I actually did not get the call myself, but I am in the same situation.  They are calling my brothers looking for me, both of them live out of state. They are telling my brothers two different stories one of them that I have a bad check and the other one that I have a court tomorrow and needed to call them back ASAP. Funny thing is that I dont live in that state and to make things a bit weird they knew both of my brothers names!!

This site was just brought to my attention bye a fax I recieved from a DEBTOR. The sorry state of the U.S. economy is relative to exactly what we are seeing here. Hearshe Kemp is an investment bank. We purchase delingquent contracts, as well as bad check claims with the intent of litigating that contract in a court room, securing a civil judgement, going forward, using forceful recovery tactics to get the money YOU OWE!!! The most recent portfolio purchased was breeched payday loan contracts. Every debtor here, recieved a bank wire into there checking accounts for the monies Hearshe Kemp is attempting to collect. By law were obligated to give the consumer the opportunity to honor there obligation outside of court,, before outsourcing the work to a local attorneys office, and extending our resources suing you. The payday loan contracts stipulate the money loaned was to be drafted from you DEBTORS checking accounts at a later. All those checks bounced. Now you debtors want to practice the American way and cry foul, you want to be bailed out!!! It's because of you debtors that my 401k has lost 3/4 of its value,,, It's you debtors fault the DOW Industrial, NASDAQ, have lost 40% in a short time. Banks started lending money to ANYBODY in good financial times,,, they stopped looking at peoples CBR's(credit reports),, the bubble burst, because all these debtors that are commenting on this sight, about "the scam" "the fraud" being committed by Hearshe Kemp, DIDNT PAY THE LOAN THEY RECIEVED BACK, YOU DIDNT HONOR YOUR CONTRACT!!!! NOW LIKE THE TYPICAL AMERICANS YOU'VE BEEN TRAINED TO BE, YOU WANT TO CRY FOUL, OR BE BAILED OUT!!! Every contracted owned and acted on bye Hearshe Kemp, is valid, authentic, and pursuable in court. People dont like to be told they owe money. I certainly understand that, inopportune things happen to good people, that put you in situations dealing with companys like Hearshe Kemp, but for the most part you debtors are the cancer that has killed our great economy. Stop being lazy, go to work. Dont take out payday loans, with high interest. If you do, PAY THEM BACK!!!! IF YOU DONT, WE NEED PEOPLE LIKE HEARSHE KEMP, TO MAKE YOU DEBTORS CULPABLE!!!!

Everbody is not the same and these people do scream and talk to people rude as late as yesterday one did call my job screaming at a coworker saying she was me. They really don't listen and it don't matter it could be handle a better way. They even call people I had not seen in years who didn't care anyway. Actually her people could sue them she is sick and has no contact with me. She said she told them she could not see the number and the Miranda person told her to look at the caller ID for the number. It's really sad because it could be handle another way.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying.  However, you are collecting on behalf of ILLEGAL payday loan companies.  For example, the maximum interest rate on a payday loan in the state of Illinois is 404% (which is ridiculous by itself).  These online payday loan companies charge over 800%.  They also allow interest only rollover payments which is also illegal in Illinois.  Most other states have similar laws.  Some states do not allow payday loans period, yet these companies still offer their services there.  These companies take advantage of desperate people in an illegal way.  If Hearsche Kemp is legit (which it isn't), they should do some better investigating of the companies that they deal with.  Also, these companies will say because they are internet based, the government doesn't have jurisdiction.  That is completely false.  Every loan company has to follow the laws of the states where the money is going.  I can't stress this enough.  DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE COMPANIES.  They are illegal and completely unethical.

To all out there please go read the tfc codes for Fair Debt Collection Practices Acts file your complaints to them cause your not getting anywhere with this unless you do,I did today,  it will help all the codes are there from 801-819 its against the law for any collector to contact a family member about another member  to harress any person in any way, file a report with the BBB= Better Business Bureau & Federal Trade Commission Protecting America's Consumers I'll even give ya the links for both of them on this first 1 find your state & file complaint ASAP,cause it will only get worse ,these people will keep hounding,and this Steve Grieves has been know to represent himself as an attorney to many family members & telling them the same thing ,then when you people try to explain to him ,what happens is he starts to call family members liers ,& you as well,all he wants is your credit card imfo,or bank account imfo .then watch out over the next few months you will be hit big time ,he says its a 1 time deal on the moenis but when you get an email it states Federal Law Requires that we notify you that this is an attempt to collect a debt. ? to you Steve Grivas: is ok say we owe the debt ,how do you come into the picture Can you clearify that for alot of US? and  what does it cost us in the end through you ? the whole original loan we did (If that may be the case )or a one time payment to you & If it's the one time payment what next? Steve you just called me today. I am no debtor, but apparently my brother-in-law could be. You did everything possible to make it appear that there was a criminal case against my bother-in-law. In fact, even though you referenced a case number, there are no actions filed anywhere against him. To represent yourself as an agent of justice when in fact you are a debt-collector.

With all do respect, your diatribe was complete crap. First of all, debtors did not cause this issue. Bankers are in the business of lending money. They are professional lenders. Conversely, borrower's are not professional borrowers. Who should shoulder most of the blame? Our economy is in the crapper because rich people cheated and governmant failed to regulate or even pretend to care. Many public officals actually receive campaign money from those that they are supposed to oversee. And you want to blam some poor slob for walking out on a couple of hundred dollars while Wall Street and Bankers stole billions--may be trillions--issuing loans on based on other bad loans, covered by other bad loans, in such a way that pyramid doesn't do the monument to greed justice. They scamed us.

Even when the real estate bubble first began to pop, we heard jerks like you blame home owners for buying homes they couldn't afford. But what was the percent of foreclosures on primary residences at the beginning? That right, it was mostly investors, buying property left and right on speculation that real estate values would continue to rise. Banks participated in this speculation when the issued all these crazy loans to assist ereal estate speculation. Really, why else buy a house with an interest only note for the first 7 years unless you intend to sell it in the first 7 years?

You do realize, that without debtors, you sir would not have your job where you get to enjoy misleading and bullying people around. Got a call yesterday from a man that called himself Steve Grevis. He asked to speak with my husband.  I told him my husband wasn't home and asked if i could take a message.  He said he was with the Hershey & Kemp Law Firm and left a 877-787-4717 # for my husband to call back.  I tried to ask him what the call was about and he wouldn't tell me.  He then asked me when i would give the message to my husband.  I replied with as soon as he gets home.  The man then asked when he would be home.  I told him I didn't know and that when he got home I would give him the message.  He then proceded to tell me and i quote "YOU NEED TO GO HANG YOURSELF WITH A CYPRESS TREE IN TEXAS."  I found his comment to be highly offensive and racially motivated.  Before I could say anything he hung up the phone.  I called the # back to talk to his boss to let them know what kind of people they have working for them and that I was highly offended.  I was called a liar and told I must have the wrong #.  I called the 800# back and got the guy on the phone again.  Just to confirm for myself that I had the right #.  This Steve guy then told me I must be off my medication and needed to get back on it and that if he saw my number on his call log again he would file criminal harrassment charges against me.  I had a friend call back to try and get these guys address.  My friend called pretending to try and set up payment arrangements and needed the address where to send payment and was told they couldn't give out a mailing address or physical address.  I think this is all very shady.  This peopl are obviously racists and i wonder if they are trying to steal peoples information in order to fund some act of terriosm.  I must say I'm a white woman and the fact someone would tell me to go hang myself to be highly highly racially motivated. I tried hours yesterday trying to get an address on these people.  Whoever they are they need to be found and they need to be placed in jail.  I hope someone can get there address sometime.  I plan on filing a complaint with the OCCC but i don't know who much good it will do since i don't really know where they are.  The three different individuals i spoke with all appear to be white males.  Unless it is just one man altering his voice.  How can we find these people

These people have been calling and harassing my mother, who lives in a different state and whom I have not lived with in over ten years. . They have been ongoing for a couple of years. When I contacted my attorney regarding it, he advised me to have my mom tell him that I do not live there and have not for many years (it has been over 10 years since I lived in my home state). She did so and it stopped, but now over two years later it has started again. Mine was from a Kenny Sledge. They stated they were filing paperwork on a credit card issue and called two days prior to the paperwork supposedly being filed to settle out of court. The “paperwork” is being filed in an incorrect county where there is no jurisdiction. I’m contacting my attorney again and he stated they have no legal standing in this matter. The really funny thing is that if anyone really wanted to find me, it’s not that hard. I have a driver’s license with my legal name and current address, my student loans have my correct address, my car insurance has my current address, my tax returns have my correct address, and my current bank & credit cards have my correct address – so why are they going to my parents when I haven’t lived with them in over ten years, since before I ever signed up for said credit card?? Sounds really fishy….

The issue is NOT whether the money is owed.  The issue IS the harassment. No one deserves to be harassed.  Money owed is money owed. Most debtors understand they owe money and are not disputing the issue.  They are exercising their rights, however, to be treated with respect and not be terrorized into paying their debts.  When a collection agency has crossed the line look into filing a claim with an FDCPA lawyer.  Most of the time it is free and the costs are paid by the collection agencies- for violating the consumer's rights!  Have a great day.

I was contacted by this company earlier this month and they told me I was going to have a case filed against me in court for a bad check. I payed my debt and within 2 weeks they illegally stole money out of my acct. I contacted them and they lied and said that they would put my funds back into my acct within 48 hrs. Which I have yet to see. DO NOT Deal with this company and I now have filed a suit against them. If anyone out there has better advice please respond!

Hopefully HK will practice what you preach. The account is in collection because Hershe Kemp has avoidied payment. I show 12 messages that have not been returned and 4 demand letters that have not been replied to.

Thank you for this posting. I had a payment arrangement with Hearshe Kemp and they took unauthorized payments from my checking account causing my other payments to bounce. I told them I want to pay off my account but by sending payments in as I don't trust them with my account information. They kept telling me it was a one time occurrence and mistake that happened when they updated their payment systems but it happened more than once and I had to end up closing a bank account I had established for years because of them. They say they won't take payments by mail by check and I know what they did to me was illegal. At this point I am not sure how to handle this situation.

This has also happened to me but i was called from two different numbers trying to collect on a what they called a bad check. The two numbers are 1-877-995-0656 (which is no longer in service) and 1-267-690-9140 which is out of PA same company Hearsche Kemp but different person called me a Stanley Sims. He told me I had a summons and it would be delivered to my home and good luck to me. I beleive this to be the same scam and will not send them anything.

I got a call from 520-457-5804. I called back and it was a recording of a Lady's voice for Hersch&Kemp. She had an accent. I got transferred to a "something" Tillman. I believe can't remember the first name. I have maybe two payday loans unpaid so I assumed I owed the charge and plus they said it was set to go to court where I would be charged with a FELONY!!!  As a new mother and an employee of one of the largest banks in the U.S. I quickly was scared and made the payment arrangement however something inside of me didn't feel 100% comfortable with this company. I gave them my debit card information however it was to my prepaid debit account I use for spending money and not my MAJOR bank account which I use for bills.  What should I do??  Should I close my prepaid card?  What if I do owe this money?  Anyone have suggestions?
