- Marty| 4 repliesA person named Neal keeps calling me about my wife's defaulted account with Citibank. I try to reach an agreement with him, but he rejects everything and don't want to hear any new ideas. Well since I already know that they are located in Jacksonville, I decided to tell him about my ultimate idea, which is for me to go there in person, sign the agreement that he wants my wife to sign, pay the first installment and get it done with. Well I couldn't because he won't listen. He wanted to make this a one way conversation. All he wanted was my checking account number and get done with. I know when an employee in a credit card company is not being professional. He gave me no choice but to hang up.
- Caller: Citibank
- Call type: Debt collector
- KerriThese people keep calling my boyfriend and asking for RITA. We've told them a hundred times they have the wrong number. When my boyfriend asked to speak to a manager, they hung up. They keep asking for his information. I think it's a scam.
- Caller: Citibank? Scam?
- RickyIt's a Citibank Debt Collection call. They call me a few times a day looking for somebody else, despite me telling them that this number is a cell phone, and that i am not the person they're looking for.

- LauraI have received SEVEN (7) phone calls in TWO (2) days. No message left. I just won't answer. If anyone wants to talk to me, they can at lease leave a message.
- RussCalls from 3 different numbers so far including this one 3-4 times a day from Citibank. I tried to speak with the first caller and they were RUDE and unprofessional, I finally hung up. And yes they will not leave a message. I always believe in paying my debt but this makes want to file bankruptcy. I will never use Citibank again.

- KirkYup...Citibank. I've been a 'Platinum Select' cardholder with Citibank since 1995. If I'm 4 days past due on a payment, even if the previous ten payments have all been 2-3 times the minimum, I get a phone call. Their system used to leave a message having the general tone of extreme urgency approaching that of homeland invasion, now there's no message at all.

- BobI keep getting calls from this number. I recieved 5 calls yesterday and did not answer, figuring that if it is important the party who called would leave a message. Today I answered the call and an unidentified individual asked for my wife. I told him she was not available. He hung up.
- UghThese people keep calling excessively throughout the dya. Most of the time they do not leave a message. When they do, they claim to be from Citi and either "want to fix a problem" with my account or help me schedule lower payments. I have a closed Citi account and I already have a oayment plan worked out with thwem that is direct deposited out of my account monthly. This is clearly some kind of scam.
- Caller: "Citi"
- Georgia| 1 replyI finally decided to answer this number to see what they wanted. I dont believe in answering any number I dont know. If they want to talk to me they would leave a message, right. This number never leaves messages so I never answer. So finally I did. They said they were calling about my late citi card payment etc. I told them my story and documented it on my account..Eventually after answering the phone call 3 or 4 times after that and telling them my story again and again....I cant make a payment until they work with me, then they did.
Finally... citi card I think will hopefully treat me like one of their excellent customers which I have been for almost 10 years. Answer the phone and do what I did. I got my payment down and lowered my interest rate to 0% for a year. Its not a perminate fix but bought me more time to fix my financial situation and be able to pay them back. Hope this helps some of you. All I had to do was answer the phone and talk to someone over and over but it finally helped (I think) - Duke| 1 replyPlease do not allow to contact me .Block it ,Thanks.
- Caller: citibank
- Lori replies to Dukesorry, Duke, this site does not do that. It is a site to report unknown numbers for others to be able to identify and benefit.
Hate Citibank. Don't ever do business with them. - LouFed up with Citi nonsense. Do not try to question them, they just hang up on you. I know they are just telemarketers representing Citi trying to get a piece of the action. Ridiculous!
- tired of calls| 1 replythey call me everyday
- understand about calls replies to tired of callsThey call me everyday and when I answer no one is there. Very aggravating.
- Dan| 1 replyIt's funny how CITI didn't hesitate to take $45 BILLION in bailout money from the government, but STILL continues to rape the American public with their 29.99% interest rate!!! I asked them to reduce the interest to get a more feasible payment, but they wont so I don't know what to do. I haven't used that card in over two years... I just want to pay it off but they make it impossible!
- TheJonses replies to GeorgiaI would contact someone at one of the numbers listed on the www.citibank.com official website and talk with an actual Citi Bank representative about your account. Never give personal information to someone over the phone even if they claim to have information about you or your account.
- drmoto replies to DanDon't pay them. Save all your money. The moment they realize that you are serious about not paying and not concerned about the consequences (which is a dent on your credit report, which is only needs to be good if you want to borrow more money). Make a resolution to never borrow money again.
Make sure you don't bank with the same company that issues your credit cards so that they don't reach into your bank to take the money if you don't pay them. And read this article about managing your finances (no affiliation): http://nobeliefs.com/finances.htm
Work your way up to paying for everything in cash (not necessarily paper, just your money, not borrowed money). Then you will simply not need credit. - lori| 4 repliesReceived a message to contact them regarding my account. There is another number that keeps calling as well but leaves no message.
- Danno| 2 repliesIts Citibank. Its the preverbial Credit Card company that believe they can harass you into giving them money on your bill that you do not have. I talked to them a couple times just to see how they handled the interaction with me. Unprofessional, desperate, and poorly trained is the best descriptions of the person calling, I could determine. Its just part of the Cat & Mouse game they play because they have some corporate idiot that believe if you pressure people enough, they will make money materialize out of nowhere. Let them keep calling and calling! Just because they call it does not mean you have to talk to them; and if you answer the phone, it does not mean you have to answer any of their questions. The credit card companies screwed themselves over the last several years, they will continue to for the next several years. They took a risk and lost, and now they need to make it look like its all your fault.
Stay loyal to your family, put food on the table, pay your rent, pay your utilities, and keep all your priorities in order. If circumstances disallow your making your CC payment on time, then don't do it and don,t answer the harassment calls. Talk to an attorney, google the laws in your state, do your research and learn your options. File for bankruptcy if you have too,(then they get nothing), or wait for the settlement offer to come in the mail from Citibank.
JUST REMEMBER!, If you're going to sacrifice your credit score, do it quickly and never let it be a "slow Burn" down on your score. The credit card companies love to do as much damage as they possibly can while their one the way out the door. Take Control!!!! All they want is your money, they could care less about you or your circumstances, believe me. - linda whiteUnknown
