IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT IS A SCAM! - Sherry from Edgerton, KS| 1 replyYeah, I received a green post card saying, "Urgent: Read Immediately Our office has been trying to contact you. You are Guaranteed a $25,000 Grant from the U.S. Government ... Call Toll Free: 1-877-810-7908"
Scammer, I'm sure ... yep! - heavensphoniex in Springfield Vermont| 1 replyI did not recieve a phone call but did recieve the same green card, i called and ordered the supposed grant book, beig a sceptic instead of paying by cash or money order I chose to make sure that if it was a scam a paper-trail would be left behind using a securely monitored credit card with extra insurance of fraud alert if it is a scam then the people behind it will be offering a free grant to inmates in a prison cell. I will update this after I recieve information
- Caller: goverment grants
- MikeCouldn't this be considered mail fraud?
- My mother (84), thinks she won $25,000| 2 repliesMy mother thinks she won $25,000. She is 84 in a nursing home...
They sent her a postcard stating that they have been trying to contact her and they need here to 1-877-810-7908 and that she was guaranteed a US Government Grant for $25,000.
Of course, it is a scam book that they have to buy so they can read how they can apply for grants they will never qualify for... SCAM!
These crooks should be in prison.

Thank you and God Bless! Kent R. New Prague, MN - Dragonfly15 replies to got_a_green_card| 1 replyLooks like they are still up to it. I got a green card giving Deadline March 3, 2008. If it sounds to good to be true than it is
- BillyJust got back from a two week Snipe hunt.
Received green post card today here in Arkanasas, called the number, gave them $59.99 on my Visa over the phone (including the 3 character security code on the back). I'm waiting to receive a check for $25,000 signed by George Bush for a grant to study how the Republicans can win this election. I could probably sell in on some online auction for a milliion... and keep the green post card for a coaster or something.
Then I'll come back here and let you know what happens to fools and their money. In the mean time would you like to buy the Broadway bridge? - Thinking FirstGot the green card for the U.S. Goverment Grant For 25.000 and i'm glade I dug on the computer before doing something stupid. Thanks for the info.
- Liz in IndianaMy mother got a green card in the mail as well, and I looked here and found this information. She knew it was a scam but called them anyway to see what they would say, of course they wanted money for their information. HA! Like she's stupid enough to fall for their B.S.!
Card didn't have any information on it as to who it was from, etc, but it did have the mailed from zip code 66071 on it and the permit number for that postal code is #20.
I wish we could do something about these companies and make them stop this scamming! - Got One| 3 repliesI called this post card and did not know what to think. When I listened to the message I was a little skeptical, but I figured I did not have much to lose. About 6 days later I got a book in the mail along with an access code to a grant database. I was actually surprised that I got anything. After looking through the information I found a grant information about helping individuals rehab their homes for wheel chair accessibility so I called them to see if it was legit. To my surprise it was and the Non-profit Foundation told me exactly what I had to do and they sent me an application and 25 days later they have completely started redoing my house with an expected $34,500 in repairs.
I will say that I was very skeptical, but so far this is the only company that I found that actually helps people get grants. - Pam in Springfield MOI just got the book also and I am just now looking through the database and it is packed with grant information. I hope that I get as lucky as "Got One". I called their customer service and they actually answered and were very helpful in helping me login to the website. I will let you know what I find.

- lisa204Got the little green letter today thought it was too good to be true. So i looked it up and started thinking that if it was for real, then wouldn't it be in a fancy envelope with all the info that you would need? Hello the government does not just send you and many other people a green little dinky postcard, come on now. BIG TIME SCAM!!!
- ErinI received the green card in the mail and did some research. I will not be calling that number. Many of the above references say it is a scam. I will keep my money.
- SICK & TIRED OF SCAMS! replies to Got One| 2 repliesAre you kidding us? Do you really think we believe you aren't one of them? If not, you had better keep an eye on your bank account, like every hour on the hour. I ordered the FREE grant CD, for shipping of $1.97 Next thing I know, my bank account was being debited $9.95, $7.95, $39.95 ect....! I filed a complaint and got my money back, then started receiving threating phone calls, letters, all stating they were from the government or bank securities and they needed my checking account information to HELP me! I hope they don't scam you! But please, be aware that you may have jeopordized your credit card or banking information. All they need is your routing information.
