It was a telemarketing call for a free industry magazine subscription.

Called 2nd day in a row, did not leave message.

Same as Eric.  The magazine was Test & Measurement World.  Reed Elsevier, the publisher, has probably contracted with a third party to get new subscriptions.  I get another of their magazines and that's how they got my name and phone number (the existing relationship is gets them around calling a number on the Federal Do Not Call list).  They start off saying that they're calling to renew an existing subscription but when confronted that there is none they launch into a pitch to get you to subscribe.

You'll get more.  They're using a predictive dialer so you may get a hangup if you answer (followed by more calls).  They typically stop after ten calls.

This number has called 7 times in the last three weeks.  I even picked up once and got nothing as the system tried to route me too a live person.  I didn't wait, I just hung up.  I now just pick up the receiver and hang up right away so it will stop ringing.  I believe its a telemarketing firm because they keep calling and won't leave a message.

Calls several times a day for my supervisor.  Soliciting for a magazine subscription.

Caller hangs-up when I lift the receiver. I have no idea who they are but it is very annoying. They call about once a week.

They have been calling about three times a day for the last week.  Every time I answer they hang up. It is very annoying.  I can't tell who it is as they never talk to me.

I have no idea who this is, but since I am on the "NO Call" list....so they should not be calling me for any reason.

just started getting calls from them today.  two calls within ten minutes this morning -- one more this afternoon.  no one responds when i answer, just get nothing and hang out....call back and i get fax machine noise.

I get this call too; twice since morning, I will wait until evening and will notified to my telephone company..

How do we stop this nonsense?

Anoying hang up calls two to three times a day.
I called the number and asked them to take me of the list.
I was told that it was an automated call and they have no control over it!

I guess we should expect more calls.

I get 3 or 4 calls every day from this number. I send them straight to voice mail and they hang-up. I'm sick of it.

They call and if a live person picks up they hang up.  I would now never accept any of their magazines or publications because of the tactics they use.
