont take Skank to court, does not mean you cant.  And do it Pro-Se.  Thats the best way bar far.
