Leave messages on my voice mail saying they are trying to collect a debt. When I called back a lady refused to name the company she was collecting for. Seems like I am not the person they need.

Caller says to call 1-877-803-0003 as soon as possible. This is The Portfolio Associates. About collecting a debt. Then the lady hangs up.

Continue to get calls from Portfolio Sassociates regarding a debt. I don't have any outstanding debts. It must be some sort of scam.

Same as everyone else.  female voice, talking about a debt, I have no outstanding debt.  I too think this is a scam!  I am also on the Do not call list.

Have had repeated calls all day and evening - will never leave a message  Today they left message of static.  Why can't they google name of person they are looking for - it is not me - to get the right person and stop this stupidity and waste of time.

this is an annoying debt collector who has no reason to be calling people.  They buy old debts that can be 10 years old and don't have any recourse at getting their money.  LEAVE US ALONE!!!!!

us too the message today was just static but I have call display and I googled the number and guess what it's them again.  I wish they would just stop calling and harrassing people.  As well they always seem to call in the morning or during the day don't they realize people actually work

Simply tell them that they are waaaay past the statute of limitations.  They will try to dispute you by saying that they have 7-10 yrs but in most cases they only have 5 yrs.  Let them know you know what your talking about and that they are violating the Fair Debt Collections Practice Act and they should quit calling. That is what I had to do.

Not only is PRA notorious for dunning consumers on old debts whiich are beyond the SOL, but they are also being reported sending out bogus 1099-C's on them:

According to the WV General's Office,  "In the case of a debt that has been disputed and cannot be proven a 1099c is not a valid option for a CA to file. By filing the 1099c they are saying that yes this is that persons debt and we can prove it is. However if they cannot validate they cannot file the 1099c".

I received a few calls (Messages on my answering machine) a few weeks ago. Then three "Low volume-slurred" messages on the machine a week ago, and the last two is "Loud Static" that used up ALL my answering machine memory.

They need to buy a new auto dialer/caller machine me thinks. :-P

They keep calling for an old number owner, four years ago, still getting their calls,  won't stop, won't listen, won't stop. Say wrong number, use a current directory and they are sarcastic and unwilling to listen, "We get this all the time, we will call later"

I have been receving calls from this number for over two months.  Each time I ignore the call, we get the same annoying message with a female voice saying "Please return my call.  This is regarding a debt that needs to be collected."  I got fed up today and called the number.  A man named Paul answered and said he could not find our phone number in the telephone system.  He was not sure why they were calling us.  Supposedly we are supposed to be taken off of the list in a couple of days.  We'll see.

We keep getting the same thing calling leaving annoying messages and when I called back one time I got the run around, because they had no record of me or my husband-and they still keep calling. It is crazy!
