I got a call.  It said thank you for visiting treat your brain.com.  I have never been there, and certainly never left a phone # at a website.

I have gotten 2 texts from msg@treatyourbrain.com that thanked me for visiting the site & said that I was eligible to win a Wal Mart gift card. I NEVER visited the site, NEVER gave my phone # out to this site. The message said to text END for do not call, so I did and I'm still getting texts from them.

I have received 2 texts like this. I have a feeling it may have something to do with stolen info from CareerBuilder.com or maybe one of those sites? Any of you use a job finding website right now, or have used one in the recent past?

THIS IS A SCAM. This is a version of the advance-fee-for-something scam where something is a grant, loan, lottery winnings, interest rate reduction, gift card, doggie, cruise, vacation, free gas, etc., and the advance-fee is for tax, shipping, registration, secure handling, service, etc. They may send you a fake check, may want your credit/debit card or bank account number,  or tell you to wire cash via Western Union, Moneygram, etc. They can put recurrent difficult-to-cancel monthly charges or a 1-time charge on your card or bank account, and sell account info to other criminals and you'll have to replace accounts altogether. Wired-cash is irretrievable - once it's picked up at the other end, it's untraceable and gone. If they want you to call them up for instructions, they may tell you not to discuss the wire with Western Union desk clerks but the real reason is WU clerks are familiar with these scams and will warn you not to wire the money. Report to US Postal Service Inspectors https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG, as appropriate.

This company won't stop texting my cell phone at all hours of the day and night. I have called and asked them to stop 3x, and they said that they removed my name and the calls continued. I told them that I was on a do not call list, and they said it was not a call, it was a text. I have returned text messages with  END, STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, and CANCEL. On one of their numbers, the text went through but the calls continued, the other number bounced. I think it is time that we all notify the FTC and FCC. These people are scum.

I kept gettng these texts as well. I had texted STOP or END but kept getting a mailer deamon text back. I had to call 3 times to get a lady who didnt hang up on me. They are very rude and the first thing they ask when you call is your name. The first two people I asked, who they were and if they would please stop calling and texting me. And they hung up. I finally got a nice one and I told her my first name and told her I would like to unsubscribe to whatever it is I subscribed to. She said to have to reply stop which I told her I did and it wouldnt take my text. She finally said she would take my number off the list. Lets hope that worked!
And I think it was a website I mistakenly applied to for a school when I was looking for a job. When I realized it was to a school I stopped and canceled it and I didnt think it would go thru. Apparently it did.

I think you are right. I visited CareerBuilder.com or some other job finding web site. Next thing I know, I'm getting annoying unsolicited texts.
