TnT-HD - 10 Jul 2007The call is from cbcs I think that what she said, it is the collection dept for Verizon telephone, located in the Phillipins since wages there are cheaper to afford? Apparently, I owed $44.40 since 2005 when I dropped them to go to Vonage. Oh well I paid it and now it gone... ps this post is for those who need this information that didnt get a good answer... when you call you will speak with a person with a very strong phillipino accent...

anon - 20 Jan 2008You likely didn't owe this debt. CBCS is running a scam wherein they claim a debt is owed (always a phone company, Bell South, etc.) and then attempt to collect. You were had.

ram - 17 Jul 2007called me and said, they want to talk to richars, whom I dont know. I said you got the wrong number. they replied that that was given by richards. I have this number for over 8 years. Then hung on me. I called them back to verify, why someone gave my number fearing identity theft. They hung phone on me. they are not replying, just cutting the call immediately.

James - 28 Nov 2007Called by "Mike" The computer first asked for Trent. I responded to the affirmative, when Mike got on the line he asked for Troy. I said sure I'll get him. I then responded as Troy. Mike said this isn't Troy. I said yes it is what's up. Mike said it is a personal matter with Troy. I asked who are you? Where are you calling from and what's your phone number? Mike responded with I am Mike calling from CSCB. I said what is your suepervisors name and number? I need to call you back. Mike said you are not Troy. I said that's true, I'm just the guy whose house you called. What's your name and phone number? Mike said weren't you listening and hung up. I am not Troy. I do not know a Troy or Trent. This call was very irritating.

Stop calling me - 12 Dec 2007They call me 8 million times a day...no message or anything. Thats how the world is....calls only when they want something!!!! There should be laws on people that call and never identify themself, hang up on us, harrass our families etc.

Linda - 21 Jan 2008I just saw that number came up and didn't bother answering since I don't answer 800 number calls. I checked the voice mail and it was partially but off but the automated voice said to call him at 800-947-2987 mon-fri - 7-7pm.

I have a handy re-dial button I keep hitting over and over and over and over and over and over and over and hang up on them when they answer. Normally, this causes a callcenter's "abandoned call rate" (read:Lost Money)
to skyrocket, usually prompting management to make changes; either in personnel, or procedure. I hope several lose their jobs.

STX - 19 Feb 2008They are a rip off and you should go find this old caller ID like the one I have that allows me to reject numbers so that when they call they get hung up on after the first ring. Since i never answer a call without checking the caller ID i find i can always call real people back the rest i can reject into phone hell cause a single ring costs them money cause I supposedly answered the phone and so they have to pay for the call. if you dont know who they are and want to mess with them tell them to send you a bill and then hang up. they wont call back except to ask for your address which you should never give to them cause they are just rip off artists and never ever give your credit card information either.
this caller ID I have allows you to reject unknown name and unknown number calls, blocked calls and calls from anyone or any business that you dont want to ever deal with like truegreen lawn care or those pesky water treatment system people. I bought the one i have from a catalogue i got in the mail in the early 1990's. someone like Lillian Vernon, Dr. Leonard or Dr Leonard presents Carol Wright, and /orHeartland America. All these catalogue shopping ventures offer a wide selection of electronic and other types of merchandise. Good luck- the Caller ID I have is and AD100 manufactured by B.E.L.-Tronics Limited and i originally got it from Dr. Leonard's Catalogue but I have seen it available on line for $49.95- worth every penny- i believe that when I originally bought it I paid $99.95 and there was an even fancier one for $129.95 which i have never seen again.STX

delilah - 21 May 2008I get periodic calls from this number and usually do not answer, but today decided to bite. Some guy asked for me by name but could not pronounce my last name. When I said he must not know me if he could not pronounce my last name, he kept asking me who I was. When I asked "who the f*** are you", he said "let's not play games" and hung up. I also got some bogus letter from CBCS with an "offer" to settle a debt, but did not say who the debt was with. Sounds like a bunch of crap to me but it is fun to dick with them.

Anyway I called back and it said "the next available operator will be with you momentarily" It didn't say who they were when you call? I asked myself so I hung up and google searched the number because I was sure it was a scam. Sure enough.
I used a conference call bridge yesterday that is a free service. I wonder if they lifted my number off of that.

S. D. R. - 4 Jul 2008Called my home phone ( new number - have had less than two months), and I am on the national Do Not Call list. After looking up the reverse number and reading these notes from other people, I simply called the number back, they answered and I told them to stop calling me and remove me from their list. They asked if I was M. Garcia. I stated there is noone here by that name. She then asked me the number they had called, and I gave her my number, and she said they would remove it from their list.
Trust me, I have dealt with Verizon - with charges they charged me that are invalid, that I had called Verizon, and after speaking with at least 6 different people, verified the charges were incorrect. Verizon will forward you to a collection agency, usually in the United States, not some foreign body.
Don't fall for this scam!

Movnup - 8 Jul 2008I keep getting calls from this number for my brother who died two years ago. Usually I am not home and the recorder comes on but does not leave a number. Today, they called at 8:40am and my wife answered. When she asked them to hold on and I got on the phone to say hello, they hung up right away. I *69 the number and tried calling it back but it does not ring. I wanted to give them my brothers new address at the cemetary so they could get a hold of him directly.

I called back after reading these posts on here and they lady who answered asked me for my account number (not my name). I told her I had no idea and that someone from this number called me. I gave her my number, she looked up the account and asked for someone I don't know. I told her no, that's not my name, she said "well, this is the number she gave as a contact. Do you know how to get ahold of her?" I said "well, considering I don't know who that is, probably not..." She hung up. All the while I hear "WHOOHOO" coming from the background... yeah, REAL professional!!!

Hal - 20 Jul 2008i got a letter from them in the mail saying they are collecting a debt of 808.66.I have 3oDays to contact the office after receiving this noteice that you dispute the validity of this debt or any portion thereof,this office will assume this debt is valid. and some other stuff.Will I called got a hold operaters are busy then it rings and goes to saying the area code is wrong to check my number again.So I dont know after reading all this its a scam.Also I dont even say what its for.I dont owe now one this much money in collection.
